A call for maintenance was made in January. The playground is no longer at GZ so the final cannot be calculated. I tried to guess like some others but am clearly not as wise a guesser since I wandered around for half an hour without success.

After having a look at the pics and knowing the area well we had this in our hands in no time.

19-May-14
Similar to others I found there is no playground at the initial coords. Cache was found using a best guess as to the value of AA and therefore the latitude, from there it was a case of using lateral thinking to track the cache down.

Thanks TimeTeam for a great cache.

We were in the area today but didn't attempt this one once we realized the sums were to be undertaken on a now removed piece of equipment at WP1.

I guess this cache has not been maintained by Timeteam?

We will give the hunt a go via the photographs another day; but perhaps one of the cachers who have found it already could relay the GZ coords to a reviewer to update this so it can be found? Or even figure out some new multi sums for it from the new playground equipment nearby?

If we find it soon, maybe we will if no-one else does?

Cheers

MasterIschi and Arthur and Dent went on a cache hunt during this beautiful Thursday. We collected a series of multi and tradi caches along the Yarra. We found 3 of 4 multi and all 5 tradi caches. " A Spiders Web " was not found since: “With no playground at WP1 any more there's no way to calculate the final coords.”

Found it , could not get the right numbers on the puzzle, my calculations had me 400m from actual location, thanks to the many photos I was able to locate this very full cache tnln TFTC Surprised)

Back today without the kids for a look. With some googling and a couple of guesses there was only one area that the cache could be in I worked my way from one end to the other checking all the likely spots and eventually came up with the cache.
Thanks TimeTeam but with WP1 missing, the calculations need reworking.

Yay finally school is back and youngest child started Childcare so I had some free time for geocaching! Checked out WP1 and was a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to find it due to missing playground ... Punched some numbers in but wasn't giving me very likely places. Took a punt and walked up a hill ... Then wasn't sure where to go so checked out uploaded photos and managed to work out where the cache was! Nice big one with some interesting swaps ... Took a stamp and left a smurf yo-yo. TFTC

27-Jan-14
With no playground at WP1 any more there's no way to calculate the final coords. I've got a pretty good idea of where it is using a bit of modern technology but I'm not about to go wandering around with the kids in the hope we can stumble onto it.
The cache page needs to be updated to reflect reality.

The last day of August and its a stunner of a day for some caching. Today's caching run with Square_Pegs started just before sunrise and this time we headed north of the city which is an area I very rarely visit. The playground is no longer there but that didn't hinder us until we got near GZ and we thought a calculation must have been made wrong and then SP spotted the exposed cache. With the log signed it was re-hidden with a little added camo. Thanks to TimeTeam for hiding this cache.

Reading the cache description piqued my interest and I am pleased to now know the movie that was filmed here. I haven't seen it, but I always enjoy visiting film and television locations. The playground is no longer there, but putting some figures together we managed to reach GZ.
Thanks TimeTeam for the cache.

After last week's DNF, I'd had a bit of encouragement to try again. So again I was out in my luncheon finery (I never go out to lunch - but this was twice in 2 weeks!) and decided to give it another go. This time I drove to the top of the hill. Didn't even get my gizmo out! Went back to where I was last week, then took careful note of the other clues in the various logs and cast my eyes around. The second place that seemed to fit the clues, gave up the cache. So thanks TimeTeam. I got there eventually!

I had to swap something I bought yesterday in Heidelberg so as I was back in the area I thought I would pick up another cache. The car park was quite full but there were only a few people around...Heidelberg workers parking I guess. Wandered around the playground doing the obligatory counting and calculated the location of GZ.

Off I went, taking due notice of the "helpful hint" but missing the track it was referring to...ended up going straight up like a number of others before me. Arrived at GZ and go a little concerned. I was standing where, until recently, a rather large tree had been. Had it been hiding the cache? I looked through the remains where they had been pushed to one side but didn't see any tell-tale signs.

Wondering what to do next, I read through some of the passed logs. Some people had reported the coordinates to be up to 20 metres out so I started to circle looking for possible hides. Eventually I came on the cache and I agree, it is about 20 metres from where I worked out GZ to be. Coordinate error or calculation error? Only the cache owner would know.

