On a day drive to Coffin Bay. Seen lot's of videos of the area. Good to be here in real life. Highlight of the day was seeing 4 emus walking around the main Street in town.
Found while visiting Port Lincoln for the week. Today I did a loop around town, then headed out to complete a circuit along the Flinders and Tod Highways out to Wanilla, and returning to Lincoln along the unsealed backroads. Thanks for the cache The Suthies!
Staying in Port Lincoln for a few days, checking out the town and caching as we go. Visited Coffin Bay and the National park there today. This cache is one that was found on the way.

Wow, love the huge trees by the car park... awesome! Logs were really wet but got our names on one carefully. 2006, that's worth stopping for!
GreyHams and myself set out on a three day SA caching trip after a super early start to the first day. The best start really though as by 9am and two planes later we had landed in Port Lincoln and into our rental car ready to set off! Local Government areas were our primary target, although many others of interest made the list, oldies, types and DT... Each offered some unique and often spectacular location, if your cache made our list, thank you!
Day 1 saw us landing in Port Lincoln and caching our way up towards Ceduna, a long but productive day saw us driving into Port Augusta just on dark a solid 12 hours after we had set off on the road.
Day 2 and we made the drive north from Port Augusta where we were based for the trip. The scenery on the drive to Roxby Downs changed often from little salt bush plains, shrub, salt lakes and to the amazing vast flat and empty, I loved the vast flat views... always spotting something in the middle of all the nothingness. Emus featured in huge numbers often, red dirt appeared... something I have been seeking so it was great to see it and finally get my feet into it all! Back into Port Augusta we set off for a loop in the south of the Flinders towards Quorn and out to Orroroo before returning just as the sun set to collect the last pizzas just as the shop shut for the day.
Day 3 was our last but just as full, although we only needed to get to Port Lincoln for our plane home late in the day we had many caches of interest plus a few walks along the way so took most of the day to make the distance leaving the odd cache off as we watched the clock!
Each day was full of such varied scenery, all quite stunning in their own way and led to a very enjoyable and fun trip. Thank you for your cache that guided us through the area and helped to highlight some of the great locations we got to visit.

Nice trees here!

Aquilus1 & myself on yet another caching mission into South Australia, this time it was to go out west to collect all the LGA's out there.
This area of South Australia is so interesting as you can drive and be in a completely different planet within an hour. Red gums, to mallee scrub, to saltbush, to nothingness and then back again!
STarting and finishing in Port Lincoln, but with Port Augusta as our main base we explored the Eyre Peninsula, east out to Ororroo and north to Roxby Downs. It was a short but fun little trip. Thanks to all the CO's for placing caches

As others have said, it needs a bit of maintenance. Beautiful spot, will return one day when it isn't raining!
The contents of this cache look like they have come straight out of the swamp. With the lid not quite shut it was a soggy mass in there

Log was extremely wet, great container but people aren’t sealing it properly. Great hide, beautiful location. Thank you for me and my little geo grand babies
Out and about with richlink during our 2022 South Australia Adventure using Geocaching as our guide.
The cache was wet inside, sorry we didn't hace a replacement with us.

Pretty neat spot gotta look around for this one. Loved here pretty much my whole life and didn’t even know there was a cabin to look out over the lake, one of the best scenic caches to look for. Just watch out for creatures GL!
Definitely a swampy find lol but I like where it was placed, cool hiding spot. We did go further down to look at the bird watching station. Very beautiful spot ️
We had intended to go for a lovely walk from our nearby accommodation to find this cache and a couple of others nearby, but there just wasn't enough time. Intead, we drove in here as we were leaving to enjoy the area (and find the cache). TFTC
As our journey took us further south while travelling with ilook4geo, we had to pick up a few caches along the way. There was no problem in locating the caches on the run sheet for the day and each found log was signed. All was then replaced as found and we were on our way again. This log here was wet and the other contents were mouldy. Rather off putting. Thanks go to The Suthies for placing this cache but it really needs some maintenance.
On our way to Port Lincoln with goingplaces2 and doing some caching as well. No Problem in finding this one, log was signed, all was replaced. This one is not in very condition any more. Job done! TFTC.
Found shortly after the new cache just across the road. There is a lot of joking about Tupperware in the forest, but it's not often that you see genuine Tupperware. My mum had this set. 1970's?? Nice spot. TFTC.
Live just across the road from this one and it's been here all this time. Love this place. Cheers for the find.

Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So after leaving Venus Bay my next destination is Coffin Bay NP which is down the bottom of Eyre Peninsular off the Flinders Hwy.
I’m hoping for when I set up camp the weather improves but at least I’m in a van and not having to set up canvas.
Well the weather has improved but not as much as I hoped for as there is still rain showers just when it looks like it is getting better.
I had an early appointment in Port Lincoln so I set off early in the morning to find a few caches heading in as Port Lincoln will be my next stop on this trip but it would be to hard to find these ones with the van behind so I did them this morning.
I was nearly tempted to head on to the bird hide but I was now starting to be pressed for time so I grabbed this on and now to get to my appointment.
Thanks The Suthies TFTC.

A 2 week tour of the West Coast started in Streaky Bay, then to Coffin Bay, then to Tumby Bay and finally a couple of days in Whyalla.
All caches were in good condition unless I've posted a Needs Maintenance log.
Found on an early morning cache run while others were wisely asleep.

Found on my 2 week round Eyre Peninsula caching odyssey. Enjoyed travelling from place to place during the covid-19 era as our state is virtually corona free. Nice location. Thanks The Suthies.
Great time to see the swamp as after the heavy rain it’s a very big lake. Cache contents are completely soaked and mouldy, could do with a refresh. Left a lucky Chinese Feng Shui coin.
This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a trip to Eyre Peninsula, primarily visiting Port Lincoln and its surroundings. We saw its famous marina full of trawlers, and we also ended up visiting Coffin Bay and enjoyed fresh oysters. A nice weekend with weather, and certainly a great vicinity to see.
Today, our plan was to head to the west side of Eyre Peninsula to Coffin Bay, and have lunch there. We enjoyed kilpatrick oysters (hopefully fresh?), before making our way north through Mount Dutton Bay, Farm Beach, and Coulta, and calling into Greenly Bay. We then looped back east through Koppio and Whites Flat, stopping off for a steep hike to North Block also. An enjoyable day to be out and about, with highlights being the coastal towns and views, and hills hike.
We found the appropriate parking place, and made the short walk along the path to GZ. The cache container was ok, but the logbook was rather damp and mouldy. A CO visit soon may be required to refresh the cache and its contents. Thanks The Suthies for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 11/2006 hidden cache. A cool lake too.

This is a nice and peaceful spot next to the high way. Cache didn’t take very long to find.
Today Davidwazza and I continued on our trip of caching out port Lincoln to the best we could, today we made our way from North Shields in and around coffin bay and the back roads. All up just over 50 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache

Found while participating in the 2019 BikeSA Annual Tour. Plenty of birds in the swamp for my visit. Unfortunately I have to keep moving.
Thanks for the cache The Suthies.
Thanks for the cache The Suthies.
Found but I think the area has floated down to Antarctica. The wind is ferocious. TFTC
Accurate coordinates and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find. Unfortunately the contents were extremely wet and the logbook was not usable. We left a temporary replacement logbook. Thanks The Suthies for the cache.
Was hoping to pick this one up as it fills a month/year spot on our calendar.
Log book was damp as lid was not replaced properly.
Thanks The Suthies. Nice spot.

Cache was really wet. Turned the container upside down to see if that helps. Lots of swans nesting. Nice to see. SuperNicholas13
I was down in Pt Lincoln with Laighside Legends for the long weekend and our plan was to head out and cache our way towards Coffin Bay and the surrounding area. It was a warm and pleasant day to be out and all caches that were found were in reasonably good condition. As it got close to the midday event we bumped into Mr Tardis and one of the nearby caches. The nearby event was an enjoyable affair, joined my Aussie M&M, Mogni and Mr Tardis, food was eaten and stories were swapped. At the close of the event, we continued to cache around the area before finally heading back to Lincoln for an evening event. It was an enjoyable evening at the pub to end the days caching before heading back to our accommodation in preparation for our next days caching.

Exploring the country side around Port Lincoln as part of our 4 day visit to the city. Lots of interesting roads to travel, views to see and caches to find. Thanks to the COs who have placed them for our enjoyment.
Once again we are touring Australia and caching as we go!
Quick find.
Thanks The Suthies, your hide is much appreciated!

Walked down to the bird hide and then looked at the GPS, cache is 30 metres behind us, very windy here today and lots of white caps on the water. TFTC
Found at 1039. A quick find but the ducks flew off as I approached the GZ. TFTC.
Needs a new container. Has dried out a bit since a previous post. Nice quick find TFTC
Headed out with the Xanlings to visit bird hide and whilst there thought we would check if there were any caches and this one popped up nearby. The cache was very visible and we found it without its lid with soggy contents scattered around. Gathered up contents and took to the bird hide to put back together. Went back to see if we could find the lid and it was eventually found about 5 metres away. Cache needs some drying out. Put back and hid with pieces of bark. These might not hold but should conceal this cache better until owner can fix. Otherwise a beautiful place with lots of creepy-crawlies about after all unseasonal rain which had the Xanlings panicking from time to time. TNLN TFTC.
