As others have said, the GZ has suffered from a fire. Despite Shell-A and I searching for about 10 minutes we couldn't find it. We enjoyed the views though.
Didn't happen for us either. There has been a fire over all the area from the road to the beach. Don't know if this effected the cache but may need checking. Thanks for the break anyway.

Great place to stop off while heading north. Unfortunately couldn't find this one though.
Very good place to hide a cache! This was our first view to the great barrier reef. Thank you for showing this nice place. Greetings from Germany!

1105hrs. Grabbed pig TB. Beautiful day and wished we had more time. There had been a fire all around but cache survived. TFTCSL
Found at 2.00pm GAFF1. What a change in the colour of the sea after travelling about 150 kms from Yeppoon. The sea was aqua blue there and here it has a light green tinge to it. The tide is way out and the exposed sands are a rich golden colour.
As we approached GZ we thought that the cache was no more as there had been a burn-off along the side of the road, Hhowever the cache was found just a metre or 2 from where the fire stopped - just saved!
Thanks dandent.

What a lovely spot, we even bought some jam at the little craft stall. The cache took us about 10 mins to find, but enjoyed the view.

No pen in this one. Found it after dodging the spider webs. Our little girl like playing in the rocks near by. We liked the location so much, we stayed the night.
This is my favourite cache of the day.
a lovely location
a perfectly situated bit of drift wood to sit and do the log on and just the best timing possible.
was in need of a rest stop and i would not have pulled into this one had the cache not been here.
just a beautiful place.
the baggies that the logs were in were a little torn and damaged and the container has begun to let in a little water.
I resealed the logs in a waterproof wallet so they are safe and sound from the damp now. just dont put a pen or pencil inside the bag as thats what causes the puncture holes
thank you so very much for the cache
loved it.
not so much the green ants...though.
and i thought it was such a pretty location i dropped off the FTF coin so it can take in the ambiance until the next visitor to this little patch of paradise

Nice and easy find and an opportunity for a comfort stop. I hoisted the piggy geocoin to keep me company on the trip. Oink Oink!
Found after having to first retreat from an angry army of Green Beret ants. We launched another attack suitable smothered in bushmans ante ant lotion. Geo wife claimed she was Queen Caunte when the sea dissapeared into the distance.

On our way to Rockhampton Gazza572003 and I took a quick detour off the highway to grab these caches. Speedy find and back in the car to the next one. TNLN. TFTC.
Stopped for a driver change and leg stretch, drove past No.2, but there were too many muggles about to bother looking.
Found fairly quickly, and the kids enjoyed looking for crabs amongst the rocks on the beach.
No swaps.

We walked from the Blue Rocks to the Rest Stop along the beach. The tide was way out, interesting to see this. The nearby "one night camping site" was occupied, luckily the campers couldn't see us.

21:32 what a glorious spot,we found the cache easily, there was a local who we found to be very entertaining, regailing tales of his trips around oz and local banter,we bought a cuppa and home made slice, bid our farewell and left feeling warmed by the view and sense of ozzie community,
A really nice spot for a break. Stopped also at the other traditional but were driven away by the ants there. No problem finding this one...

Found after having a morning cuppa. Nice spot - looked very appealing at high tide. A few other caravanners around. It was great to be able to do these two caches in the area without unhitching the caravan. Thanks dandent.
I had set up camp here for the night, on the way to Mackay for the weekend, with intentions of getting this cache in the morning. But after dinner, and a few Bundys, I decided a ramble into the scrub was in order. Down to the beach to avoid other campers, the cache was easily located. Signed, sealed, and replaced at 1955 hrs. It was pretty weird to wake up later that night to hear the tide crashing on the nearby beach, knowing that earlier, the water was barely visible in the distance at low tide, such is the tidal variation in these parts.
Cheers