Anyway, signed the log, left a TB and hid everything away again. Thanks to the TimeTeam for the effort of putting this cache in.

Not really dressed for clambering after Sunday lunch out. Followed the track to the top. Got confused with recent fallen timber. Decided to give it away. Thanks anyway Time Team.

Myself, Quion and Jez were in the area today hunting caches by bike. This was the next we cane across. Happily we found the playground empty so didn't feel to shifty gathering the required info.
Did a few sums to get the coordinates before moving off to GZ. A bit of harder terrain was traversed on the way, before finding the cache where the numbers said it would be.
Thanks for this fun quick little multi.

Suscoe's 18th and final find of a delightful day wandering around this area of Melbourne.
This was a nice find and we enjoyed the data gathering and then the trip to GZ.
Cache was found as expected.
Thanks to TimeTeam for placing this cache.

Found with Bounty Trackers and KTCvic . We were off to the event today and it was only fitting that we did a few caches along the way. Some silly lunatic had thongs on so it made things a little interesting a few times and I might tell you Bounty Trackers and KTCvic paid out on me for not wearing better caching shoes. Well what more can I say on this cache I think KTCvic and Bounty Trackers have told most of the story except for where they wondered off with there phones and I said I am taking the commonsense approach to this one and Bingo finally I notched up a find, even after I had to climb up the hill nearly on all fours with them pair laughing at me. Now lets try and work out how to get back down to the next cache. Lucky the nice old man let us short cut cause Bounty Trackers and KTCvic's short cut turned out to be a long cut. TFTC TNLN

A knock on the door at 10.30 announced to Trent that his lift to attend the 2012 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards event had arrived. His accomplices on this warmish day was Bounty Trackers and Gonefishen07, and the goal was to grab a few caches to and from the event.

We arrived near GZ and quickly had the worked out co ords for GZ, onwards we went, and what an expedition it was!! Gonefishen07 suitably attired in her thongs made the trek up the hill whilst Bounty Trackers and I viewed the scrambling with amusement. We obviously missed the track that took the longer but easier route, this was almost straight up!! Once we came out in parkland, not jungle we followed our noses to GZ. Splitting up it was Gonefishen07 who notched up her first find for the day. This prompted a suggestion from myself that Bounty Trackers and I went wrong directions to give Gonefishen07 a find finally Wink This joke continued all day, if only it was true because Gonefishen07's caching Foo was running strong!

Thanks for the cache!!

KTCvic ,Gonefishen07 and myself where on our way to the 2012 awards event, and decided to grab some caches along the way. Gonefishen07 had found some that where close to the road and looked like good drive bye ones.
But this was the only multi we did today as it looked a quick one but we where wrong it lead us on a adventure, after grabbing the info required, Gonefishen07 did the maths and what do you know she stuffed it up and forgot to subtract 1, but she did realise her error.
So with the right co-ords we where off and we couldnt cut across the oval as the club was using it. So we went around to find ourselves at the bottom of a very steep hill, I found a track leadimg straight up ( I think it was only for goats ) but we decided it was the way so up we went. Gonefishen07 was in thongs and got half way up and had to take them off. KTCvic and myself got to the top and watched Gonefishen07 navigate her way to the top, thinking she would slip and end up back where she started.
Once we where on the top, KTCvic and myself had our Iphone walking in different direction and Gonefishen07 use her common cense an found the hide, Then KTCvic said to me yep we both went in the wrong direction so she could find it, she believed us as when i walked back to her I said 5,4,3,2,1 look it spot on, with her relying really. NO its about 21 meters out on my phone. So congrats Gonefishen for finally finding one on our day out adventure. Sl Thanks TimeTeam for the cache and the adventure that didnt stop there as we needed to make our way back down we thought we would cut across the backyards of the houses on the top off the hill but found it was a no through track.
So we had to back track but there was a man working in his backyard so KTCvic asked him if we could cut through his yard he lets us and he asked us what we where doing and we explained geocaching to him ( but i think it went straight over his head ). now on to the next cache

We were in the area looking for 'the Bend' and wandered across to have a go at this one. We're always dubious about 'counting' multis and weren't sure about our result. A walk to the other side confirmed that we'd take the advice of previous cachers and drive to the next stage. Having parked the car, we went to a likely spot and 'bingo'. Still not too sure that we had the co-ordinates right! TFTC

Nice cache. Found it easily once I found the right track to go on and got the answers to the questions correct.
Must have picked the wrong detour to go up, as it was very steep. On the way back noticed an easier option....if I only knew!!!

