We visited the nearby cemetery today, for a couple of different reasons, but definitely also to collect the information for this nice old multi. With numbers collected, we made a dash across the grass lawn of the cemetery, avoiding the noisy plovers which we had disturbed. All good at GZ, and we have added our name to the log. Thanks culture50 for maintaining this old Hide.Domsky

I'm on my way from the Sunshine Coast down to Coomera to watch muggle-hubby play in the Pan Pac basketball Masters games. This cache was on my list to find on the way down here. I stopped close to GZ and couldn't find the obelisk until I made my way further down the hill where one of two obelisks were spotted. I worked out the coordinates and drove closer as the temperature was quite hot. I parked nearby and then walked past the baby section of this cemetery, which is all the more sad for the lives cut short. As I walked towards the GZ, I needed to grab a stick as a spider-whacker as there were lots of spider webs zinging from tree to tree. Getting close to GZ I was concerned that the cache may not be there as there is evidence of muggle activity nearby, however the cache was neatly tucked away. All is in good condition here. Strangely, I always enjoy a cemetery cache; it is a good chance to consider life.Thank you, culture50, for placing and maintaining this old cache which I can now add to my solved list.

Today I visited the Logan River Parkland and completed the AdLab there. I had trouble figuring out the puzzle to find the bonus cache and decided to move on to some other caches while I was mulling it over. I came to the nearby cemetery and after having trouble with the first multicache here, I decided to have a look at this one.I located the obelisk and found the numbers without any trouble. Then off to GZ, where the cache was quickly found. Thanks culture50 for this nice easy multi and for the cache!

I am trying to keep my streak going and also collect more multis. It was a pleasant walk around in search of the obelisk and once located the necessary numbers were collected. With the calculations completed to extract GZ it was another easy wander in search of the prize. The cache was located and the log signed before returning everything as found. TFTC

WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 151 - Logan Day 4. GCLOGAN event day 3. Another day starting with early morning canoeing. Another large group formed up at the start and got ready to go at the turn of the tide. The weather was very different to yesterday, dry, but a but of wind for added entertainment. The Armada got underway once the tide had turned and there was a great time paddling down the river, collecting the ten caches along the way without any issues. Pack up and transport back to the start was next and then there was a bit of free time until the lunch time event and the afternoon activity of way too many multi's. The Midday flash mob was an interesting effort and we got to hear about another caching opportunity next year in Caloundra. Then it was time for the multi's. Our group of Kitty Katch, Smitten Granny and albida33 managed nine, and at times we were caching alongside several different tea,s. It was a great way to meet new people. There are lots more. From here it was back to the caravan for a very wet evening and a light meal inside t escape the downpour of rain. More paddling tomorrow and a few other activities as well. With time before lunch we did a few caches around Eagleby. It took a bit to locate the right monument, but then it was just a matter of removing the typos and doing the maths as we walked over to gz for a find of this cache. Thanks for the cache culture5049289.12 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2015 10th Anniversary Compass Rose LE Argo Navis A#340**Albida**

After this morning's paddle down the river, Albida33, Kittykatch and I teamed up again to check out all the multis that we had been waiting on. These, in no particular order, are the ones we found and signed. It was great to make new friends as we went from cache to cache. A little rivalry but loads more cooperation. Thanks to all who helped out and many thanks to all the COs. All caches attempted were found and the logs signed.

