Nice quick find during a trip to orange but had to avoid millions of ants that had also made the location their home. TFTC
Gosh! Last place we looked, but it finally did reveal the goods nicely tucked away. We were very very happy to have a small tool to help us retrieve and find this one. Thanks Domsky
I was pleased that we had this one on our to do list as I do like attempting to find the older caches. Didn't take too long to make the find, add our names and replace and we were on our way again. Thanks for placing this cache and maintaining it for so long.
Day 3 of our Bathurst trip with Team Crackers, Geoturtle37 & Papi4506.Today we did a lot of country driving, and included Orange in our travels. The scenery was lovely with the trees turning a multitude of different colours for winter. All puzzles were solved before the trip. This is one of the caches we stopped to find along the way.A quick search and the cache was located, signed and replaced. Many thanks for placing this cache, Smelly Boot, for us and others to find.
Epic fail you pwned us n00bs... You are only as good as your next find.Way to busy to look here.
Found It!
I had pulled almost all the plug things out before I got the right one and finally found the cache. Luckily there was no one else around here today to watch what I was up to!

Cairns to Sydney Road Trip
Day Eight: Orange to Sydney.
Weather: nasty in the Blue Mountains.
Greetings from a transiting South Australian.
The last day, so I’m on the road early. This looked like an easy off/on park and grab, and it was. Thanks for the cache Smelly Boot.

House sitting in Bathurst, of course, includes Geocaching!
Off to Orange, and stopped her for a multi as well. Quickly found with the aid of a TOTT.
Log signed and cache replaced as found at 12:33 pm on 29 December 2022. TFTC, Smelly Boot

Pulled out the TOTT , used our experience and start the elimination process. TFTC
Gave up on this one. It verges on vandalism to expect a whole heap of caps to be taken off. A marker of some sort (spot of paint or engraving) would still make this a good hide without all the gouging out with various tools. This is meant to be a constructive comment. You may or may not agree.
Thanks anyway.
Thanks anyway.
Used to be a similar hide on the way from Mudgee to Lithgow. That one took ages, this was luckily in the first spot we checked.
Lots of ants have made the hidey hole home, other than that cache is in order
Thanks!

A quick stop while passing through. Managed to get it right with good coordinates and a bit of luck

I'm on a week long road trip to Orange for an orienteering event with a new caching focus - caches with 5 or more favourite points or a terrain or difficulty rating greater than 2.5. Other caches may be found as 'caches of opportunity' along the way.
With a bit of time to spare there was time for another cache, this one was on the target list.
Thanks for the cache Smelly Boot.

Dnf but realised after we left we were looking on the wrong side after looking at a YouTube link of someone finding it below
Headed to katoomba for the weekend for a mates wedding finally. Been many delays with covid and all but nearly 9 months after the initial date we are nearly there. My sons first time to the blue mountains too. Hopefully it will be a magical experience as it always has been for me. Decided to break up the journey and grab half a dozen caches along the way.
Caches we chose were mostly along the route we travelled. Easier to grab and keep going. Beautiful weather. Tops of 22 for the weekend.

Found with Crafty Dusty and the geopooch on our way home to Sydney from our Campervan trip out West. Clever spot, but I’d just like to add, what seemed to be “a few ants” at GZ previously is now an ants nest. Once we found it and opened it we were showered in ants and unfortunately there was no way to put it back without injuring them as GZ was teeming. Bit of a bummer, but an interesting cemetery-thanks for showing us Smelly Boot
Fairly quick find. Did have to do a couple of circuits.....warm up for our trip to Bathurst TFTC
At long last have managed to snare this one. First started looking a few years ago on and off but glad to say have now managed to log it.
Straight forward find in the end with no muggles around

After a trying day, I decided to do a little caching before returning home. High muggle activity everywhere I went today! So this meant I was not successful. I was not about to give up then decided to attempt this cache and bingo. X marks the spot. I signed the log and placed it back into position. Tftc smelly boot. I left orange with a smile
We moved to Macquarie Woods today from Bathurst as it is such a lovely place to camp. We enjoyed our geocaching between here and Orange. So green now after the recent rain and we loved the scenery and history.. Nice hide. Thanks to Smelly Boot for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Kinda a weird place to hid a magnetic cache but still smart. TFTC (X marks the spot) (;
Another if day out caching. Today it's all about getting home. Long drive from Orange to Shellharbour with lots of caches on the way. Was getting sunny and warm quickly, but otherwise good caching weather.

