#24376. Troodles did the puzzle solving, and she thought it only fair I made trek to GZ and found the cache. Happily it didn't take long to spot the cache. TFTC.

Thank goodness these days, co-ordinates have to be provided by working through puzzles as I solved this one only to be thwarted by what must be common local knowledge. Not being local, I had to reach out to a previous finder for a bit more info. Thanks for that, it made the find an easy one in the end. Thanks for the puzzle, I know a lot more about certain ciphers now, and TFTC.

Finally time to be in Adelaide and we arrived a few days early. We set up camp in Walkerville and settled in for a few days.Today we joined forces with Robmc and headed towards and into the city on the bikes. A day of mixed fortunes but this was one of our successful finds. It was a big day of riding and caching and we were pretty tired at the end of it all.Despite the very specific instructios it still took a bit of hunting, Another Z puzzle nailed.A beautiful day to be out riding along here. Thanks for showing us the sights.

The second day in Adelaide with The Morris. We again took the deadly treadlies and this time headed south along the Torrens. The puzzle was OK, but the find took a while.Very flash and green ovals around here. Thanks, Robmc.

I had what I believe was a good set of coords and even PAFd a previous finder so I knew what I was looking for and where to look.Came up empty handed unfortunately

I decided I'd try and get more of the North Adelaide caches today while already in the city to get my sister a birthday present.

I grabbed a pulled pork noodle bowl for lunch and found 9 caches so it was a good day all up.

I had reached out to a friend asking them to call me as my new phone meant I had no numbers.

They rang me back when I was at another nearby cache and explained my predicament regarding this one.

They passed onto me a helpful hint and I returned to GZ to find some people installing a fridge by the looks, I had all day with late night trading so I played the waiting game.

30 minutes later and they finally left, letting me get to start the search.

Cache was quickly located signed, not height issues here.

Cache is in good condition even after 544 days since the last find.

Thanks Zytheran for this mystery cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 2666 on the 24th of March 2023.

I have hosted quite a few CITO's in my time, making huge differences thanks to the people who came along!

Whether you're out finding caches or just taking a stroll somewhere, remember to always be CITO-ing to help maintain our parks and reserves!

**South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!**

We had coem to GZ hours before but it was bust so we left and return now while no one was around and made a quick find.

Today was a drive round the North area of Adelaide collecting a short list of caches we had hand picked while waiting for this trip come together at long last.

Even with the numbers being down it was great to attend a Mega and at least get to meet some fellow cachers after so long and catch up with a few people, we flew over from Tassie on Thursday and after spending a few days in Adelaide we headed Northeast to clean up some series and then head South to Millicent for the start of the Mega long weekend.

This trip has changed so many times since it was first booked and I'm glad we got to do it at long last, to start with it was just myself and GooseandEgg nipping over for the Mega and then it was a few more days with the addition of 1 toolman, then with lockdown it was back to two of us but then another Tassie cacher in the shape of BudgieTas stepped up to the plate and we were back on for an over a week trip to grab a few caches before the Mega and then finish off with Millicent before flying home on the Tuesday.

Thanks for the cache.

Found on 26/09/2021 at 8:10:00 PM thanks to Zytheran for placing this cache for me to find.

We were here earlier in the day but two muggles thwarted our attempt. Back under the cover of darkness and the cache was located after a short search.
Thanks again Zytheran
The Millicent Mega trip had been a long time in the making, for the Tassie trio of stainless steel rat, budgietas and gooseandegg, due to a couple of false starts thanks to COVID19. More and more caches were added to the extensive list as planning was being finalized. We focused on old caches, large caches, certain D/Ts, virtual caches, the On your Bike series and a few other special ones on our journey. Our route saw us caching in Adelaide for a few days before heading north via Gawler to the Barossa in preparation for the On your Bike series, whilst basing ourselves at a gorgeous cottage in Waikerie. We continued on to Renmark for a night before the long trek south to Millicent.

Some of the many highlights along the way were Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin’s Cache, Barossa High and Riverland (the oldest surviving geocache in South Australia).