I have had this multi on my to do list for a long time and today i had the time to come out to find it. I had done my homework before coming here and thought i had the correct final coordinates thanks to google but i could not find anything at my GZ so expanded out and used the hint and finally spotted the cache 17meters from what i calculated. I must have got something wrong but was close enough and happy to have my name in the log. Great to find this oldie and i love a cemetery hide. Thanks for all the fun

After spending the morning caching in the area, we decided to find this final one before heading home. We drove slowly through the cemetery until we spotted the obelisks and pulled over to go and investigate. After acquiring the necessary numbers, we calculated the final coordinates and made our way over there. The hint made for a nice quick find once we arrived at GZ. Thanks culture50

Before today’s event in Springwood, I came down to Eagleby for a few target caches with an attribute that I’m needing for a challenge.
This one was on the way so made a stop. After a bit of wandering around I saw two obelisks with the second one being the one I wanted.
After some calculations, I headed to gz where the cache was soon found. Tftc

15/1/2023 Find #5628
It was the very last day of holidays for both Cosmonaut97 and me, so we decided a day of play was in order before heading back to work. A couple of plans were hatched then we chose one. The one we chose was to hunt out some of the older caches far over the Southside.
This was to be the first one heading south. We pulled up at the poster coords in the cemetery and then began looking for our obelisk with the required info on it nearby. What an effort! You wouldn’t think it would be that hard to find an obelisk!
Turns out it wasn’t actually in our sights from that part of the cemetery. But we did get a good look at a number of other graves here during the process.
Finally we had ourselves a set of coordinates, and headed to GZ where a quick find was made - much quicker than the obelisk.
I always find cemeteries such interesting places, but we never take enough time to really investigate properly the people who lie within.
Thanks for the cache culture50.

The last for Eskies5 and I on a day trip organised to tick off a few more caches on our to do lists. We made a serious oversight on our calculations and we headed off to the wrong GZ. Realising our mistake we recalculated our numbers and made our way to the right spot. After a short search we made the find. TFTC culture50

A daytrip with Kestal from Toowoomba to Murwillumbah. The weather down there this morning wasn't great with almost constant drizzle but by the time we got back here it had cleared and was a lovely day. A few oldies were on the list today. Oh my! We certainly made a mess of this one. First off a bit of blindness in finding the point of interest. Second a mistype of the solved coords had us conveniently in a nearby greenspace which had us half second guessing cause it wasn't where we were expecting but it looked 'ok'. After discovering this was obviously not the hide the mistake was discovered and we made it to GZ for a relatively straightforward find. TFTC culture50.

We got the info and crunched the numbers that gave us some likely co-ordinates. About 5 metres from GZ, geohusband was attacked by a swarm of wasps, getting three stings to left arm and two to left ear and neck. With a hectic dash through the trees we left the prize for another day!!!

We sorted out the clue the other day and came back to grab this one on a lovely summer evening. A few people paying their respects so it was a good chance to talk to my kids about respect for others and what's happening in their lives.

TFTC. We camped for the night at Hugh Munz Park before continuing our trip south. Before leaving we decided to do the Adventure Lab that starts here’s as well as this multi. It took us a minute to set the required structure. After that it was a simple matter of some arithmetic and a short walk.

There’s basically only 2 Obelisk in the cemetery so wasn’t too hard to find after initial frustration. Better if thee were some clues to make it easier to find or higher D. Still loved the cache. Got the calculations right first time and hey presto. There it is.

I wanted to do this one when I used to live in the area and was first introduced to the life of caching but back then, I did not have premium and had no idea how to work out multi's. I definitely did know what offsetting coords were.

I finally decided to come and do this one today as I visited a family member in the area as one of the few I never got to do on my old account.

After finding what I needed to, and walking away to my car to work it out, I saw some of the ages of the people who were buried here. Some were so young. Made me think of my own mortality.

Anyway, enough of being sappy. Thanks for the cache.

Was here for the adventure lab and thought I may as well give this a go while I’m here.
Will admit I have never attempted a multi before but once I realised what I had to do the cache was quickly in hand. Was quite out in the open so placed it in what I assumed was it’s hiding spot.
Thanks!

Walking down the centre of the area, I looked over and saw some deadfall and thought, ‘the cache is probably over there.’

Completed the Adventure Lab segment here and then gathered the info I needed. Sat down on the bench, worked out where GZ was and laughed when the GPS was pointing towards the deadfall. The cache was about 30 metres from where I thought it would be.

