Kyms Adventure and I are on a WA campervan trip working holiday and nabbing some caches on the way Cache Experience: Awesome trip from the camp site and how it opens up to the tank area TFTC and bringing us to the spot! Cache Condition: GREATThis is cache number:51509:57
#301 TFTC on a 3mth working holiday with Defcon_6 travelling across WA. A little caching to be done along the way. We camped overnight at Bromus Dam
We are on our way back over to the West for a friends memorial service but this trip we are taking our time , enjoying the drive and picking up a few caches and taking in the scenery. We are mainly concentrating on Ad Labs, Earth caches and Virtual's as these don't give you any muggle problems. Of course there will be others in between. This one sounded interesting so we decided to have a try and again our so glad that we did. It was a really interesting structure around the base that wasn't holding any water but some of the rock holes did have.Once at gz we admired the views while searching for the cache which happily didn't take too long and after adding our name to the log we returned everything as found..Many thanks for bringing us to this great location.
We followed the dirt track up to the tank, then the tank line back down to the dam! Nice views from up here, & it was very relaxing to sit & view the dam & seeing people try catch yabbies.
Heading to QLD picking up a few LGAs on the way. Thanks COs for placing and maintaining
We thought we were just pulling in to a free camp for the night but Bromus Dam is far more interesting than just a dam. The water harvesting system was a clever bit of engineering and it all makes sense except for the tank... How did they get the water up there? And there was a cache.. TFTC The Enchantress.
Beautiful view from the water tank. Cache an easy find and in good condition We all really enjoyed this little walk. One dog was a little unsure in some spots but the other had the time of her life bounding up and down like an Olympian!TFTC FF
That was a quick one as it is pretty mad raining today but still appreciate the spot and a nice cache
We have crossed the Nullarbor, and today we are driving from Norseman down to Esperance. This looked like an interesting place to stop and go for a walk, and we are so glad that we made the decision to do so. While the dam was interesting in itself, the walk to GZ is quite amazing and the manner in which the water can be channelled down, from the granite monolith to feed the 1 km pipe and the dam is really quite extraordinary. Log signed. AFP added here. Thanks The Enchantress Domsky .
A real cool cache. The story behind to colelect wather for the Steam Locomotive is realy great. The environment phantastic. Thank you very mucht to the Enchantress for this awsome Cache. Warm regards from Switzerland.
Reaching the path on the Dam was a wonderful experience. I was also enthusiastic about the history of water collection. I am happy to leave a green heart behind. Greetings from the traveling Swiss.
Good walk. Took a bit of looking but no dramas. Qwackers the black duck was there and it even whent to take food out of our hands, it was rather friendly. We put a pencil in the cache.TFTF
Tftc! Cool walk up the pipeline, and the black duck in the Dam is rather friendly. No pen so couldn't log, but easy find in a spot worth stopping for an overnighter
What an incredible area! So much (past) infrastructure - little stone walls. We camped near the dam overnight and went for a walk this morning - a great cache! Tftc!
Yay. I found it this time. I looked in January with bare legs and bush bashed thru the bush as I didn't know about walking up the pipeline! My phone wasn't giving me directions so gave up after looking for a while. Thankfully I did find the pipeline to walk down. Much quicker and easier! This time with a new phone and walking up the pipeline and looking for orchids at the same time I found it easily. My phone took me straight to the cache. I forgot to bring a pen like a previous person suggested! Thanks for the cache. A lovely view - now a long drive home.
We camped here last night and wandered up the pipeline enjoying the sunrise. Amazing view and it was really interesting to see the way they've channelled the water here. We met the famous duck and fed him some meal worms. Tftc
Lovely walk up side track to the watermark, then a quick find. Not sure why you have to drive onto the rock. Great place to camp also. Tftc
Def worth going for, neat drive up (in a 4wd not your mums corolla!!) A favourite from me due to fun factor getting to it and the amazing vista once there! Tftc
Thanks to the tourist info for advising us to stop here. It was lovely to walk the pipe to the end and see how they used to catch water for the dam. Duck quacked and said hello when we arrived. Signed and returned. Fav for us. TFTC
A trip to Perth checking out some of the awesome places along the way in ACT, NSW, Qld and NT. Grabbing some old caches and missing LGAs. TFTC.
A great spot with an excellent view. Nice.