At the Mega we caught up with a few of our caching friends, made some new ones, and of course missed many who could not make it this time. The weather was not the best in Millicent, and a COVID19 situation in Mt Gambier altered our plans but we had plenty of caches to keep us busy between showers, including tree climbs, plenty of adventure labs, and the entertaining Finding a Fish series - giving the new pole a good workout for the first time.

Thanks to all the CO’s who have placed and maintained all these caches that made our adventure so memorable.

A day running around the north of Adelaide looking for high D/T caches. This cache was certainly one we targeted.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Early in 2021 I received an invite from GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to join them on a caching trip to the Mega in South Australia. As planning got underway some caches with high Favorite points, very old caches, and the On Your Bike Series were listed as "must-dos"

The trip ended up being 10 days of solid and very enjoyable caching with quite a few highlights. The find count for the trip was around the 950 mark when all GCA, Adventure Lab, and GC caches are included. The high point for finds was a day of 335 finds in the one day, which would have been more, but a sudden storm put the end to caching for the day. No one was interested in getting out of the car to find a cache in a downpour in the dark Smile

We were lucky enough to find Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin's Cache, and my favorite for the trip Barossa High (From 21st of January 2001 with the original log book still in place) all in the one day.

Unfortunately, the caching around the mega was beset by bad weather and the day we had put aside for Mount Gambier was scrapped due to a covid case in Mount Gambier on the previous day, so we avoided the area. We all enjoyed the Fishing series and just managed to get the remaining of these before the light failed for the day.

In the end I managed to completed my D/T grid for the first (and possibly the second time) which was my aim for the year, although some of the D/T combinations were not really achievable in Tasmania without a 3 day overnight bush walk.

Had a set of coords, so rode the bike out of the CBD at lunch and found the cache after a brief hunt - great hiding spot - enjoy these hides!

Found It!
This cipher turned out to be a bit easier than it looks. After a bit of work on it I got some plain-text that made sense. Then went to GZ today and soon spotted the cache after a short search. Thankfully I am just tall enough to reach it!

One we had solved solved sometime ago as we worked manually through the metal cipher series. Today being close and no sport on it was only a short detour and a quick spotting of the hide with no one else around.

We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Big day out with the JAMS crew which involved a lot of activity. Today I wore waders for the first time, carried a kayak further than the kayak seemed to go In the water, walked a long way through a drain and utilized several other TOTTs.
Not too many caches found but a very rewarding day. Absolutely knackered afterwards!
We were a depleted JAMS crew as we were down 1 action man but still a fun day and enjoyed a coffee break and a lunch break. Lots of laughter today.
Was happy to make the find here in the first place I felt. TFTC Zytheran

Another day out was organised by the JAMMS team targeting kayak caches and some high terrain caches in and around the city with a few others thrown in. A fun day was had and a few weary bodies headed for home after a full day. Cool

No muggles around today so we had the place to ourselves and managed a reasonably quick find. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache Zytheran. Smile

A nice area to explore on our last days around Adelaide with Davidwazza! TFTC!

04-Feb-21
This evening, following packing up our house and the removal of all of our goods for transport, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed around Adelaide Oval to complete the virtual cache, and a few others around North Adelaide, before the weather turned, and rain fell. A nice final walk around the Adelaide festival area.

I enjoyed some of these metal cipher series, and I remember spending some time on this puzzle in trying to get the coordinates to work. As it turned out, it wasn't quite the coordinates that were output from the puzzle. So, we stopped off at GZ this evening, and thankfully this cache was found within a few minutes of our searching. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Zytheran for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Muggle partner, Rex and I had plans to just attend 3 events (1 was a CITO) today[^], particularly as the last 2 were out our side of town Cool[^]
Apparently ttrog [:X] did some good arm twisting though RazzWinkBig Grin and instead we ended up with muggle partner driving us around so we could find some caches Cool 10 Smile caches found and 3 Cool events made a total of 13 Smile smilies Smile for the day SurprisedBig GrinCool
We had some nice little walks in olive groves Smile and lush green ovals where Rex had a few great rolls on the grassCool, saw some lovely old used 2B churches [:X]Cool and dodged some traffic too Razz

