Interesting find! Today was our first day of a long weekend full of hiking and caching in the Flinders Ranges with a group of fellow Geocachers: davidwazza, gridge98, and *the Godfather* (aka Freddo). A long day of driving with detours and many geocaches planned.

Surprised to not see an abandoned building attribute on this one, especially when there were so many other attributes here. A nice piece of local history and cool to see these ruins and old carriages. Thanks for the cache. Dropped off a TB here.

Found after an overnight stay in the Carrieton Caravan Park. Great little town! Very interesting to read the history and finally learn what a "Whim" is. Explains the name of Whim Creek in the north west of WA.

on the return home from a trip in the flinders rangers. quick find. Another piece of history i would have driven past if not for geocaching.
A quick Loo stop and a cool drink at the General store (Try and buy something from the little towns) in town then back tracked to get a Smiley here.
Thanks for the history at this location. Didn't even notice this place whilst driving past.

We were travelling from Burra to our next destination of Hawker we zig zagged through this picturesque area picking up a few caches along the way.
It's caches like this that have kept us interested in Geocaching all these years, there is so much history here you can almost imagine what it must have been like in it's heyday. We took a little while to find the cache. We made it a lot harder than it had to be but we did get the in the end, we were so happy to find that it wasn't another eclipse tin. We happily added our name to the log and re hid the cache as found.
Thanks Posspet Boys for the cache in this great location, a favourite point from us.

Thanks to Posspet Boys for the cache.
Found during our five week journey half-way around Australia, for the NT Experience OzMega event, somewhere between: ACT -> NSW -> Qld -> NT -> SA -> Vic -> NSW -> ACT.
So many stories to tell. So many experiences had. So little time to mention them all.

We don't call him grumpynutcache for nothing! Reluctant hubby always wants to go from a - b in the most direct and efficient way. Leave after breakfast arrive before dark. Stopping for caches is not part of his plan so actually getting one is a real challenge for me sometimes. I want to thank the people who placed this cache from the bottom of my little caching heart. You have given us a great picnic spot at which to stop on our way to a camp spot at Wilpena Pound AND you have reinforced the training of grumpy that caching can be a great way to find interesting out of the way places that are good for a visit. My first SA cache too so another souvenir as well. TFTC
Found it! A quick find before the sunset. A beautiful place, very green and lush. Probably due to recent rains. The path seems to be a giant ant nest! TFTC SL
Its been a long time since i drove thru here and it is great to see it all so green!

Driving from Peterborough to Cradock, picking up a few caches as we travelled. This one was a easy find, once we managed to pull over with the geovan, and walk back through the dry creek bed. Would have been easier if we had parked in the car park.
Love it when you find a nice big juicy hide in the bush - but I had nothing to hide in it..... Thanks Posspet Boys

Heading south after visiting Farina, and leaving ahead of the rain, we found this cache. The rain has made the unsealed roads very slick, but we managed to achieve our goals. tftc.
Drove past this cache before we'd realised, so had to back track [B)].
Kind of surprised that all these wagons still exist here, as so many of these artefacts would get stolen closer to the city .

An interesting bit of history that if not documented, would be lost forever .

Heading north to the Flinders with Ange and decided to do a few caches on the way up to break up there drive,
Million and 1 bull ants along the path to the cache, and of course I made the mistake of introducing Ange to the Ant piss off foot slam.. Where you slam your foot down on their nest and they all just come running out the hole... so 1 million become 4 million in seconds
Thanks for the cache Posspet Boys

Lots of good hiding places and lots of grass too! Found it after not too much trouble though. Thanks PB
Staying in Wilmington for a few day and today we decided to drive some of these great back roads. We had a great day and saw some amazing scenery and even though the countryside was dry the colours were amazing. [^]
Didn't like the long grass and what might be hiding in there as we headed towards GZ. LLL51 made the find while I stayed with geopup in the safety of the path. No nasties were spotted which we were pleased about.

It was time to head home from a great weekend at the Flinders, but Owl wanted to squeeze in as much caching as possible so joined Ismartis for the trip home (or at least until Eagle and Raven caught up!) On a whim they did this cache, which involved going round and round in circles until the cache made its presence known. Love a good historical cache.
Ismartis was now heading home from a great adventure in the Flinders joined by Dr Owl who was going to be extracted from the caching vehicle by Eagle at some point during the day. But for now there was business to do, fun to be had and caches to find

Despite 2,100 finds, I had never found a cache between 250 and 500 km from home.
At the end of the weekend trip to the Flinders Ranges I now have 14. But this one was the first.
Cache container is a little exposed after 3 visits this month but I am sure the vegetation will grow back very quickly once the winter rains set in.

Central Australia trip Crossing the Simpson and Innaminka, August 2014. After many years away from the Oodnadatta track and Innaminka, it was time for a another tour. This time in Company with seven cars to tackle the obstacles. Caching opportunities were a little thin, but the ones that were out here are all in great places. A great collection of stuff up on the hill to check out while getting to the cache. Thanks.

Day 1 of Flinder's Ranges visit with mogni and Aussie M&M.
From the highway we could see a street light. So we drove round and round but couldn't find the road in. In the end went back to the highway, parked and walked in. By now it was dark and we were caching by torchlight. Found the cache and had a wander around but thought it would be better in daylight. Thanks Posspet Boys.
