We have been expertly advised and guided by wazza9 in completing this task. Today we ticked off 5 and enjoyed the sights along the way. A great location and an interesting place to visit.
Many thanks to all CO's for placing caches and helping us achieve our goals.
A great find at an awesome location. Thanks for the fun puzzle and nice final.
I am taking a road trip to Sydney to visit my daughter and picking up caches along the way.

Out at GZ-ish today with my eldest son doing some plane spotting and some "urban" caching (the type he likes) and began our search at what soon became apparent as being the wrong side. We tried a few other locations nearby but still came up nuttin, although one of the spots we liked more than the others. A concerted effort in that location finally revealed the hide in a somewhat unexpected spot. Oh dear I'm really sorry to report that both the container and log are in very poor condish. Only just noticing this in the pics now that we are home. Please, any future prospective finders just bring with you one of those smaller flat 250ml Sistemas to replace if/ when you come. We just didn't quite have the right size and type else we would have done for sure. This find was akin to the few archived caches we've found, which is not a bad thing. Just a tough find. TFTC and puzzle, Philma, and thanks for the retro cache. They are a fun and somewhat different challenge sometimes altogether.

A lovely spot at the given co-ords, which was just as well as we were there for a long time trying to gather the required information. We managed to do the count ok, but then fell in a heap trying to work out the East degrees and minutes. We just couldn't find "one" instance of the correct format - but found what we thought to be the correct format - three times!
Plugged in the co-ords and it looked like a good location - then had it confirmed by a previous finder, but when we got there and started to look - we found nothing.
Today I headed out on my own with time to tackle some of the more challenging caches. This cache took me quite a while as my co-ords had me a few metres out in the water. I was really keen on finding this one but 45 minutes later still no smilie.
I then read the old logs and kept looking, and five minutes I eventually found it. My co-ords weren't very co-ordinated on this one , but I still managed the smilie in the end.
Thanks for the great cache, Philma.
In the area this morning to collect a special TB from the nearby TB hotel and was the perfect excuse to collect some solved puzzles.
The views weren't fantastic on this drizzly morning, but that also meant that it was easy to find a park. Went across, down and under to reach GZ. Hunted around for a little while before resorting to previous logs. Ahhh, a slight adjustment and spotted the tell tale signs of a hide immediately. Unfortunately the container was full of water and log book saturated. No problems writing on this with my felt tip pen, but the log book won't recover from this soaking.
Thanks for an interesting puzzle and bringing me to this beautiful spot.

Once we had double checked our counting, and agreed on the numbers, we did the calculation which pointed us to a place where we had already been earlier in the day.
Parked the car and took the walk to GZ, where we soon could find the cache.
Good quality cache well worth a favourite point from us.

I had been to the posted co-ordinates on Saturday and ended up with some likely numbers for GZ. [^]
Like the previous finder I got a little confused with this statement "You will find the East Degrees and Minutes once in the correct format." whereas I could also see this 3 times....
So I cycled around to GZ and discovered it is a very busy place.
So I skipped searching for this one and came back today.
After a bit of a search and the useful corrections from another finder (S-0.002 & E+0.005) and I soon found the cache tucked away. [^]
A great puzzle and interesting locations. A Fav pt from me.
Thanks for the cache.
The puzzle was mostly straightforward depending on if you can count without losing track of where you are up to. The slightly confusing statement is "You will find the East Degrees and Minutes once in the correct format." whereas I could see this 3 times....
GZ is fantastic except it makes you wan to explore more and most of it was shut off during my visit. The search was aided by the fact that this has lasted, it certainly wouldn't last if it were overly exposed to the elements. I just thought "Where would I hide it?" and there it was.
Attaching a photo that Google auto-formatted for me.
TFTC Philma, a great new discovery for me.
Being a nice sunny Saturday morning the area around GZ was very busy and I didn’t like my chances of finding a parking spot close to where I needed to be. But I did the loop anyway just hoping for a free spot, or at least someone about to leave. And sure enough I snagged the only vacant spot at the closest point to where I was heading. You’ve got to be lucky sometimes
Set off over the elevated structure, and then down to GZ. There was a couple of spear fisher people close to GZ, but they departed just as I sat down to survey the situation. With the spot now to myself I started the search, checking in all of the likely hidey holes around GZ, but found nothing. So I widened the search and soon stumbled upon the cache container. TNLNSL and then replaced as found.
Coords seemed to be out by about 7 metres, according to my Garmin 62s. Try subtracting 0.002 degrees off the calculated Southing’s and adding 0.005 degrees to the calculated Easting’s.
Thanks Philma for giving me an excuse to visit this beautiful location, and for the cache. And now for one final calculation: Interesting plaque at WP1 + Good Puzzle + Very nice Final GZ location = Favourite Point !
Now it's off for a less fun activity, an afternoon shift at the airport.
Find #906
Not sure why information necessary to find the final coordinates is locked up in the hint instead of included in the description, but that stumped me for a while until I looked at the hint. Another source of confusion was that the hint says "seconds" when it should read "thousandths of a minute" or something.
Finally found gz as my coords turned out to be 15 meters of (maybe I ddi make a calculation error?)
Really enjoyed this one.

