Went to try this ages ago and the park was fenced off for an event. Was passing the park today and turned on the GPSr to try today - sadly that is the drawback of spontaneous caching, sometimes they are disabled before you look.
Ah well, no wonder I found nothting there...

This one took a while, finally got it. Dried out the temporary log-paper at the sunshine.

definitely some head scratching here - nice to see others have fiound a true red herring! Found the container but no log and no plug where we were sure there would have been one. We signed a piece of paper & wedged it in - think it may hold. What an ingenious cache hide & our delight was heightened when it took us so-o-o-o-o long that dusk came and as we walked away there was an endless stream of bats flying overhead (coming form the Botanic Gardens (?) but going ???? !!!! Amazing TFTC
491 - 3 for today. Found on 21/12/2009 at 9:14 PM.
With Lost Gecko. This was difficult to locate but under the cover of darkness a through search finally came up trumps. TNSLLN

We followed the GPS and found a tree. We checked the tree we looked up and down and around. Then left the tree and look else were. Then we came back to the tree, looked up and down and around. No luck. We sat and read logs, and then went back to the tree. Nothing, then we thought outside the square and drew a line to the cache. GREAT HIDE, GREAT CAMO. TFTH TNSLLN

Very pleased to find this cache. Took a bit of a search, but all became clear in the end. TFTC
a quick check of previous logs helped me pick up this clever hide.
I was down here a couple of months ago to watch the Jets play Sydney FC and parked about 10m from this cache but I didn't have the GPS or cache data with me so didn't know I was so close to it.
Thanks.

Had a real good hunt around but to no avail. Maybe when I get some more experience under my belt I will try again.
No luck. iPhone getting me close but not close enough I suspect. Would appreciate a hint. Do I need a spanner?
Stood there scratching my head for ages, then finally worked out where it must be. Thought I'd go mad checking 'em all, until logic prevailed and I realized I'd have to look for a clue. Found it really soon after that. Sweet hide, Douggy M!
Log sheet is full - started on the reverse side.

just a hint - don't try on or just before a long weekend - tried today (Friday) and 3/4 of the park was fenced off for a rock concert event sometime this long weekend, so I won't log a dnf - we could not get near enough to GZ to look at all.
Dodged sprinklers to get at this one. Took a while, but was worth the search. Saw a cute possum in a nearby tree!
A bright sunny Sydney morning and I decided to stroll down to the SCG. Nearly gave up on this one but I worked out the spot eventually. I don't think this is likely to be muggled! Thanks for the cache.
1480 - Third quick find during some spare time time in Sydney.
I had tried this one way back when I was a caching newbie with no luck. After a while I had an idea where this one actually was and so I got back here today and sure enough there it was - a nice clever hide!
TNLN - TFTC !!

Having now read some previous logs, it's obviously not in the tree where we had concentrated our search.
Didn't find this one this time. Interesting scene. Will be back again soon. Pendlebury. Cache Stalkers
Forth hunt for the day with my friend "Scratches", It didn't take long to work where the cache was. Very good hide.
Cheers

Very clever hide; I had to think a little before locating it, and now I know where the kipper fits in! Thanks, D_Mawson !
I have discovered the best time to search for this - Friday 1pm there is absolutely nobody around.
However, my ability to find these urban caches is still very badly lacking. I looked everywehre I thought was likely and then some unlikely spots too but there was no sign of the cache.
Maybe in a few years, I'll have learnt enough to try again!!!

The posted coords took me to the tree. Now I am tall, but not that tall, so not there.

Up in Sydney for some business and thought we'd do a quick cache. As we approached there was an oval load of Rugby plays running around.... thought we would have to give up... but no... a quick loiter and the cache was in hand... too many eyes around to add name to log.... nice hide... very neat....
yes we found it. can't believe we missed it earlier in the day. sneaky hide tftc
Very clever cache container and hiding spot! We enjoyed this hide. Signed the log. Thank you for the hunt and the cache D_Mawson!
Really cool, I love the ingenious hides. It's a perfect cache to take someone new along and get them "hooked" to geocaching.

Pretty tricky stuff, found it in the morning with some friends after they led me to it.Took 10 minutes finding it nice. Found on Halloween
Very sneaky cache. After puzzling about where it could be, an idea came to me and closer inspection revealed the cache location. I didn't have any trouble getting it out of its hiding spot. TFTC!
My gizmo said go in this direction. A prior log seemed to indicate another. This time I went with the prior log and made the find in about 10 minutes....Will this find help me with other hides by D_Mawson? Who can tell? A very good hide! TFTC!! tv
This one had us looking all over the place as the GPSr just wouldn't give us a good signal under the trees and clouds. Eventually we used a "phone a friend" for a hint which narrowed down the search area and the prize was quickly located. A good hide and an idea that will no doubt be used in future hides TFTC
A very sneaky hide this one, we ended up phoning a friend, we still had to do a bit of leg work though. TFTC SL
This one had us stumped had an idea where it would be hidden but wasn't able to grab it until we had our suspicions confirmed .....
Very good hide.... The local resident was doing renovations on his living quarters while we where there.

Didn;t pay for parking, and so rushed this one to avoid the Brown Bomber. Approached from the wrong direction and had to jump a fence, easier for the humans that the dog! Once at GZ Chip had teh cache within seconds!!! BONUS!
Cheers!

Foudn with Hoojar and geodog Ding. Had to hop a few fences and pass the dog over, although we got a few strange looks from bus driver we signed the log and ran back to the car before we got a ticket.