26-Jan-13
Very quiet around the first port of call, which made it very easy to do the maths.
I took your advice and walked to the left, a nice walk to GZ,

thanks timeteam [:x]

Had visited this location a while back, but didn't have time (or kids prepared to be patient) to solve coordinates. Today with kid and his mate figured out coordinates, and tried another app to locate actual cache. Well, we got there. Was busy with other GC app, and didn't check description better, so we didn't take the easy way, we went straight for it, which involved some fairly precarious scrambling. Kids did better than me, but I was the silly one in sandals out for a few easy caches! However, once the obstacle was overcome the kids were distracted by some beetles and it was up to me to find the cache. I talked them out of returning the way we had come, preferring an easy stroll back to the playground, then heading over to the opposite side for a few runs on the Flying Fox.

TNLN, TFTC!

I needed to go to a nearby 'small' hardware store - yes, there are still a few around and they give great service. [^]. When I'd finished there I grabbed some lunch and then drove to my usual park (when I'm at work) to eat it. I turned on the GPSr and noticed that this multi started about 60m from where I had parked the car. Surprised

I worked out a couple of sets of possible co-ordinates from the clues, both of which were fairly close to each other - I find numbers of things in playgrounds difficult and very subjective. Sad I thought about taking the 'direct' route to GZ but noticed that it looked quite difficult so decided to drive there instead. I parked the car as close as I could get to GZ and then had a short but pleasant stroll to GZ. As I approached my first estimated GZ, I noticed a likely hiding spot and to my delight it contained the cache. I signed the log at 5:30pm. Took: a small plastic ruler and Left: an arachnid to protect the cache (plus it's consistent with the theme of the cache).

Thanks TimeTeam for the fun puzzle and cache. I didn't know that movie Wink was filmed here. The area was so nice that I could have stayed for a bit longer but alas I had to go home and get ready for our usual NYE dinner in Richmond followed by watching the fireworks. Cool Happy New Year to all. Big Grin

Found this one today. I was on the trail of caches that I had previously DNFed on and a few others. I had tried this previously with Irontoad, worked out the clues but took the wrong path and I stopped halfway through because it was too hard. Today I worked out (most) of the clues again easily though I misread one instruction and took the correct (recommended) path today and then realised when I got close to GZ that there was no obvious hiding spots near my GZ. I read the directions again and then recalculated a couple of times and eventually found the cache in a neat hiding spot. I signed the log but didn't swap anything today.

Thanks for the cache TimeTeam.

Worked out the co-ords at home, bundled baby in her buggy and grabbed a team member and headed to the entrance nearest the cache.

Found it nearly straight away, baby wanted to take the cache with her LOL
one moody muggle in the area. She didn't have baggies so she dragged her doggy away mid-poo. I felt bad that it was being scolded for just wanting to toilet.

Signed log at 3:34pm, left rubber ducky. Cache has a fair few brill items in it now. Weather was nice out so we went to the playground again

Had a great time, thanks Smile

20-Nov-12
Went out with the idea to find the cache then playtime for the baby. Ended up mostly being play... We suffered noob-itis - calculated the completely wrong co-ords.

Baby enjoyed her first swing and her first slide so it wasn't a complete loss LOL we shall return for that smiley!

Passing nearby so thought I would try for this cache-it's one of the closer ones to home still not done....It's done now tho. Nice easy multi and despite weddings and other things going on, it was all quiet at the GZ. Thanks for bringing me here, it's a lovely area.

I managed to convince the rest of the family to come and help count things, but the siren call of the bigger playground nearby was too much to resist, so there was no way I'd have talked them into walking up to GZ with me. I enjoyed the walk and the find, though... and the flying fox when I'd wandered back to the others. Very Happy

Thanks for a fun little multi, TimeTeam

Did the quick calculations and off I went for a short walk. I spotted the hide with about 50 m to go.

