Two attempts to find the numbers, used previous logs as hints, natural growth is hiding them, then good hunt at GZ needed littlest caches hand to get the cache. Easy multi for multi haters staying at the holiday park
A nice, easy one to let the kids do. A piece of paper and a pen and they were away. Finding the cache was straightforward too. Tftc
We sat and had lunch with wonderful view of the footbridge - the perfect holiday picnic spot. No trouble getting the coordinates from the sign on the Telecom post, but we had to laugh... well done!
Turned out to be a nice day after a wet and windy night at Otamure DOC camp. We went to get the cache half way over the bridge and decided to carry on to get the mystery cache which we have now found in good order. Thanks for setting this one up.
Loved this easy multi thanks NFA.!
Had to laugh when I saw where final is.
All safe and sound...
Favourite Point coming when I get some more !

Broading my horizons and finding a few mystery cache. Easy enough with straight forward puzzle.
First ever multi-cache! Great fun decoding the coordinates and then finding the cache. TFTC!
Such a great hunt we had to revisit cache site as the first time their was a festival all around it- love the bridge - worth a visit!!!
Nice and easy to locate the starter numbers, and amazingly the maths ticked in straight away too!. Headed to GZ and soon had the cache in hand. Had to walk the bridge of course and spotted an eagle ray in the middle - both ways passing.
It's the last full day in the area today and mrs and I decided we were going to head out of town and up to Waitangi and Bay of Islands. A also noted that there were some TMGTs to be grabbed in the area and they were to be the focus, the Kaikohe duo were a bit too far off route and so were left for 'another time'. A good day out and saw some great sights and the weather played nicely too, nice one. We started the day at the site of the longest foot bridge in the Southern hemisphere at Whananaki South.
Heading north for Christmas, we're off to Ngunguru for 6 days along the Tutukaka coast and accompanied by our youngest daughter, middle daughter and family, and will meet up with one of our sons and his family too, so a busy time. Had a great time away and ate well, watered well and a bit of fishing and kayaking, awesome weather mostly too in Northland.

Finding the right sign was the longest task for this one. We enjoyed the walk across this bridge. Lovely piece of New Zealand. TFTC
Walked this bridge many times but only attempted this cache once before. Had me seriously puzzled but found it today. No muggles as we are in lockdown.
#920. DNF avenged. Had attempted this one in the past bu there were too many muggles at GZ - in the meantime I lost my solved coordinates so starting from scratch a quick solve, a walk, and a quick find. TFT(long)C.
Great fun finding this one. Little confused on first stage but then no problems. FP for adventure. Thanks! All good at GZ.
I found this cache during my Irish summer holidays in a Jucy Camper van. Thanks for the Cache .
Took us a while to find it since we kept looking at the wrong sign with the wrong numbers Took some nice photos on the bridge and had a nice walk. TFTC!
Lovely location. Nice stroll along bridge after solving the coordinates. Tftc
Awesome.
Deserved favo.
TB in. (It just fit)
We released our Dutch coin to travel and stay in New Zealand, because the Cheeseheads and Aussies are historically connected.

We were just about out of time. I used Google maps and figured out we had 25 mins not 10 before we had to head home to collect kids. What a cool bridge. We met one lady in the middle who wanted to chat. My friend ended up chatting while I dashed off to get the required info. Came back and said "Sorry, but we've got to go". Luckily the cache was quickly found as I was so close and just wanted those extra 10 points. A great little multi, thanks
Yay found it! One of our very first multi caches, so very pleased to have found it. We are loving Whananaki
Third time lucky..... yay finally ticked this one off, started from scratch finding the clues and working GZ out. Nice hide and very happy to get that smiley... fav from me.
Thanks for this multi, it is well thought out and made for an enjoyable and photogenic walk. The calculated coordinates worked out well and the container was found right away. Another favourite added
Beautiful anniversary day weather, so headed out to the coast for a walk on the beach and pick up some caches as well.
Nearly went for a walk over the bridge first before solving this one, so glad we spent 5 minutes to work it out and make the lovely walk across the estuary doubly worthwhile. Watched a school of large herring cruising the shallows for a while as well.

Good walk over the bridge and back to get this one. Took some time to work out code but managed it in the end. Found cache but only log book there. No treasure but we've now put something there now!
(2286) Finally had a chance to head back out and have another go at this multi. Success this time with a quick find. TFTC
The large wooden sign with the numbers on has been removed.
Have redone the puzzle using the numbers on the telecom post

super procházka po takovém mostu s luštěním byl problém, 6místné číslo jsme nenašli, ale souřadnice jsem logicky skoro odvodil a bylo to správně

Couldn't find the 6 digit number but found a banksia "opposite" the coordinates. After 3 attempts at finding the cache I have it in hand.
The bridge was open at the time of finding so I made my way across from Whananaki after spending the night at the rented out hall for a friends birthday. I had trouble finding this cache because I couldn't find the number described in the description of this cache. No-one else has logged it despite my not logging this for two months, so I'm wondering if any others have had a similar issue?
A very picturesque place, and I'm glad I came here all the same, so cheers!