This is a really clever hide. Alpini invited me along for a spot of night caching. Dutch cacher Jonno joined us too. So off to moore Park we went only to find the area full of socceroo muggles. Ghana was playing Australia.
We searched high and low, before I tried a different tack, no nothing there but on the second go.... voila I had found the very clever cache container.
I really enjoyed this one.

Wohoo, finally we nailed that one down.
At the end tronador had the luck to find the one of so many obvious hiding spots.
Full credit to tronador for finding one of the sneakiest hides in Sydney. Cool.

Had a bit more of an idea where it was and was an easy find. Very cool container/hiding spot.

didn't locate the cache, gave up after a while having walked around the city the whole day.
Another D_Mawson cache that I'll need to visit more than once to find.
Looked in the obvious places where the GPS was pointing (tree), looked along the fence and the lightpole or similar to the south with no luck.

Jumped a couple of fences to get to GZ and then arrived and had a search around. Without some added help wouldn't have found the cache which was a great hide.
Well this one had us stumped for a little while after a lot of searching Frippy was on to it and we had the cache not to long after we signed the log and where on our way again to beat the friday arvo traffic home thanks for the cache Bushy2233...
Nice quick find at 1920hrs after looking in the obvious spot.

Wow! (and ow!) We looked around confused for a while and then worked it out. Unfortunately, the part of my brain that needed coffee took over and tried to complete the find with a bit of brute force (leaving me with sore fingers). GeekHaus brought us back to thinking clearly and we had the cache in hand a few minutes later. In our zeal to get out for a morning walk, we'd gone without a pen so I used a couple of bits of red sandstone to scratch our names onto the log.
This is a clever little cache and was good fun for a morning walk. Thanks D_Mawson!

No luck today...
It was my first search ever as I only got my GPS yesterday and I live nearby...
The coodinates given don't seem to match the description of the cache according to other logs...
Maybe another time...
But it was fun... I think I'll enjoy geocaching!

On foot from Bondi Junction.... K and I were expecting a 'did not find' as D_Mawson's trickiness is legendary... but... as I was looking around a big feature K called me over to the correct area and there it was! .. thanks again D_Mawson. signed log
Well after having a wonder around the shade, i pulled out the pda, and suddenly realised what i was looking for. its not the first time ive seen caches like this, there is a good one down mt gambier, which is slightly similar.
Not having my keys on me, i was stuck for a minute, until i remembered i had a couple of TB's in my pocket. ive now found a new use for TB's!!!

I was starting to think this one had been muggled even though it had been found only yesterday, when one of those thingys was missing I thought the worst, but alas there it was.
Signed the log and was out of there as someone set up home next to the toilet block. Thanks

Arrived at GZ and looked in one obvious place. Hmm no good. Ahh, let's try there. No not there either. OK, time to think laterally. And laterally again. Again. Ahh I know now. Found it. Mighty fine hide. Took about ten minutes in total - a little embarassing. A cache well worth doing.
woah! this is a great cache. this time i came back with a GPS (made things alot easier!) TFTC!
I was in the area so I thought that I would check the cache. All is well and ready to be found.
damn- looked everywhere couldnt find it!
(i didnt have GPS with me so it still could be there)
thanks anyway

Both the caches today were found through logical cacher-like thinking, which gives me hope that perhaps I'm finally getting better at this. My initial guess as to the location was correct and a few minutes of systematic searching turned up trumps. I agree with previous finders - this is very crafty. TFTC!
Took a while to finally find this one, but once I did I was reminded again at the ingenuity of urban caches. Great hide and for those who haven't found it yet...there is no need to climb any trees. Yes, I resorted to that prior to locating this gem. TNLN and signed the log. Thanks.
Big Kipper was apparently in need of being found so we happily obliged. A very ingenious hide and a good find was made by mr bloopy. Our first members only cache. Cheers!
I have not checked this for a while and with a recent DNF I made the trek. All fine with Big Kipper I have also opened it up to all and removed the premium status. Good luck.
another D_Mawson cache to drive us insane. This park was a car park for the football, so we looked a bit 'sus roaming around...
grrr
grrr
I came by to check and all is OK Big Kipper is a bit lonely and needs to be found.
"Big Kipper?, is that some sort of cryptic clue?" I thought.
Eventually I found the cache and worked out what the cache name was all about on the way back to the car. DOH!

This is cache 800!!
The import and I walked across from a nearby cache, squelching as we went, bugger all people around today which is what ya need for this one.
Looked in some obvious places, some, not so obvious places, excavated to a depth of 4.5mtrs over an area the size of a swimming pool, nothing. I turn my back and the import had this one, very nice hide! Tried to fit a christmas T shirt into this one, but, we just could not do it!
Merry Christmas to all from Team Webguy!! HO HO HO

It was where I thought it was, just that I hadn't looked hard enough.

Persistence pays off on this one. I arrived this morning not knowing what to expect and found nothing. Not only was there no cache, but nowhere to hide one. Since others had found it I knew it must be hidden in one of the non-existent hiding places. Eventually all was revealed and the log made.
Found at 10:50pm with pseudo-geek and HeathLet. My first members only cache. Very impressed with the hide, had us scratching our heads for a while (there was some more of that at Six & Out later).

Thought this would be a "no sweat" cache - after "Six and Out" - but found my Fortrex GPSr unreliable near GZ. So quadrangulated with trusty Silva 15T compass, and got good fix. But where the h*** was the cache? Forced eventually to "phone a friend" to discover it was 20cm from me. Can only echo Philma's comment "tricky little bugger". Amazing cache, thanks D_Mawson.