Great find! Spent the night camping at the Dam on our way to Esperance. Great walk, would never know all that awesome rock was up there otherwise. Thank you!
Found on 7/12/2022; find number 1595.
Having done 800km days for the last week hauling a JetSki from Geelong to Perth and starting back, I decided a lay-day in Norseman would be worthwhile before heading out into the Nullarbor again.
I enjoyed the heritage drive down from Norseman and this was sort of related. This is find 1600 for me and included many of the things I enjoy about caching….. bit of 4WD, bit of a walk, an unexpected thing at gz. Would not have expected that up there, although I knew something along those lines was there.
The hilux got to within 250m of the cache with no drama, then it was Shanks Pony for the last bit. Cool container.
Fav from me for all of the above.
Thanks for the hunt and the cache The Enchantress.

Found while camping at the dam. Interesting place. It is like exploring the remains of some long lost civilisation. Thanks for bringing me out here.
Interesting water collection that has received a fresh supply yesterday in the storm
I have replaced the broken container and cleaned out rubbish from the old cache. Byo pen

Spent the night camped here - loved the walk - the engineering in diverting rain water from these rocks never ceases to amaze me. TFTC.
Adelaide to Perth Roadtrip.
Day Four: Madura to Grass Patch.
Weather: showers!!
First cache of the day more than 350km from my starting point. I think T 1.5 is understating it a bit here, but the showers had stopped and it was a nice walk to the cache. As the recent entries have noted, the cache is not waterproof and needs replacing, but it has been hidden in such a way that todays rain has not caused any problems. Hopefully this cache can be kept alive as there are all too few caches along the Eyre Highway.
Thanks Enchantress.
Heading from Peak Charles to Kambalda and found a few along the way
The Enchantress, I found Walk the Line from Bromus Dam today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Beautiful walk on a windy day. We left a star and a piece of our hearts. This find is for you, our beloved Glyn. (Husband and father to us Dewilliams Girls) Four years today, you left this earth, but we know in our hearts you are with us still. Li ing and guiding us in our adventures together around Australia. Love you forever. Your Girls. TFTC
Amazing how many metres of channeling was made around this area.

Found with Barneycache. Nice little walk to the top and everything in good condition with cache. TFTC!
We walk from the camping area. The batteries in the GPS went flat just moments after finding the cache. The Enchantress for a good cache and an interesting location.
Found it. TFTC The Enchantress.great walk up the tracks following the GPS contents are dry and in good condition. I replaced as found. Thanks for bringing me here.
Cache container is perished and starting to crack and break. Lucky the holes are in the bottom and despite todays rain tier contents seem safe and dry. I love these landscape here. TFTC
Enjoyed the walk up from the dam along with pipeline, lots of interesting sites.
Cheers for the find!
Cheers for the find!
After rolling out the swag last night in the rain at Thomas River in the Cape Arid NP, I headed on to Esperance quite early, hoping to get up to Norseman and on the Hyden Road by tonight. But as is so often the case, with me at least, I got sidetracked and didnt even make it as far as Norseman! No surprise really, given that I wasn’t even planning to come down this way on this trip.
The weather has been woeful for the last day or so. It bucketed down last night and has rained on and off for most of the day. Great for the farmers, but not quite so great when you are camping. Looks like more rain as I set up camp tonight.
The ingenuity of the early settlers in the area in tapping these water sources is fascinating. Cache had been muggled and scattered about the place. However the logbook was dry in its plastic bag and the contents were OK. The container has seen better days though and really needs replacing. I gathered it all up and put it back together in its hiding spot where it is reasonably well hidden and protected.
Thanks The Enchantress for the cache.

The view from the tank is amazing. The salmon gums around the dam and carp in dam interesting tftc
As our journey through South Australia and back in to Western Australia continues, we pulled in to the Camping area for a stop over.
Headed out for a beaut walk along the pipeline and up the granite hill.
Very interesting to see the retaining walls to collect all the water for the dam.
We had found your cache tucked away nicely and with signing duties done and dusted we replaced the cache as found.
Great to be able to be Putting a smiley here now as we are heading back to the West Coast.
Thanks for sharing this spot to stop and stretch the legs, sharing the local history, after a nice quiet overnight camp, we continued on our journey.

