Met up with Shazzar66 for coffee in the lovely establishment just a few minutes from here. As she had previously done this cache I was able to find it pretty quickly. Good thing that, as otherwise I quite likely would have been searching for a while. Read the info board on the history of the baths here, and checked out the remains of the second one a bit further along the pathway. Interesting!
Well that was very sneaky, comments helped, log full but was able to squeeze my name/date on. Will come back down to pop an additional sheet in
Out and about today as I was needing a break and some caches to collect. The salt air always seems to clear the head and a gentle reminder I have a challenge to continue with. I was over this way yesterday but ran out of time so a grab for this one and then continue to the bay area as the tide needs to be right for an earth cache I was doing. I pulled up and wandered over to find this one. This did take a little thinking and some time to look for. It was nicely hidden and I was amazed that this has ben around for so long. A very great hiding spot and a worthy favourite point. I signed the log and replaced the cache as found. thanks for the hide.
Came back a few days later, found it right as we messaged Rong for a hint. Still here and in good nick.
Just discovered geochaching, this was our first go. Unfortunately it got dark as we headed out too late, so will be going back in the morning. Definitely reading the logs helped, I think i have a fair idea where it is.Glad to see other people have struggled as well lol.
On another trip north from Sydney, this time for a family funeral. Was in the area to do another cache, and can confirm the hide is still in place. GPS a bit jumpy so could be harder to find for those searching for it.
Mr CNQ is down from Charters Towers and after spending most of the day pruning in elderly parents yard on Bribie he ducked over to Deception Bay for this cache and a few more ad lab stages. Spent quite a while here searching between the walkers and their dogs. Even walked away to do a lab stage and came back for another more successful look. After eliminating the attractive features and the unlikely ones, only a couple of options remained, and there it was! Great old cache thanks Rong. Log is nearly full.
Today was the day for us to look for this cache placed 17 years ago! A nice walk along the path to the site where we started searching. With some intel we eventually had the well hidden container in our sight. The tether was in good shape and we were soon signing the log and replaced as found. This is a good hide and we happily give it a favourite. Thanks Rong for the cache.
Wasted a lot of time searching the wrong obvious places and had to resort to reading some previous entries, but pleased to add this to my QLD tally, on a overcast, sprinkling afternoon. TFTC
Yippie Yippie Lovely easy find, all is well with this cache. Thank you for the oldi Team sissifalke
Found this little gem whilst in the area for a Sunday drive. The activity logs and description helped. Great find!
Today was spent geocaching with Willis007, mostly signing challenge caches plus a few solved puzzles with mainly Willis007 doing the tree climbs and I doing the tree fishing with a borrowed pole. A great day.
As we had found all of the other caches in Deception Bay, I thought I’d better find this last one too. Willis007 had found it 10 years ago and couldn’t remember where it was so no help there! Haha!
Reading all the comments about PAFs and how tricky it was, had me worried but once I took heed of the terrain rating, I saw something shiny hidden away and retrieved the cache easily.
Lovely area and my first time here. Tftc

Well that was a tricky find, we were just about to give up when we had a visit from rong himself. It was where I had looked earlier but missed it.

Wow that’s was a true game of seek the hide. We were dedicated to finding this cache as it was a beautiful place and piece of history. We were there for nearly 45 mins with no cache in hand we sent a message to CO and kept seeking. We found syringe in the rock wall holes so please be careful. I got on my phone to check for a reply, then I heard a man’s voice from afar. He said if you move yours have to the side your right on it i seemed confused for a bit lol and said oh are you the CO he said with a smile yes. It was where we first looked! We actually proded the hole location couple of times. it turns out the Coords are pretty much spot on. You do not need to climb Mount Everest ! Only at high as an ant mound. Thanks for the piece of history. TFTC and Rong your such a kind soul was lovely to meet you. Found on the 08/07/2023 at 5:00pm with DL197 - who had only just come out of surgery yesterday and have his arm a wrapped and in a sling. LOOK BEHIND Zoie and Bryce3515 this would have to be a favourite for us.
Lots of interesting info on plaques nearby. Had a clue so finding it didn't take long. Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC
An Event brings us to Redcliffe, so time to cache in the area and Deception Bay.
We had two visits to this one today, before making a third to find the cache, after receiving help from the CO (thanks). It's good to see an old cache still lovingly attended.
Log signed and cache replaced as found at 2:34 pm on 23 June 2023. TFTC, Rong

Out to day after the event to pick up a few smiles. Oh an oldie. Now I must go for this one. Had a couple of looks for this one and it appears I was so close, but not until a further PAF did I get the picture. Thank you.
Thank you for continuing to maintain this oldie for us to find.