Having had lots of help [:X] years ago with this series, I finally got near GZ today with the appropriate TOTT's to try and make a findCool
Figured it would be less sussed to the Twisted mugglesTwisted playing their summer game nearby to have 2 males looking at GZ than a woman and a dog Razz so Rex and I stayed in place while the boys searched [^]
I'd expected a long, long wait [xx(]Razz knowing what we'd gone through on other Z caches Wink so I was really Surprised surprised Surprised when the boys came back to me within a few minutes [?]Surprised[?]
Seems they'd made the Smile find rather quickly Cool and the Twisted mugglesTwisted at GZ were still none the wiser [^]Cool[^]

This was my third time visiting this cache and I finally found it, one the second visit I was guided with 2 others and a few PAF calls but still nothing, I was going to give up till today I dropped by again and soon found it after a short search. Really wasn’t that hard to find after all. TFTC

Chasing a cache to qualify for a challenge cache that I had previously found I decided to spend the afternoon caching around near the city. An enjoyable afternoon was had as all caches were found.

Solved this years ago. Except I had the wrong GZ. After searching the wrong GZ thoroughly I searched the right GZ and found the cache pretty quickly.
Thx for the puzzle and cache

17-Aug-18
Ciphers are not my favourite puzzles, but a while back I decided that I needed to work my way through some of them.

In the end this one turned out to be not too difficult. However, on two previous visits to GZ I was muggled out. Today, in the middle of the day, I had the area to myself and was able to find the cache after a short search and a bit of a stretch. Cache and logbook are in good order.

Thanks Zytheran for the puzzle and the cache.

Owl was out on a caching day with SA Sewer Rats, Blackadder and Brisal5, picking up puzzles, BFE caches and anything else that crossed their path. Owl was pointed in the right direction for this cache, much to the dismay of the muggle athlete who'd stored his gear underneath the cache. But this means she really does need to get back to solving this series.

out and about with getnict for the day targeting puzzles ( and the odd trad ) that have there virtual locations some where in the cbd. Well I after doing a couple of laps of gz, we rethought where gz might be and looked at a different type of t2.5 location and found the cache.

Great to get this one

10-Jan-17
Got an invite to join a Sewer Rat and a couple of Black Adders for a 'night' of caching. Rendezvous in daylight in North Adelaide to attempt city and surrounds under the cover of darkness. [^] Little did I know that a night means the entire night and most of the darkness the next day until the traffic starts. Yes folks the 'night' was called at 4.00 a.m. and it was almost 5.00 a.m. before I got home. It's been a few years since I did a night shift! Surprised Even longer since I did a city caching run. Cool
Silver cipher turned out to be way more elusive to cracking than gold. Gold was cracked and found way before this one was even part cracked. Red Face So much for doing them in order. But tonight as we were in the vicinity it was time to get this off the list. Time to go an get tin also but that is yet another story. Surprised
This one proved to be a quick find. No sleeping beasts to be seen, no athletic looking people, jogging, walking, riding or practicing groups sports anywhere to be seen. In fact I was able to put my hand right on it. Smile Don't you just love it when that happens. Thanks Zytheran for yet another puzzle and cache. Big Grin

Out for an evening run with Mrs Rat and the Crazy driver Mr Rat. Well that took longer than expected. We had just given up lookingfor that when Mr Rat had to keep looking and made the find a little way from GZ. Thanks Mr Z.

10-Nov-16
Out on a lovely evening of caching with the crazy Geo driver and the snake.
I had to out source this puzzle, as I am not that good with ciphers.
So with a set of cords the Snake and Mrs rat went in search of the cache.
We searched here and there to no avail.
About to give up The Crazy Geo driver joined the search.
Lucky for us as he made the find.
All was good with cache and log. TFTC

Woo hoo. Another cipher ticked off the list. Having solved this one a while ago, tonight seemed a good time to go get it as it was nice and dark and not wet. Parked the car on the opposite side of the oval and went for a walk directly across. That was the bad choice. The middle of the oval was extremely muddy and slushy, however I somehow managed to stay upright the whole way. Circled the indicated hiding spot searching form down low. Eventually gave up that idea and went up and talked politely to the local resident and finally found the container. Thanks for another fun journey. TFTC. 14/07/2016, 10:33 PM Find #2425