Driving back home to Albany from Eucla today with Hplug, a perfect spot for a quick stop, driver swap and of course a geocache! We drove up the track as far as we felt possible as we had a trailer, and walked the rest of the way to the cache! Nice and warm on the rock, rewarded with an amazing view! Great location well worth checking out! Cache a quick find, happy to report everything in good order! Thanks for creating and maintaining this cache!
Found on our back home from Eucla with Big o9. Track a little rough on our tool trailer but worth it for the view. TFTC
We took the car to within roughly 100 meters from the Tank. It was
nice to still see some wildflowers around and beautiful views of the
region. Lots of people have made numerous small cairns but one
formation was a little different. Found, signed and replaced the cache
then took some pics. A fave for the views....
Thanks to The Enchantress

Travelling Australia since March 2014 now we are making our way west for a visit with family.
Heading towards Esperance, today we moved from near Fraser Range to just past Norseman.
Stopped on the side of the road here and unhitched before heading in to find this cache. Great history thanks for sharing it with us.

Third day of our 'loop' trip following the wildflowers and grabbing some caches along the way.
Had intended to stay in Esperance a few days but the weather was foul and hail forecast and much the same for the next few days so decided to head for Kalgoorlie. Parked around 600 mts from gz and 'walked the line'. Found the container replaced by a previous finder.

Great walk through the bush from our caravan. Went back via the covered pipeline from the dam. Contents as described before. Intend going again in the early morning with a container and new log.
I was planning on doing this cache the day before but a thunderstorm with heavy rain came through so left it until today. After an early start I headed off to find the cache. The 'cache' was easily found however the container has been taken and then contents left under a rock. Will need some TLC soon. TFTC.
Unfortunately the cache container has been taken and the contents have been taken. It will need replacing.
Found while have a days break in my travels in Norseman. I took the car in as far as I was prepared to go with it then hoofed the rest of the way, some 300M's odd. I found what was left of the cache quickly but the cache is in a poor state. Basicly I found the contents minus the log book under a small sheet of metal that was inturn under a couple of flat rocks. Normally I would try to make tempory repairs but I didn't fancy another return trip to the car to get some caching items and I don't have any container to speak of. TFTC.

*Grabbing a few caches whilst I pass thru*...
Yet another wet, windy day with scattered showers at times but still good to be out and about. Managed to grab 13 and 2 today . Thankfully, the rain kept the muggle numbers down. What a beautiful part of Australia. I wish I had more time too look around. Another time.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment The Enchantress. Appreciate your effort.

Great cache. We are on our way to Kal today and it was a nice reason to stop. TFTC The Enchantress
Nice place for a cache, parked up on the rock about 80m away.
Day 5 of my Adelaide to Perth drive after heading to the Red Centre Experience in Alice Springs. I stayed overnight with family in Kalgoorlie and hung around town for a few hours this morning to pick up a few caches that have so far eluded me in the area before heading for Esperance this arvo.

Finally made the time to call in and log the 3rd closest cache to my home. Have been here many times but it was still worth the walk to call in again. TFTC

On a bit of a road trip (close to 2000km by the time we get home) grabbing some LGAs and adding to my smileys tho only finding a few in each major town other wise we will never get home as we only have 3.5 days
Our plan is just to drive and stopover at the nearest town to where we are when it starts getting dark. But we have on our list Katanning, Nyabing, Gnowangerup, Borden, Jerramungup, Ravensthorpe, Esperance, Grass Patch, Salmon Gums, Dundas area, Kambalda, Kalgoorlie, Coolgardie, Southern Cross, Westonia, Merredin, Kellerberin, Tammin, Cunderdin and finish off caching in Meckering
After staying the night in Ravensthorpe we are now on the next leg of our journey
Parked not too far away after giving the 200 series some serious pin striping we took the lovely uphill walk. Would have been nicer if it wasn't 3pm and in full heat but we managed to get there and me to sign the log, then back to more pinstripes (not sure if this is where we also broke park light cover )
TFTC great views

Phew it getting hot already, glad we did not leave it too late in the day to do this one. TFTC
Quite a construction to harvest and store water. When you think of the amount of hard yakka required to build the catchment barrier, lay and cover the pipe and line the dam banks with stone and all without modern machinery, quite a task. TFTC and bringing us here.
Out for work in Norseman then heading to Esperance, decided to stop and look at the dam, so had to check for a cache and I was in luck!! My muggle friend found his first cache with Geodog!
Beware of snakes!!