I had packed a picnic lunch and though that the area around GZ would be a good place to enjoy it.
I put down my lunch back and started searching but could find nothing, I headed back to the bag to grab a drink and realised I had laid my lunch on top of the cache!
Signed log and ate my sandwiches - loved this spot!

I first printed the information out on the 14.09.2012 and fave visited the site a few times now.
Yesterday we drove by with some muggle friends and stopped yet again. This time we believed we had a part of the solution correct and couldn't get the rest. So again we took a photo and headed home where Nana nel decided to re print the hint and showed me that I had transposed it incorrectly.
Using the correct concept she had a suitable solution in a matter of seconds.
Today, we were out doing a couple of maintenance jobs on our caches and decided to continue the drive to GZ. It was Nana nel who came up with the container 8M from GZ.
Thanks for setting this up Philma, visited trackables gathering for a trip to the Mega and giving a Favorite.
Today, I rode down after work after finding "Heffron park by the numbers" and started the search. The eager anticipation of a quick find gradually evolved into a dogged awareness that this was becoming a tough struggle and then passed further to a grim realisation that I'd been there a long time and that I wasn't on a winner today. I, too, found the rock feature of Everlasting's log, but this find didn't help me. A group of people fishing nearby were starting to give me strange looks, so I packed it in and departed. At home, I checked my counts again and remain convinced that I was at the right place.
Now, do I wait for the reassurance of another cacher logging this find, or do I worry that my DNF will put off other searchers until I go back and make the find? Definitely a First World Problem! As MacArthur said...
This morning before I set off for more caching, I revisited the plaque numbers from my photo and came up with a set of co-ordinates that looked plausible. Past logs seemed to indicate this location, too. Hmmm, I always wondered why there was "no" cache at that location...it's because there is one! I set off and parked nearby. Now because there was no checker, I had to trust that I had it right. You could say that it was my Mission Impossible II...
I "crossed over", descended, and made my way to some rocks, just past a whole lot of unattended scuba gear. I spent ages looking in a whole lot of likely spots, but I was getting nowhere. Rock shapes in Everlasting's log confirmed that I was very close, so I just had to look a little bit further. In the end, I found it 8m NE of the co-ords that I had calculated (in other words -.003 south and +.003 east). So I had been pretty close. I had to let some water out of the container, but the log was nice and dry in its bag. I signed and took a GC to move along. Stopped at La Perouse for some lunch and then headed on for a second attempt at "Dead Man's Gulch". TFTC }:)
We walked to the GZ area and GPS'r took us straight to the cache. As there were some fishermen around we sat down and retrieved/replaced the cache when we were sure no-one was looking at our direction.
Thanks Philma for another picturesque caching experience!

An excellent caching experience, thanks Philma.

Plenty of muggles about the area but luckily few about GZ. It took a bit of searching but luckily wasn't hidden where some sizeable crabs (at least to me!) were lurking. After about 10 minutes or so my Dad had spotted it, the log was signed, and it was off to the airport (and the crazy Christmas traffic queues).
Thanks!
Could find the box after a little bit of searching and then enjoyed the weather for a couple of moments.
Thanks for showing Philma.

First attempt to GZ was confused by what we understood as horizontal and vertical. 'Tilting' our definition produced the coordinates that was spot on the cache.

Excellent puzzle cache. TFTC
KNowing how sneaky Philma is with his hides we obviously overlooked something - we can feel a hint coming on!
Tftc!
Today I was able to head to GZ where upon my initial search it seem my coords may have been out and with increasing waves I beat a hasty retreat.
Back a few hours later and the tide was inmy favour but still I couldnt find the cache. Eventually after expanding my search the cache was in hand. It appears one of my numbers were out out.
Thanks Philma for the cache.
TNLNSL. TFTC.
Two months ago I ventured out to La Perouse for work and took the opportunity at that time to visit the plaque's location. I took a photo of it so I could work out the puzzle. I emailed Philma my solution only to find I was one digit out on my calculations. Checking my work I realised I had not counted one component. Thanks to Philma, who set me straight, I soon had the required co-ordinates which would take me to a very interesting location. It was now time to wait..... wait..... wait until again my work would take me back to La Perouse. Today was that day!! My GPSr had me heading in the right direction and after crossing over (no, I didn't die) I was soon at GZ and had the cache in my hot little hand. There were a few muggles about but none were interested in me and I soon had the logbook signed and cache returned. This was a very satisfying find that's taken quite a while to complete. Well done Philma, I like puzzle caches.

Cache Status: Good Condition
Report: Take two! Back in July I visited and Solved the puzzle without too much ado (being very careful to count properly!) but ultimately could only half search GZ due to muggles (well that's my excuse and Im sticking to it!) I was given a nudge by Everlasting when I went caching with her the other month as to where I went wrong in my initial hunt and it seems I was over complicating things Today was a windy overcast Monday morning and only one fisherman nearby to keep me company but he was totally uninterested in my activity. Had the cache after a few minutes this time and very relieved to knock it off the list! Great GZ and not too stressful a puzzle. Left a Geocoin for the next person . Cheers Phil!