Solved this quite a while ago. Finally in town for a medical appointment, and took the time to go for a walk with one of the geokids. Of course was at the wrong one to start with but found quickly at the second location. Good to see it is still here after a long break.Tftc and the puzzle

Ok Ciphers Tin and Bronze werecsolved by last night. Tin and Bronze now retrieved. Actually Gold retrieved too using a BFE approach and just assuming a particular location might have a cache.
Bleeding from the retrieval of Tin has stopped (see my Cipher Tin log).
So last night I thought maybe I could get a start on Silver? Some of the logs made me think it might take a while.
So I started the process. A pattern looked encouraging and half an hour after starting there was the solution!
A solution that points to a specific structure, but....
Well I knew there were two of these. And of course I would search the wrong one first.
I did.
At the second one I spotted the cache, as usual up high. But there was a creature nearby. A sleeping creature. A large sleeping creature. A very large sleeping creature.
So to get to the cache I need to get within a metre of the lifeform.
Please, please don't wake up!
Think stealth, think stealth, think stealth.
OMG it worked!
Cache retrieved, log signed, cache replaced. Creature still asleep.
Exit stage right Smile

Out with a youger Mattycat, Just Cruizen and Sabastbat for a mini run to clean up a few mysteries around the city and North Adelaide districts today. This was one we had solved back in 2010, but we thwarted on the day by a good crowd watching the cricket! Gunnie69 and I returned today to find the cache after a short search, and tick this one off the list! Great cipher puzzle and neat hide.[^]

Found while out and about with Gunnie69, La Kedi and The Marble, while hunting down some caches around the CBD this morning, as we ready ourselves before traveling down to Murray Bridge for the OZ MEGA event! Cool

Thanks for the Cache! Zytheran Big Grin

A long awaited find on this cache after a thwarted attempt in 2010. Much better luck this morning with Ghostgums and after a brief search, the well camouflaged container was located and retrieved... Big Grin

Our names added to the log, it was nice to tick this one off after so long... [^]

Cheers Zytheran.

Now, back home in Brisbane, Lokipagan had created a devilish series of ciphers and blamed Zytheran for their existence, and so many a Brisbane cache seeker, after cursed aforementioned hiders, had cause to also solve a few down here in SA. Today was the day to collect one of these, and in the absence of lizards, possums and clochards, though with evidence of spiders and avians, we were pleased to be able to find the rather awkward hide. It wasn't the first place we looked, I'll admit, no the second, but at least the area was deserted for the most part, and those doing their thing nearby were not interested in us. Cache retrieved, signed and rehidden, hands washed, and onward! TFTC, Zytheran. =^.^=

A great puzzle and lucky for us a deserted GZ today. Plenty of spider webs and bird poop though but then that's what 'Wet Ones' are for. TFTC Zytheran

13-Jan-14
Mr Tardis finally cracked this one. Of all the metal ciphers so far, I found this one the hardest. Cipher Gold fell out quite nicely, but this one was putting up a fight.

After taking the advice in the cache description and breaking it into a monoalphabetic cipher using some groovy XLS macro code, I then discovered another tool to "do some of the work" and was able to test different keys much quicker than I could by hand. So I guess the puzzle was a success as I learned a new technique with a new tool.

Then of course solving the cipher was only half of the puzzle, then I had to find the damn thing. Once I was in "the right area" I found the cache in the first place I looked - how excellent is that!

Signed the log. Thanks for the mind bending cache Zytheran.

IF A MAN KILLS A LION AT A ZOO, IS HE REALLY A HUNTER? I AM A HUNTER!!

Silver is an interesting metal. It has a atomic weight of 107.9, is very malleable and ductile and is also a better conductor of electricity than copper. It has the greatest thermal and electrical conductivity of any metal in the periodic table.

None of this was any use whatsoever in solving this cipher, other than to mildly increase my IQ to a point where it was even remotely feasible to have a crack. It took time and a helpful tool. Spent a period of my afternoon sitting approx. 50m from it but was unable to have a crack. Spent 3hrs running around the city and North Adelaide to return to the same location, only to find I was no better off. Two beers at the pub and upon my return, the coast was clear. Brought Marmela along for some elevated reach, proving to be most handy. TFTC Z.