Yay finally got hold of this one. We have been meaning to get it for some time but never got to it for one reason or another. Thanks for the cache and the walk on this blustery day.
Hi there thanks for the fun but couldn't work out the east cordinanc may be had the wrong number as used the number on short post thanks
We had found the the number after a "long" search. In the end I was relieved to find it, as this was one of the must finds for our weekend away. After calculating the co-ords we continued on our walk to out to the coast. When we returned it was too dark to search for the cache, and we had no torches, as we had not planned to be out so late. On our return we spotted people in the water flounder fishing, with the spears and lights! So today, another walk over the bridge, this time to see it at high tide, then we collected the cache. Thanks for this clever multi
After seeing the bridge on Marcus Lush's North, Coasters and various other shows, it was time to check it out for myself. It did not disappoint. Took a while to get the required numbers but got there in the end. After a walk along the ocean beach light ran out to collect cache, so headed out the next day. Idyllic spot.
Took an evening stroll with kiwitrecker1 and the kids and successfully located the required digits allowing us to head for the cache location. When we got there some muggles were in close proximitiy and looked like they were in for the night so we headed back to our campsite and returned the following day and located the cache. We really enjoyed exploring this area, TFTC!!!!
Great little brain teaser but the cache is definitely been muggled! Remnants of nail and fishing nylon suggests we were in the right spot.
Found banksia and what looked to be the awesome hiding place at base but no container!
#6187. Enjoyed this one (nice idea to make it a multi and get people to cross the bridge). Good to see the bridge "in the flesh" after seeing it on TV. It had been a pretty full day's caching, and the school pupils were long gone (helped minimise the muggle factor). TFTC.
We had watched a TV series about coastal communities in NZ, and this bridge had featured in one of the programs. We were intrigued, so had a look at the geocaching site to see if there were any nearby caches (which increases the likelihood of us visiting). Sure enough, there was so this was another on the must do list for our Northland trip.
StreetWalker soon found the numbers, and nearly as quickly, we had some co-ords. Enjoyed our walk on the bridge and finding the nicely camoed container. This cache ticks all the boxes. TFTC.

Crossed the bridge a few times on various expeditions while staying here. This one worked out fine until arriving at final specimen to find 2 horses tethered to it and big group nearby keeping an eye on the horses! Decided to wander back a few hours later which was just a a well as a close look was required
Nana and 9yo nephew were off to walk across the looooongest footbridge in the Southern Hemisphere, and we thought it would be great if there was a geocache nearby for them to find. We discovered this one - which would be our first multi! From the start point coordinates and clues, I worked out the probable coords of the cache site, programmed both sets of coords into the GPS and sent them on their way (while I went to work )!
On arrival, several wooden structures were sighted - but no six digit numbers were apparent. Morning tea was then delayed in a fervent (and finally fruitful) search for the elusive six digits! Nephew was the discoverer - and let the wildlife in the area know it!
Adjusting my estimated coords appropriately, the hunt was on for the booty - although the GPS was abandoned when the named species of tree came into sight. Much rooting around ensued until the cache was finally discovered - again by nephew, whose face split into a grin wider than the river mouth! Log dried out and signed, cache replaced, and lunch was enjoyed on the beach nearby before the return journey. TFTC

Thank you for bringing me to this beautiful place. The stroll across the bridge was great.

Checked cache. 6 digit number in place. Cache in place...all ok. Upped difficulty rating due to the difficulty people are having finding it.
Loved the foot bridge but could not find the number or cache - never mind, worth a visit
Found the number and headed for GZ. Found the Banksia tree, but not one additional clue tree within 5 metres of this tree. Look further afield, but no luck today. Will revisit another day.
Yes my apologies too...the updated info from the CO made us rethink and relook and yes this time we found it only to then stumble at the final. GRRR...lol as flowernz said we did not give up easily but had to in the end. We will be back and will be 3rd time lucky !!
Oh man!!! We are kicking ourselves that we never found the 6-digit number last time we were here - apologies to No Fixed Aboder for implying they may have been removed or structure may no longer be here!! Follow the advice to 'look harder' and you too shall achieve success... then did the maths and after an initial blip [that had us heading down Auckland way] we rechecked and found a beautiful banksia tree - then followed other advice - and 4 of us looked and looked and poked and prodded and extended search area and repeated all these usual geo-moves... No luck today - will be back is can't let it beat me 3 times...
Love this bridge - the day was beautiful and while in the area we wandered up the estuary for another cache... I have done some relieving at the local school in this enviable location - maybe I should take the kids to help me - nah - better not - they might 'remove' cache...