A car parked on the edge of the trees while I was signing the log. Not too sure what they were up to but me emerging from the trees probably spooked them a little.

28-Feb-21
So this morning I meet with Willis007 and had a plan to grab a few caches on the way to a CITO tree planting event. An early start to beat the heat and the traffic so as we could be home early.

Oh it’s so funny when you know your geobuddies short falls, a multi and in a cemetery and she might as well let the residents try, but today she was in good form. While I went for a walk around Willis007 found the details required and was excited to finally have me at a multi in a cemetery. She asked me to check what she had; upon checking turns out we had different coordinates, lol. We went our separate ways and it was I who was in the field of dreams and located the cache, soon we were laughing about our adventure in here and on our way.

All good with this one and with the log signed and cache replaced as found we were onto the next one on our list. Thanks for placing this one here.

28-Feb-21
Traditionally I am terrible at multis and even worse at multis in cemeteries. But here we were this morning before the nearby CITO event, I found myself doing just that.
I found the information we were looking for and felt very proud I had calculated myself a set of finals. CHAMAD worked out a different set of co-ordinates. Of course, we didn't even consider mine given my track record!!
We approached gz and spotted the cache quickly. Log signed, and cache replaced as found, we made our way to the CITO.
Thanks culture50 for the fun multi.

28-Feb-21
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to Beenleigh and Eagleby, with our main focus was the Eagleby Wetlands so we could attend the tree planting CITO event. Following the successful planting, we walked around the wetlands, before exploring the vicinity further by vehicle. We then partially completed the *Looking around Beenleigh* Adventure Lab, finishing with a lunch at the famous yet busy Yatala Pie shop. In the late afternoon, I then did some hiking and jogging in Mount Coot-tha forest, and primarily targeted the *Get Rekt* Adventure Lab.

We initially misinterpreted the "location" that this geocache brought us to, and so it took a while to find the required obelisk, and that the location wasn’t actually the obelisk coordinates itself, but the general location of the cemetery. There wasn't even any information at the posted coordinates to help locate the cache. We drove around the place, and we located a few obelisks, with what seemed like the last one was the required one.

The required date was extracted, and mathematics performed to soon yield a nearby plausible set of coordinates. We then made the short drive close to GZ, and subsequently located the cache reasonably quickly. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks culture50 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

We are heading to the Beenleigh Historical Museum today, but no day is complete without a cache our trip along the way!

Miss 9 muggle with us spied the obelisk first. Got the kids to help with the maths. Then we were on our way. (Nearly across the road until I saw the sneaky -)

We took the long way to the cache (we are good at that). After encountering many spiders, Mr 7 poked a stick in the right hole.

I was nearby and decided to have a look at this old multi. Very sad to read the names and dates on the obelisk. No problems calculating final location and a quick find. Thanks for the cache

13-Jul-20
I do like a good cemetery based cache and this was fits the bill... when I read “find the obelisk” I had images of Toowong Cemetery and spending quite some time here... luckily that was not the case... crunched some numbers and set off for the cache... as others have mentioned the cache is “damp”... so I’ve bagged all the wet things, wiped out the container, added a new temporary log with some silica and left some Filipino coin... tftc...

Last year I called in here on the way to work to collect the information I needed, but with very limited time decided to save the search for another day. It's my last week in Australia for a while, unless I'm stranded here, so what better way to cram in the caches than to join RoddyC for another maintenance run. Today we went round lots of hides in the Eagleby area, not just Rod's and got quite a haul.
I think this was the only non-traditional cache I got today. Finding the tombstone was easy as I had some help from somebody who knew. The logbook was very wet. I'd just damage it by writing in it. I'll send a photo to the owner. Nice cemetery. Tftc and UTV

Took a bit for us to locate the clue location, mostly because some of us were not sure what we were looking for! Cache coordinates were eventually calculated correctly, and log was signed. TFTC!