Really tricky hide!
Reading past logs didn’t help us much. Definitely need to get up a few steps and look down.
Really grateful for the help of geocachers passing by who were able to confirm we were in the right place, just needed a different angle. Would have been logging a DNF if not for there help.

I did it! After calling it quits I had one last look and it was the last place I looked!
Rong I found your cache Bancroft's Bath on 2/3/2023, 12:15 pm. This is my find 4781 and find # 3 today. Well this took a long time to find. After confirmation of a find after my DNF, reached out to shazzar66 who gave me a hint. Searched around for quite some time and reread previous logs and eventually found it. I swear I looked there at least 2 times without seeing it. Thanks shazzar66 for a hint. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Started the day on the water after making it safely back on dry land we grabbed the local caches.
Instead of a paf I had a previous finder guide me here

Sneaky find by the eagle eyes and tenacity of Shazzar66, (who had been here before but with no luck). While I was wandering around trying to get my brain into gear, waiting for the coffee to actually work, she made the find. TFTC
#4 for me and 1st with Duppers at Deception Bay. I'd actually been here before but with more info this time around. After looking everywhere my gps was sending me, I decided to stop a minute to let things settle and I got to shout out to Duppers that I'd found it. Music to her ears. It's a tune she'sbeen hearing a lot lately . TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
Rong I didn’t find your cache Bancroft's Bath on 4/10/2022, 10:46 am. Nope, did a quick check around but unable to find.
No luck for us today. Searched for 30 minutes and then searched a little more. Thanks for bringing us here regardless.
Found it! Took me abit but then saw were other people had walked so I just followed the tracks, thanks!
A tricky find complicated by random muggle activity!
We started off at the posted co-ords then swapped to those suggested by Muff1. Eventually after reading a number of comments in previous logs, we deduced the style of hide and then it was an easy find.
By the way, if you see the syringe you're out by a few meters.
Thanks for find #3612

Didn’t find it. Decided to go to Fairy Way instead because we say a syringe in a rock and we thought it was in rock.
Today, the plan was a kayak along Hays Inlet with a small group of adventurous folk. Launching from Clontarf, we initially headed west to the small cluster of geocaches around Freshwater Creek, before proceeding north up the inlet towards Saltwater Creek. Increasing winds towards lunch did cut the adventure short for a few kayakers, and it was a hard slog kayaking back against the south-easterly gales.
Following the kayak, I had the afternoon for solo geocaching, visiting a variety of places along the coastline. This included Scarborough with a few *Witch's Hat* geocaches, then Newport with the *Newport Canal* series, followed by a visit to Deception Bay and the completion of the *D'bay Heritage Trail* Adventure Lab. I then returned towards Brisbane following a few service roads in Narangba and Dakabin picking up a few miscellaneous geocaches as it turned dark.
Continuing my walk from the nearby *D'bay Heritage Trail* Adventure Lab Location, I noticed that there wasn't a direct route down to this path, so I opted my continuation by foot, rather than repositioning my vehicle.
I soon arrived at GZ, passing by Bancroft's Bath and the interesting plaque describing as such. There was some landslides towards the end of the boardwalk evident, and I wondered if they may have impacted the geocache. I subsequently had a good and detailed search of the nearby area, finding a used syringe in the rock wall (so be careful). After not having any luck after 15 minutes of searching, and noting previous DNFs, I read past through logs, with several logs seeming to indicate quick finds (little did I realise that those were either long finds that were quick logs, or Geocachers visited with a former finder). A PAF was made, and they provided instruction that the cache should have been within the landslide area. Continuing my search and not yielding anything after 30 minutes of searching, I ended up sending a message to the CO noting the likelihood that it was probably missing. As I visited a nearby cache, I noted a reply from the CO that they were going to check on the cache, so I rushed back in the hopes of waiting for them. After 15 minutes of waiting, it was then confirmed that they had completed a speedy cache check and exit, and hence they had already visited.
I sighed, and after obtaining confirmation that the cache was still there, I began to search once again. Ignoring previous find advice, I began to check other areas, and upon performing a diligent search, I soon had the cache in hand, phew! As I extracted the logbook, the cache's connection deteriorated in my hand from rust, so it now needs another CO check. Otherwise, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Rong for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was also nice to find this oldie 12/2006 hidden cache, which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.

Enjoyed reading the plaques relating to this cache and the story is very interesting. As I was looking for the cache, a lady walking past told me to be very careful as two eastern browns had been seen up on the bank earlier in the day. Lucky I had a quick find so was out of there in a flash. Beaut hide, well done CO.