To repeat what’s already been said please don’t cause any unnecessary damage - find the “X” which marks the spot. TFCC
Backdating some found caches, heading west to assist with training and decided to stretch the legs and get some smiles along the way. Logged under old name

Yes, we geo hunters have sure damaged the furniture.
X does mark the spot.
No log sheet so I put one in.

After having completed the nearby cemetery cache, we walked up to this one. It could clearly be seen that others had been searching all possible hiding places. You could think whether this is a good way to hide a cache, seeing the damage that the search causes the structure itself.

I'm not a fan of this hiding style, as you quickly see the damage cachers make while searching through the options. We scrolled through old logs and found the helpful advice that **X marks the spot**. That told us which one to search without adding to the damage already done here. Using that advice the cache was quickly found.

Together with my son I embarked on a six day road trip from Sydney via Bathurst, Parkes and Dubbo to Bourke and back to Sydney via Mudgee. In total we clocked over 1,700 kilometers and along the way we stopped almost 90 times for grabbing a roadside cache.
Driving the Mitchell Highway this was a welcome stop again. Not just for the cache, but also to stretch the legs. It took some time to find the cache but after reading some of the past logs it became a bit clearer.

This was going nowhere until I read some of the logs and found some specific advice. However, when I looked up, YGAT was already pointing to a likely candidate and, ta-da, there it was. Phew, thanks Smelly Boot.
This was tricky until I spotted something worth investigating. Of the ones we tried this was the most difficult to remove but, thankfully, the cache was there. Thanks.
Took a little persistence but I finally found it. Not much muggle activity so I had time to look around. tftc
Note: To prevent damage to fingers and property, might be worth scrolling down to 28/2/2015 log. - Had our share of muggles at this site but managed a find between visits. Left a small smiley indicating our joy in finding the historic cemetery ( worth a wander, while waiting for muggles to depart.) Hard to find space on the log to sign. Tftc Smelly Boots.
Tried all the obvious spots then got muggled out. So far this trip to orange has resulted in 3 dnf's.
Awesome hiding spot. Stopped here for lunch many times. Nice little rest area.
Just uploaded **YOUTUBE VLOG** of me finding this Cache!

We have set up camp at the showground overnight. We completed the lake walk in the morning then onto the Gnoo Blast in the afternoon, finishing with a tiki tour of the country side before heading home.
After a DNF in 2013 we were pleased to find this one today.

Found as part of an Orange and surrounds geomission with fitzy_1965, AngelG27 & Sol de Lune (signed as FASS to save time & space) Top weather, great company and lots of laughs meant for an epic weekend of caching all round!
Fitzy and SDL had made the find on this one ages ago so AngelG27 and I were on our own here. After a process of elimination the cache was in hand for the signing. I noticed X marks the spot with this one

Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX, Sol de Lune and I (logged as "FASS") headed from Canberra to Orange and surrounds for a caching blitz over the 30-31 July weekend. We logged around 1000kms in the Geo-Jeep, selecting those caches that Fitzy had not previously found. I scored around 130 caches for the trip. The visit was characterised by blue skies, very green paddocks, lots of water off and on the road, a fair amount of mud, and good company! Still plenty of caches to collect and scenic spots to explore on a return trip. Thanks to my fellow travellers for a fun weekend, and the COs for all their efforts in putting out and maintaining the caches.
12th for the day around 0900 (87th for the trip). Fitzy and SDL already had this one, so this was a quick find for SpecimenX and myself. Love these older caches still in action, thanks Smelly Boot!

Found while out and about caching around Bathurst with CAD - found this one while in the way to Orange .... Ants ants and more ants .... Geohubby had the perfect tool to locate this cache!! Soon found the right one T4TC:)
Another good one. Didnt take long to find. Log getting full. Note to next person bring sonething to knock out some crawlers
Last day of the holiday trip, let's go back to the east. Another five hundred kilometres on the dial, but thanks to geocaching never a dull moment.\n\nAnts. Hundreds of them. Thousands of them. Every piece of table I looked in had more than the previous one combined. They are on my phone, on my pen, on my hands, on my bag, on my arms, on my shoes. This was not worth it after the sixth wave of them.
We found this cache quickly as we have found this type of hide before. There were no muggles around to hinder the hunt and after the log had been duly signed the cache was put back into place. Thank you for bringing us to this area and thank you for placing this cache for us and other cachers to find.