After competing in the SA Rogaining Association's final event of the year a couple of beers were had at a nearby watering hole. On the way back to the car stopped in with Tiger_Muffin to lend a hand to retrieve the cache container.

I'd cracked this one months ago, but hadn't had the opportunity to make the grab until to-day. Can't remember a lot about the solving part, though I do know it took quite a bit of brain work, and also the hint was very useful. A lovely day for a walk, and the decrypted cipher did have me expecting some monkey antics to get the cache. My fears were unfounded as at GZ I Made a quick and easy find! Thanks for the challenge, Zytheran.

31-Aug-12
Gotcha

A rare visit to the city area for me and I had a bit of time to look for this one!

Seeing two possibilities for GZ, I got lucky and picked the right one first up. Got even luckier when cache was in almost the first place I looked!

Some workers nearby, packing up from a catering function of some sort, were discussing the differences between South African and New Zealand accents. "South African sounds more like Dutch to me," said one. "Not surprising, singe South Africa was largely settled by the Dutch." I said with a smile as I walked away.

Thanks Z

What better treat than cracking this one and collecting my 50th find on the Summer Solstice. Big Grin

Going for Gold next.

Need to employ some ingenuity however with Tin - solved it quite easily, but my physical skills aren't up to the direct approach!!

TFTC Zytheran!!

I enjoyed attacking the cipher series back at home, but having solved this one, my lack of local knowledge cost me, as I fell for the same trick as setsujoku.
At least I got a bit more of a walk, and some experience of the Adelaide area!
At the second GZ, there were muggles in earnest conversation, but they were in a position where I could (just) search without being seen.
A satisfying ending - thanks, Z.

Halle-bloody-lujah. Glad to have finally sorted out which structure is which. Easy find now that's out the way. TFTC

24-Jul-11
Not sure how or why, but it turns out that we had dud co-ords for this one and have always been looking in an identical structure about 1k away!

Today though we had got ourselves straight, managed to dodge the rain, and thankfully didn't come here yesterday. An easy find in the first place that I looked, which made us happy after all this searching!

Will have to come up with a Not Cipher Silver cache at the dud location now Big Grin

Even this morning with it raining and very cold there were still muggles to contend with.

An easy find in the second place I looked.

Found on a freezing cold evening, wasn't quite right with my looking, it took a friend a lot taller than me to find as I wasn't game sticking my hand in unfamiliar places, really need to get an endoscope camera or longer legs.

Thanks mr Z for another fantastic cache.

It's still there.

Scarlett and I went a looking however no caches found, a quick call to a resident expert cacher told me I was looking in the right location however there was still no shining aha moment.

Will have to look again later.

04-May-11
The silver nugget was placed back into position this morning without further incidents. I guess some caches have a lizard guarding, some have a possum and Cipher Silver has a clochard guarding the treasure

02-May-11
After my epic failure at Cipher Gold (see the log there), I needed a consolidation prize and decided to give Cipher Silver another crack. This was my third visit. Or should I say my first visit as the previous two were actually at a similar structure about a kilometer further West. Oh well that is what you get with descriptive cache locations Sad
Anyway the caching gods must have still been against me as the place was swarming with muggles even though darkness had long fallen.
I was not deterred though as I knew I would have another opportunity around 10 pm.
Attempt 4 proved to be successful. All muggles had gone and in total solitude I set about methodically checking all possible locations. A couple of minutes later the cache discovery was greeted with a loud "I got ya!'
Then fear and utter surprise gripped me as my primal scream had awoken a squatter who was slowly emerging from a pile of dark blankets only 5 meters from where I was. I did not wait to exchange pleasantries and swiftly walked (Ok I actually ran) back to the car, clutching the cache in my hand.
Twenty minutes later I figured it would be worth a try to return the cache. I made sure my footsteps were loud enough to awaken whatever was hiding there. Alas, again I heard a grunt and saw a dark figure raise its head. Needless to say I did not proceed to return the cache and decided to take it home with me. Hopefully I'll return the cache in a couple of days (maybe after the pub dinner).