29-Feb-20
Now I know where old caches / cachers end up!! Took a PAF to narrow down a search area from GZ. Should have broadened our approach from GZ. Pretty popular spot to hang about. Anyways worked the maths better'er than others and had coords that looked all right. After a short search, the cache was found close to some mourning locals. Thanks culture50 for maintaining this old multi.

Out caching with a group of 5 for Leap Day. Not a big day, but some targeted caches to pick up! This was one of them! TFTC

Old cemetery multi . Fulfilled the needs for the day.

29-Feb-20
Needed to search wide to find the memorial with the info and thanks to a PAF this was finally done. Felt sad for these young men lost at sea. Info gathered, maths done ( in my case poorly ) then off into the bush to locate a very soggy smelly logbook. Managed to scrawl our names onto the wet paper though. Cemetery caches are my fave!

21-Dec-19
Mrs Woodyrothwell was all prepared to jump out of the car and start ripping up the exercise around the cemetery. This was bigger than the last one we visited and there were people visiting and some council workers digging holes for Christmas and she shamed herself out of it.

What could be more interesting to watch then some people mourning their loved ones coming face to face with a sweaty power walker yelling out “feel the burn”. It’s got all the makings of a good Monty Python skit.

My wife had to resign herself to the fact that she would actually have to help me cache. She was wasn’t really helping at all but was scouting the area in case everyone left and she could get her “walk” on. We studied some of the Christmas decorations applied to some of the graves which was thoughtful and creepy at the same time before heading into the bush to find the hide. tftc

What an interesting find. I had to look these names up to see what happened. I was reading an interesting document online but was distracted by another cache and lost it. I didn't record the names so can't find it again. Haha. From what I did read, they may have been suspicious deaths, the dates are mixed up, and they all worked on the same bridge.

Good cache. Thanks. Smile

Continuing my unsated need to locate and sign the older caches before my turn in the cemetery arrives - here I am standing somewhat confused at GZ. Coffee in one hand still mostly undrunk, and the early morning dew settling onto my shoes ... it took a few swigs of the coffee pot before what I had to do kicked in, and I found my target - with a date of some special meaning to me. Well, that took me far too long to work out. But thankfully the math made sense and I was soon standing at a spot that looked acceptable (turned out I was 3 metres off, but let's not quibble over semantics as it ruined a good story). Cache found, cache signed, Prime outa here before the locals think I belong here now.

Thanks culture50 for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #6870}* Cool

There was quite a gathering of polynesian folk at one of the gravesites, thankfully well away from where we were as we'd hate to interrupt.

After finding the required info and doing some calcs, GZ was soon determined and the container located. We left a TB brought back from Canberra.

Mothers day turned out to not be the best choice to visit here for a cache. It was very busy with people visiting their loved ones. Some came for a short visit but quite a few families seemed to be there for the day. I did manage to gather the info for the final coords and plug them into the phone, but decided to leave the final for another day when it's a bit quieter.

The first obelisk we approached turned out to be the correct one, having coincidently parked at an alternate entrance. Trying to find the cache was a little less easier, but it was eventually found at 17m from GZ, still relevant to the hint. TFTC culture50

Out and about on fun day Saturday with the Family. We’re finding it harder and harder to find a patch close to home these days so we thought we’d head back to Eagleby to do more of the Do you believe in..... series

13-Aug-17
Wa wa wa, what the hell is that??? We only just put our head on the pillow!!! We got home last night from the movies after dropping off other kids to their respective parents and thought the night is only young let’s crack open some wine, night not so young any more. When we fell into bed one of us had the fine brain or not to set the alarm to get muggle son to his soccer match on the dark side of the bridge in the morning.

Having arrived at GZ and not working out the description, that is completely our fault, our mind was far too hazy from too much wine and too little sleep. Finally, we get our stuff sorted with the pressure of minimal time cause we had to get to soccer.