Excellent multi. We had an idea of where to find the info as we have had to look for similar clues before but even then it took a wee while. Did the maths and it all made sense. Only problem is after the looong walk we had completely forgotten that we were meant to look for a cache. Clambered back out of the car and after initially focusing our search in the wrong place we found the cache. TFTC
After many feedbacks on maintenance need I have investigated
FIRSTLY the wooden structure is still there with the numbers...please look harder
SECONDLY the origional cammo cache is still there under the origional tree where it was first placed...once again please look harder.
Therefore no maintenance was needed

What a great bridge, lots of fun was had by all as we ran, walked and skipped across the bridge to complete this fun multi. The wind was whipping up and as we reached the middle it got quite cold but nothing could dampen our enthusiasm. Thanks for the chance to stretch our legs and enjoy this lovely area. Lucky locals! Could not find 6 digit numbers last year so came back this year. When I found it I could no believe easy is was.
Great hidden final location too.

This was a fun multi so am glad to see it didn't get archived.
An FYI to anyone in general as there are so many features to learn,
if there are caches that you dislike or find annoying, there is an option "ignore listing". With a couple simple clicks of the mouse, presto! those pesky caches won't show on your PQ's any longer

Can this cache be replaced or archived so it doesn't keep showing PQ's.
It's been disabled for months.

Out with Butchie Bum in the Geonut when we tackled this cache. Replaced the cache near where the final should have been but some gardeners and been pruning like I do! Off at ground level! Ha ha CO has updated the calks so you'll all be able to complete this. TFTC
Out enjoying the area with Rednum6 in the Geonut.Really enjoyed this one as the loooongest bridge is great between both sides for a wee short cut. Muggles about enjoying there summer holidays. wonderful place of which I will be back thanks.
The wooden structure and numbers are still there, but alas the final has been removed with a through gardening. I have emailed CO with details. Lets hope this can be back in action soon.
In the north for a few days caching, Found the numbers with out too much of a problem. Worked it out and off for the walk. Have seen this green and pink log book before. Good hide. New walk way going in along the river to the cache site. Full tide made it a great place for a walk.
Left a white stick for the other to use.

Out with tikitour and like others we were unable to find the digits or any 'wooden structure' with any numbers on?? The DOC signage looks fairly new so wonder if relevant 'wooden structure' has been replaced? Will keep an eye on this one to see if it has any maintenance done as is an awesome spot for a cache.
Was out this way on the 20th July and checked the numbers - were all there still but it was the original sign. I noticed some other signs in the area had been replaced so good chance this has been replaced. I am due out again in the next few weeks so will have a check of it.
With the latest information on the new signage will need to check this one out.
A shame DNF as was most enjoyable at this GZ. The bridge is great. Appears as thou the numbers may have been ripped off the woodern structure and only numbers on a concrete one which was of NO use. Maybe worth a check as such a long drive out here. Thanks. Will look forward to a redo when we see some Finds on the log sheet.
only found some co-ords on a concrete structure and they didnt compute
mind you,we were trying under a full moon at night which added to the experience

Now that was fun - Mr P and I especially liked the time warp that happens when you cross the bridge and enter NZ 30 years ago. t4tc
could not find the starting co-ors. enjoyed the walk over the bridge. Thanks for bringing me here
TB Dip "Priscilla" wants to visit bridges and is travelling to Melbourne...
#121 Man was I out, lol, by 300m. Found after a while searching through all the half dead flax bushes. Found and went on to the tides.
Went to Stage 1 and Couldn't find 6 digit code first, should have looked where i found it after i got back, facepalm, I went across the bridge and had a look around where i thought it may be. There seems to have been a tree cut down next to a flax, could have been GZ not sure without right coordinates and time running out, will have to check next time I come out for the others accross the estuary.
Nice to finally knock this one off having started it almost a year ago when the final was missing. Cache appears to have been visited by muggles, but they left it well hidden. Stage one still in dissarray but still there.

Found the numbers on dismantled apparatus, hopefully not to be removed. The clues weren't much help to me, but GZ was good with a bit of searching. T4TC - M@
At long last!! 3rd or 4th time lucky - what a difference a GPS makes. Fantastic day. Found with DeadRockFlower, KingLuna, PrincessLuna, 2 wee bucks. TNLN. T4TC!!
Found this at long last! It has been a thorn in our sides trying to work it out with no GPS and not being able to find the 6 digit number. Found it easily with GPS and found the 6 digit number easily this time as the wooden structure has sustained some damage! Great feeling of achievement by all involved! TFTC. Took little ballet pig and left The Black Jeep TB.
That is one looong bridge! Takes quite a while to cross, but the view is great. Imagine crossing here twice a day to get to and from school! Thanks for showing us.

Stopping for a while at Whananaki North. The Slug is having a experience of traversing the longest foot bridge in the Southern hemisphere. Wonder how long it will take him???
With so many DNFs, probably time to check if there is any cache around please.
Looks like the cache is missing due to extensive gardening. Will be there in about a month to repace it.
This is the second time we have tried to do this cache. Got all the info, but theres no sign of any cache.