Got to the clue spot, and thought I should sit down and wait till the muggles get out of the way of the swings. Then I heard them reciting something about adding numbers and then multiplying them, turns out they were geocachers Smile A dad and 4 kids who said they don't have a username on the site yet, hi to them if they ever sign up and record where they've been in the past!

Using their numbers and my GPS, we followed the indicated track and had a quick chat before the kids raced forward to find the cache with ease. Nice to meet some friendly people out in the field.

Finished work early nearby so I decided to find some caches in this area. I started at another cache close by and not having any success I walked over to this one. I collected the information, not being certain over one of the answers. However, the calculated co-ordinates looked OK so I decided to give it a go. I had read the directions so I headed left - but obviously not far enough left. I ended up at the base of the hill as others had done. Fortunately there were paths up the hill which were usable, even in my office work attire. Once at Gz the cache was quickly found. Thanks TimeTeam

Most unusual, cache was wet inside for unknown reasons.
cleaned & restocked & new log book.

Nice little multi at the playground and oval; and enjoyed the area of the ultimate prize. Ha ha, didn't read the clue properly so ending up doing some steep, slippery bush bashing! The come down was a lot easier along the track.

Nufrat and I had this as our first find on a caching expedition, took an adventurous route but with team work we were able to conquer the wilds of the park, trees made grabs at us mud slid beneath our feet but give up we would not. Finally making our way to the final destination we found a cache that was full of water. we dried it up a bit, but the log needs replacing.

05-Jul-12
easy to solve with quite a few muggles around, we took the scenic way to the cache, thanks to bexta for her helping hand, cache was full of water, tftc

A nice & simple multi, but I think I might have messed up the sums slightly as my GZ was a little way from where it should have been. I was close enough though to notice a likely hiding place and got lucky. Took TB.

Find # 1701

Today was another day that I needed a cache for my project 366, but I had some chores to do first this morning and finally had a chance to get out and do some caching this afternoon. I had never really cached in the Heidelberg area before, so I packed the bike in the car and off I went.

On the way back to the car in fast fading light, there were many muggles about after the nearby footy matches had finished. I gathered the required information and off I went. I really should read the cache notes in full before heading off. I made things very hard for myself, I tricky climb in the fading light, however, I did get there in the end and after waiting for a muggle to pass by, found the cache. A good fun multi cache.

Thanks to Time Team for the cache. TNLN. Discovered TB.

Enjoyed the challenge in finding this one. Taught me a little about GPS co-ordinate systems and what the app I use needs. First calculation was showing the opposite direction, which did not make sense with the description provided.

Almost forgot to log the visit... had to look back at my pictures to see when we were there!

27-Apr-12
After work tonight (not quite a POETS day alas) I headed NNWish towards a fairly recent cache. On the way I eventually hit the ineveitable northbound traffic jam over the Eastern Freeway and realised my target was further away than I had expected... However I knew that there were a couple of closer caches so after discarding the first due to DNFs, I thought I'd have a go at this one which was previously too muggly to attempt. In the early dark, and despite the nearby muggle gangs in ritual combat (Auskick?) WP1 was mine and mine alone! Smile Information gathered I headed off to GZ, and completely missed the aforementioned track to the left... I discovered it was too late to change course so I took the Top Gear approach ("how hard could it be?") - and realised just why the suggested route was suggested... A T2.5 must have been more like a D4.0 - and there were spiders too (albeit small ones - be just as unpleasant to face-plant...) Thankfully the ordeal was soon over and I was at my GZ. Only... it wasn't quite the intended one, only a bare tree in situ, accompanied by a gathering of spiraled moluscs. That hiding place quickly rejected I presumed my calculations were off so expanded my search until eventually I came across the most likely spot which proved correct (yay!) I extracted the cache, signed the log by the light of passing mugglemobiles (avoiding using my own illumination as much as possible lest it draw attention) and dropped off a couple fo newly gathered trackables. On the return leg I too the proper route and discovered where I went wrong on the way in. Ah well, my daily cache was complete, that's what matters. Thanks for a short but still quite challenging little multi Smile

Worked out the co-ords fairly easily and went off to find the cache. Took the difficult way to GZ and had me chuckling how could this be stroller accessible / kid friendly, saw the path on the way back and realised i am not too bright sometimes. Turns out my answers were a little bit incorrect but saw a likely location and found the cache quickly once i got there. It seems a dog had left their own 'log' right in front of GZ, yuk!!! Cache is chockers with heaps of swaps, nearly could not close the lid. Might need a clean out. TNLN, TFTC.