23/5/21 Find #4803
A day of wandering around North Harbour with Fangsoki, Pprime and Crew153 today. We finished all the caches there and headed nearby to this cache for a spot of lunch. With that done, there were just a couple of caches the latter parties still wanted to get, and with a quick scan of the map, I noticed this one was sitting there for me. A very short drive up the road, and we were parking the car. Pprime decided to accompany me, and we crossed the road, and then I realised I had to go down there for the cache. Oops!
So down the side we scrambled and arrived at GZ, where bounce sent us here there and that way. The only thing I managed to find was a pile of dog poo with my shoe
Doing my best to scrape that off, we continued our search, and soon I noticed a little something that gave away my search was over.
With a quick pull I had the container extracted and logbook signed.
Thanks for the cache Rong.

We had been in this area some months ago, and on a detour today, we came back to spend time and have a good look for this cache.
Having logged a DNF on our last visit, it was time to put a blue face into a yellow one.
Despite our previous search, it still took time, and we were fortunate this time, to have a hint from a previous finder.
Once found, it was no easy feat to access the log, and we took our time with fumbling fingers.
Finally... we can say... our name is in the log sheet!
Thanks Rong,
Domsky

Oh wow this was a tricky one! We wandered around for a little, with Stephyy having the best geosense here.
Stephyy found the well hidden spot (which I don’t think I would have ever seen) but getting it out was another thing altogether! I had my backpack of tooly things to assist in the retrieval and we took it in turns trying to get to it. Nope - what else can we try... This? Yeah let’s try that... Nope lol. In the end it was teamwork using a stick and some long fingernails that got us there.
A great hide. Thanks for the cache, Rong

Out with swearah today.
Looked where i though it would be but came up with nothing trying my hardest inbetween muggles of course lucky it wasn't super super busy. After doing some more looking around i was a little worried because of the previous DNF. One log kind of gave me an idea of location ideas after changing my mind on what i was looking for i found it. It wouldn't have take much for me to miss and i'm suprized i didn't but finding it turned out to be only one hard part. Getting this out of its home was another stuggle we tried many things from swearahs bag of goodies but none of that worked. good old stick, fingers and team work for us.
Such a great hide and worthy of a fav point from me. Thanks

Like many others, I am a repeat DNF on this cache. I read all the logs last night and nothing comes to mind. I don’t hunt caches for smileys but to attend locations and get outdoors so time to set this one aside. One day, when I’m not looking closely, the cache will magically appear for me. It’s close to my home so I’m allowed to exercise here during this lockdown
My local beachfront pathway. High muggle area so my search was discrete. I’ll come back at a quieter time. Cache wasn’t where I expected but my search was not detailed so maybe do not sweat my DNF. I think DBay has the best sunrises ever! Today was high tide. Out doing the AL.
Out with friends to practice their seeking and retrieval skills. All is well here and retuned to it hidey.
While scoring another newly minted cache just up the beach we decided to collect this tricky one. This was my 2nd attempt while TGG had found a long time back “and couldn’t recall” caches location so starting from scratch searched again, finally found, hard find! ( I can’t say that TGG found it & still didn’t recall the first instance
Quick easy find after a PAF!

Geokids spent some time here while I checked out the nearby Earthcache. I went home happy while they left disappointed. I joined them briefly but there were too many passing muggles and too many potential hiding spots for my liking. Thanks for highlighting the bath though, that was interesting.
Another day, another look....in better light this time.
I remarked to my partner yesterday, that a particular spot looked like a good place for a cache, and that's where I would have put one. Today, I had another look in that spot, and I saw a glimmer of light, a bit of reflection. On closer examination, I saw a part of the cache container........and then the fun of retrieving it!!!

You're getting a FP for this one, for sure!
I like to hunt oldies, and this one has been on my list for a while. It has recently made its way into the list of Queensland's oldest 1000 geocaches, and so close to home!
Arriving at GZ my GPS was bouncing all over the place. I made some assumptions that turned out to make an ass out of you and me :p.
After a while, another geocacher appeared, and we searched together, still making those erroneous assumptions :p.
PAF. Wait, wait, wait. Wait some more. Oh, yes, thank you thank you!
A bit of a closer look, and bingo! Amazing what happens when you don't make assumptions :p.
Cache and log are in great condition. Well done on a fab hide.

Rainy day at the bay. Poked around the rocks with a stick for a while, but no luck...

Tricky little cache. Worth a favourite. The bath was interesting too. Imagine the sandflies Ms Bancroft had to endure.
I finished work nearby and decided to give this one another go. I contacted the CO to see if they could throw a hint my way, but I didn’t get a response yet.
Arrived at GZ to start my search and oddly enough it was in the first spot I checked! Why the hell didn’t I do that last time!!!
Even though I found it, it was a matter of finding the right tool to get it out. After a few minutes I finally had it in my hand.
