We set off from Te Anau to head for the Dunedin Mega with the weather not looking crash hot in the great company of chooknchunk collecting a few finds along the way.We made our way to the cache through the wet grass to make a quick find. Thanks Bitsprayer for the placement.
Day 5 of our NZ mega mega holiday with The_Tritonz: Te Anau to Dunedin. After spending yesterday enjoying the sights of Milford Sound and Te Anau, it was time to pack the car and head towards Dunedin for the Mega Event this weekend. A quick walk through a little bit of wet grass and we soon had this nice old cache in hand. TFTC bitsprayer.
Awesome.e find. It was out on the open so dug a hole in the pine needles and buried it with branches on top
Thank you so much for this wonderful cache! We found it nice and easy. We also saw some beautiful toadstools and read about Tupu-a-nuku.
Well, 2023 and Chrissy holiday over, heading back to ChCh from my old stomping ground in Lumsden. By myself. Perfect for some en route caches - till at least Clinton. See how I go from there. Nice ready quick find to kick things off.... Cheers!
Now I'm done with Dunedin, I can head to Cromwell for the night, but the Mossburn OneNZ cellsite needs a drive test first.
Nice little spot to stop at, and after a quick walk had the cache in hand.
TFTC Bitsprayer, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 4 today, making this find #4276

TFTC; we stopped on our way to Riversdale, and stretched our legs. Easy find thank you; there was a logbook to sign. So the cache no longer needs maintenance
Found it as is on the picture ;/ Closed the container and left it by the tree. Nothing is inside of the container.
Bit of a mission through the long grass but found it in the end. Cache contents are ok. Water in container but plastic bags appear to be doing their job. Thanks for the placement.
Had lunch at the cafe at Mandeville and popped out here for the cache. Easy find, TFTC.
I don't usually come this way. What a great rest area. Lovely leg stretch. Pity gz such a dump, needs a CITO.
Contemplated staying here a couple of days ago but forecast rain put us off being on the grass.
Stopped for lunch today instead in our motorhome.
Nice quick find once I get across the lake. Dropped a butterfly and a giraffe in the swaps bag. TFTC.

A quick find once the correct hint item was decided on. Don't think anyone would want to swim in the water now. After the find, we had our morning coffee.
+ a large marble, - nothing.

Parked up in the rest area, a walk to GZ even though the weather was not the best found a break to get it. A few 'greens' around and after the search around a couple found the cache, all good tftc
This was an interesting spot to visit. A bit crunchy underfoot but a quick find in the end. TFTC
I have a 3 month sabbatical mostly traveling around the planet. My goal is to find and log 1000 caches. New Zealand is my 4th station traveling from south Christchurch to north Auckland, my first visit here, its far away. This is my sabbatical-cache #539.
A trip from Dunedin to Te Anau for friends’ birthday celebrations. First time using a pocket query.
I headed past the GZ direction thinking my GPS was wrong. Should’ve taken more notice of it as it was pointing me in the right direction!! Once I started to believe in it I found cache. Tftc

Heading down South for the weekend so stopped here along the way. A short stroll and soon had cache in hand. Picked up trackable but was listed as being in GC67HW6 TFTC
Found it very fast, great little spot close to my family farm. Left two trackables that I picked up in Austria. Hope someone picks them up and shows them around NZ. TFTC
I almost gave up on this one, but that's because I was searching around the other hint object (which in my defence, was where my phone was pointing and satellite view seemed to as well) but having exhausted the possibilities for a D1 there, and about to leave, I noticed the second one and it was a super quick find then. TFTC!!!

A beautiful day for geocaching today, the ducks were quite vocal on the water nearby. Interesting to see the previous finder found this cache two weeks ahead of time on 16 April 2019..... perhaps they're filling up dot days?
A camper bus was sitting enjoying the m ducks. I made the quick find in the Bush, ended up being covered in itchy scratchy things on the exit.
On our trip thru NZ we visit a lot of places and see many spectacular locations.
This cache was one of our stopps thanks a lot to the owner.

The big box was missing it's geo-cover. Swapped out stuff and reacquired cover. Nice tree, never stopped here before. TFTC
A nice to this one and was followed by 3 fan tails that flew right up to me and and sat up on the branches very close to me as I found the cache. They are a neat wee bird TFTC
Out for lunch at Miss Cocoa Coffee with my sister. Beautiful autumn day. Carried on up the road to collect this smiley. No one around. Very damp under foot.

Nice quick grab, always knew there was a cache but finally stopped to get it. TFTC
On our way to Te Anau, time for picnic but no tables ? Well nice spot anyway
Parked up for a stroll around the pond to this one. A quick find whilst the ducks quacked away. Tried to get a photo of them but they all flew off. Out caching with Will of the Wisp on our “Round the World in 80 Days” trip to celebrate retirement. Signing logs with our names or initials depending on space. Greetings from England, TFTC.
DFDC!
Long Waitangi weekend roadtrip with a couple of friends. Headed from Dunedin to Te Anau (via Gore) then Riverton before finally heading home. Over 700km travelled by car, over 10km by foot and over 30 caches found..... might have left a couple as a thank you to local cachers. We had a great time and saw some cool spots.
Thanks had lunch in Gore and this was my first stop since. Slow trip when geocaching but fun.
Found alongside Hevic on our Fiordland trip. While sharing in-jokes about bugs on the quick little walk, Hevic and I spotted the cache in a rather neat little spot. It's always an honour to pick up a cache that is over ten years old - though we had to wonder about the hint as it could have pointed to multiple objects! Still, we picked the correct one first try. Cheers!
What a beauty of a day to get scrabbling through the undergrowth - located with ease, swapped signed and returned
After a DNF this morning we made our first find this afternoon. Thanks for the cool cache
After coming down with a winter bug after last week's guide camp I felt I needed to get out of the house. Had a pair of gumboots needing to be reunited with their owner over Gore way, so mostly Muggly hubby thought a drive over would be an idea.
After dropping of things in Gore, he decided to head home via Lumsden. So a stop here, just as the phone battery died ... retrieved the power bank and plugged in the phone before heading to where most of the hint objects were. Luckily phone had enough charge by then too turn on and soon had the cache in hand, pleased not to have to tree dive through the underground.
Retrieved a TB - not sure that it is the one logged in to the cache.
Thanks for the smilie.

Good spot to stretch the legs a bit further from the truck after some park and grabs. Cache found in nice dry area under cover and we SL with a new pen after the Poms pilfered the cache one. Someone has been a bit rough and ready with the logbook and it's a bit tatty. The little woman bagged the pages together but it needs a staple. TFTC