Not sure if we made an error with counting the items, but we couldn't locate the cache. The photos didn't really yield any success in locating
the cache without the co ordinates either.

Good multi, although we got a bit confused with what constitutes a fallen tree. At GZ our co-ords were in the middle of nowhere, and while I was rehashing some numbers, Josh pops up with the cache. Took geocoin Thanks.

Lots of kids on the playground so I sat at one of the tables and did the required counting. Had just come down the suggested path so took the direct route for a bit of a change.... I like the parkland in this area. Thanks.

Found together with nadya. It wasn't a problem to find the right track (even without hint) but then the calculated coordinate has brought us to the totally wrong place and searching there was no fun at all. Spoiler images saved the situation at last and cache was found in the obvious spot.

You just have to love school holidays. I’d taken a few days off to have the kids at home but they wanted to got to Footy Finals day at the holiday school program at a local school so I organised with a caching buddy, jsmyong55 to go out north and grab a few caches while the kids were being taken care of kicking the footy and eating hot dogs. So off we went and tried to nab as many as we could in the limited time we had. It was a relatively successful day with only 4 DNF but I’m sure they weren’t there. Anyway this is one of the caches we picked up today. After doing the quick calcs we drove to the GZ location. After a quick search i realised the co-ords were wrong, but geosense told me otherwise and I went to look ... bingo. Thanks TimeTeam.

30-Sep-11
After class, it was time for a caching run with caching buddy Trailrunning to grab some caches along the north eastern suburbs. Weather as usual was lousy but we kept on. Found quite a number of caches and few DNFs today.

We initially thought we had the wrong coords after we could not find the cache after awhile. We had almost left but then, Trailrunning turned his geosense on and voila cache in hand. TFTC TimeTeam Smile

We'd tried this one a few weeks ago on a cold, wet and miserable day. We didn't find it but then the search was half hearted and not very thorough! The Chief revisited the numbers as he was convinced he'd made an error. So we returned today with a better idea and it is sunny and warm (bonus)! TFTC

Found the playground deserted today so could be very careful with my counting, not wanting to end up possibly kms away. Determined some coords and thankfully before heading off, had a double check of my counting and found an error which would have been minor but would have added heaps to the search time. Took the lazy option and drove to GZ where the iPhone tool me directly to the cache in the first place I looked. Did the usual sign and took nothing, still no sign of the TB. Thanks to timeteam for a great little multi.

Found with tilla83 late at night our coords were out but after looking where we would hide a cache we found it we tried 4 different calculations and none of them were very close to the cache they all took us to the right at the top of the direct route which was wrong tftc

We tried to find this one, but we were unsucssessful. We walked for quite a while, but I think we missunderstood the hint and our GPS was going crazy!! We will probably try this one another day.

23/03/2011 19:07 Found: #342 I was supposed to be getting take-away for dinner but couldn't resist going after this great little multi. I needed to be careful with my calculations as it's easy to miscount as I found I did when I found that I had a 3km walk. Since this was probably a bit too far, I searched around WP1 to make sure I had collected all the clues and sure enough found I missed some things. With the now corrected coords I headed off and as I was short on time elected to take the direct route (straight up ) to GZ. Once there I looked about quickly and found what looked like an obvious location and sure enough had the cache in hand in moments. Again, like the last, no TBs seen here at all. TFTC TNLN SL

Was my second go at this one after not seeming to get the coordinates right last time. They still weren't right this time it seems, but I just persisted longer with a wider search area! Tnln Tftc

Found at 10.15am while on my way to the local shopping centre. Had looked at the clues last week while in the area but must have missed a log or perhaps it went missing - anyhow checked out previous logs etc and realised where it must be so today walked straight there for a quick find. TFTC

Found after a lovely zig zagging walk up the hill. The girls have enjoyed the playground many times so it was nice to start a cache run there. A cold summer day in Melbourne!!! TFTC left pink guitar pick. Took red dice.