Having finally got the co-ords in hand we were off, 5 mins to find before we need to get muggle son to pre warming up. Yeehaw we have it and sign our name. This is a really well maintained cemetery. We obviously got the dates of the tragedies but we couldn't find the story behind it, we would of liked to though. The best we can do for a phlog (photo log) is a selfie cause time is running out and we also really, really, really, reeeeeaaaalllllyyyyy need coffee…

Out with RoddyC to find a few caches in the area.
I enjoy doing caches in cemeteries.
I learn a lot of history from the old graves.
Big difference between old and new cemeteries.

Out and about with geomum. I thought I knew where the obelisk was and I was right. We collected the required information and retreated to the aircon of the car (albeit for a short time) to do our calculations. We came up with some good looking numbers, so made our way there. Once there, the cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
We took time whilst here to visit my father who is resting here.

After a birthday gig on Mt Tamborine, we came by here after the bus stopped at Ruby Gardens, and we had some time spare before our next appointment for the day (another birthday gig!).

The coordinates took us a good 100 meters from where we eventually found the obelisk which gave us the numbers we needed. Then it was just a matter of a traditional cache hunt in the bush.

Log signed and replaced. Found at 5.05pm on 3rd September 2016. TFTC.

**Smilie #4198**

As there aren't a lot of full day's caching around home anymore we decided to head south & pick up some smilies on a few newer releases & a couple of oldies but goodies.
Another interesting idea for a multi.
Most educational & informative. Smile
The initial object of our search was quickly found, data retrieved & calculations easily made which resulted in a set of usable co-ords for the final GZ which wasn't too far away.
The compass wanted to play it's own game at the final GZ but we eventually found the cache about 10-15 metres from where the co-ords wanted us.
Could have just been the weather, it was a little overcast. Smile
All good with the cache.
Retrieved the cache, made our mark & replaced as found.

Set out yesterday on our very first GC adventure but did not understand enough about the game to know what the heck we where doing or looking for.. After getting home and upgrading to premium, we found the info about the obelisk.. Turns out we have already visited this site when we first moved to the area! We found the dates very coincidental - who knew that a year later I'd be heading back there to try and use them to solve new coordinated for a cache? So.. Watch this space - hopefully I'll work it out and be a little less muggle after the experience!

Cemeteries creeps me up. I rather be with alive people. It makes me so sad and think about my great grandmother. I wish she's still around. Anyway this is a great multi. Glad to have some prior help about calculating an offset.

Back again to find this cache and when I arrived a huge family were having some sort of ceremony. They had a couple of shade shelters, cars everywhere and they sang and prayed for ages. I found the obelisk with no trouble today but I had a hike about to find the cache. I signed and replaced it as found and off to find another cache. TFTC

After locating the necessary information we did our calculations and came up with the new co-ords. Found the cache with out too much searching. An interesting cemetery with all the decorations that are allowed to be placed on headstones. Lovely to see.

Thought I would conquer this cache today but the Council men had just dug a grave and were waiting around for the Undertaker to arrive and I looked a bit sus wandering about so until next time it has to be a Did Not Find.

This is certainly a well kept resting place and as I made my way to find the correct obelisk I read many of the scripts on tombs along the way and it was also lovely to see so many with Christmas decorations around them. After finding the required information and a quick calculate, headed to GZ and had a quick find due to the good hint. Thanks CO for bringing me here, a fav point we be awarded & TFTC ☺

We needed a multi cache starting with the letter R for the November challenge and we chose this one. We have always liked to wander in cemeteries and so this was a perfect choice. After being a bit quizzical at waypoint 1 we got the info we needed when geohubby went for a big wander while I was contacting PAF. He located what we needed and waved me over while I was chatting on the phone. With the info in hand we did the calculations which brought us straight to GZ and the cache was in the first place we looked. We found it in good condition and gratefully signed the log. Many thanks for this neat multi Culture50. It's one we enjoyed very much. Cheers! [^][^] For the afternoon's enjoyment and for the correct calculation and cache find we award this another favourite point. Big Grin