I really struggled with this cipher series. Glad I persevered though...finally solving it was immensely satisfying.
GZ was nice and quiet today, with only some yoga-ists in the distance, so it was a nice easy find. Log book is very full though, the only empty spot I could find was the inside of the front page.

Thanks Z

Like others, when I got to GZ, there were a few too many muggles to undertake a stealthy search. I waited for 15 minutes, my eyes probing for the likely spot, but it didn't look good. It was such a lovely day too.

I had resigned myself to coming back at a more quiet time, possibly at night, when suddenly all the people around dispersed. Seizing the opportunity, I went straight for the most likely spot, reached up and felt. Something moveable was within my grasp. If only all caches were this civilized - some much green.

Went looking for this one on the weekend with no success.
It's not that it couldn't be found just no chance of getting even close to it with all the sporty muggles arround!
Thought it best to come back another day.
That day was today. A few muggles still about at 5pm but none were intersted in what I was doing.
Cache was exactly where it was supposed to be although the log is very full.
No2 in the cipher series down!
Cheers and happy caching.

Since we were only a few hundred metres away doing another cache, we thought we would try for this one again, but it would seem that if it is still there it wont be there for much longer, or it's already gone.
Either way we couldn't find it as most of the seats have been removed, and there is a fresh coat of paint being applied to the building. So far only a little has been painted, but it wont be long before the whole structure is looking a lot newer.

A little local help was required to find the area for GZ and I used that to plan a trip here this evening. There were some sportspeople around and I had to be careful not to alert them to my activities when I used my torch. Fortunately the cache was not too difficult to spot and I was able to sign it with the torch off.

I enjoyed this cipher, as I did the metal series. I think this was my equal favourite with Titanium.

Thanks,

I found this one at 6.30am this morning on a early stroll from the city where I am staying.
I always thought that this series of caches may lead me into death defying situations, not something that one should attempt alone but this particular hide was just right and I was most pleased to get my name into the logbook.
This may encourage me to find a few more in this cipher series.
Thanks zytheran.

Another great puzzle,
I've been looking at this one for months, and months,
I had no problems with the first step, but I'm really bad at substitution ciphers
eventually lucked upon a cipher solver on the internet, although it never got anywhere actually solving the cipher, it put 1 letter in a place i hadn't thought of before, and from there I could just see the answer
Then I had a few problems with extraction of the cache, I was looking in the wrong place, and through some terrain that was quite a bit more that 2.5 stars, can't say much more with out giving it away

Well thanks heaps, I'm loving the cipher series

PS the log book is full, if you contact me, i can replace it for you

Found at a rather interesting structure, even found a decoy Smile
Thanks, now another blue question mark is removed from our map!

An easyish find for a not so easy puzzle. Thanks to help of others more converse with the cipher.

We searched for a while, but came up with nothing. There were too many muggles around to have a proper search though. Who would have thought that pre-season footy would be a problem at this time of year!

We know we were in the right spot, and will return at a better time of day!

I don't understand, is this on private property?

Greetings fellow cryptography buffs! If you enjoy a challenging cipher puzzle combined with a gripping tale of war, treachy and international intrigue, please take a peek at my latest Biff St. Clair adventure: THE ASSASSINS CODE (GC1D95K).

Anyone can solve this one, from anywhere in the galaxy. Everything you need is right on the geocache web page. You can't claim a find, of course, without coming here and signing the log. But, if you solve the puzzle and send me the solution I'll post your nom de geocaching on the Honor Roll, right on the ASSASSINS CODE web page! Imagine the sense of accomplishment you'll feel as you proudly display this trophy to your friends and family!

Check it out! You'll be glad you did!

Found at 20:05.
Easy find, and very pleasant here at dusk. The puzzle was not too hard - the hardest bit is forcing myself to spend the time solving it.
Log book is nearly full.

#16 of 36 cache finds for our forth and final day in Adelaide, in the company of dak’s Emu Mob. Pick a spot any spot we guessed wrong the first time but came up with the goods on our second guess. Thanks Zytheran for the cache.

#13 of 33 finds on the final day of my four-day trip to Adelaide, in company with acts2youthgroup. We found this one at 1115. Another metallic cryptographic brain twister bites the dust! Being an Ausländer, I had to guess about where GZ was, and of course, guessed wrongly. Once I found the right GZ, the cache was soon in hand. I made no exchange. Thanks to Zytheran for the cache. Cheers, dak.

over all of the winter I have been (much to winter dragon's amazment) solving this series by hand... it has been so much fun.. However every time I meet up with Z his first comment is always " well you have not completed the series until you have collected them" ... with this in mind and my 200th find getting close I decided to complete two tasks on the weekend.. 1.200th find and 2.collect all of the metal ciphers in one day...
Z thought 3 hours would do it (without muggles and he knows where they all are!!!!)
contacted Winter dragon on friday and had a helper...
by 12.30 am sunday I had 194 completed, which left only 5 ciphers and one extra to complete sunday.
12345607 was the first one completed in sunday then we started on the ciphers Smile
Silver was first, once the location was found... the cache was easily found (all you need to do is to think like Z.... very scary)... one down four to go.....

ta Z that was a little easy... I found out how easy before the series was over!!!!

Thanks to the tutorials in this series I will soon be preparing my resume for ASIO, highlighting my new found cryptography skills. I am currently buidling an enigma machine in my basement for the next zytheran installment.
Lots of fun, thank you zytheran. TNLNSL

Thanks for the revised example Z, I had previously started to consider much more complex scenarios. Rolled up to this one, hmmm, people, a game was about to start. I said I think we can get it, lets go. Yep, this one was easy to reach and no-one was looking in our direction, being engrossed in pre-game activities. TNLNSL. Thanks!

1st found on a 'Zytheran Expedition' with Abowie!
Muggles everywhere, but enjoyed the game and bbq for a few mins then pounced...

Zytheran puzzles are rarely solved over breakfast, but Miss Wibble solved this one over lunch at her desk at work. The fact that many hours had been spent trying to solve it prior to this though....
Mr Wibble teamed up with onewiseowl this arvo to find it, we've never cached with him before so this fulfilled the "Make a new mate" requirement for the RDMH competition.
Scary picture attached.
That's the whole series solved for us (for now...), thanks for the brain pain Zytheran TOEETIADEIEAROETDR.

Yay, Wibbles!

Thanks to these guys (my new mates, apparently), that's one monster cache out of the way. Missing that RDMH thing wasn't so bad after all...

I think the guy on the right looks real scary, the guy on the left looks ok, though, doesn't he? Sad

Yeah!!! solved the puzzle last night now onto gold.... one day I will actually get around to finding the cipher series instead of just solving the puzzles.lol

[Gotcha

]

I know why I missed this one now. Tin and Gold are listed as micros, Silver and Bronze are listed as small but they are all the same size! (I hadn't picked up on the size anomaly for Bronze until now)

I was looking for a small cache, larger than it actually is. It does make a difference!

As a size reference, I intended dropping a coin in the "small" cache, but it wouldn't fit!

[

Series completed, for the moment at least.]

Hard Puzzle eventually cracked.Easy enough to find once you know where to look. I still dont get the hint as I couldnt see how the codeword connected to the hint even when I knew it. Perhaps someone could enlighten me.

I have revised the example in the text as it wasn't really representative of this type of cipher.

I collected a Zytherin metal cipher cache. Now need to go and collect the rest of the set. These are a cool series - my cryptanalysis skill are now so sharp I could hurt myself Cool.
Thanks for the cache Zytherin!

I looked on the bottom,
I looked on the top.
I looked in the night time,
I looked by day.
I looked at GZ1,
I looked at GZ2.

But no cache was to be had.

Given that tin & bronze were obvious if you knew what you were looking for and where to look...........[?]

Quick find today. Not sure why I didn't find it last time.Red Face
Enjoyed the view with Beks (who was having a teacher free day) and the satisfaction of crossing this one off Big Grin, as well as learning some Latin and Greek along the way.
Left a pencil and a smile.
Visited Shells TB, who is looking for experiences, and has now experienced a Zytheran cache in SA.
