Logs
The logs for this cache seem a natural progression. Log wet, log soaked, log mush, a DNF and now a second DNF.
Heading back to base with work after having been out with a work buddy. Would be rude not to divert slightly. Log book mush. Needs replacing. Cheers for the cache.
Drove over from Christchurch yesterday, staying in Greymouth for a couple of nights. Today I got up to Ikamatua along the state highway, then the return trip via the back roads on the other side of the river, caching all the way. TFTC (2125)
Lots of goodies in this cache! Unfortunately log paper is soaked to the bone so couldn't sign tftc
C.O. should vist this when next passing, so we can then sign log when next passing.
Found it ok but the container was almost full of water, so I was unable to sign the logbook.
First finder for 7 months. Log was had-it so left a new logsheet in a new plastic bag. All good now. SL TFTC
We searched a few hint objects before we found the right one. The logbook was too wet to sign. TFTC
Found on the 4th post we looked at, maybe it was moved or you just have REALLY long legs...hehe TFTC
Needs urgent maintenance!!!
The last before we had to get to Greymouth and find a motel. The computer also had a hissy fit but Mrs Sobad could remember enough and the GPS took us quickly to GZ. But the log bok was absolutely sodden - in fact it was by far the wettest thing in the cache. Our log signing was more of an indentation. We took it out of the plastic bag as it was making the book worse but had nothing with us to replace it. TNLN TFTC

Easy cache on the way, but needs maintanence. There was some water in the cache, but we had nothing to dry it thoroughly. The notebook is wet.
Nice place for a cache. Dad new where to go. We found quickly but went to the wrong post first and got a mud covered foot. TFTC

A quick find on a very damp day. The cache container had some water in it which I emptied out. The logbook bag was leaking too so I replaced it. Logbook damp but still usable. TFTC

I know where we are, but which cache are we at? I've forgotten the instructions. 2 paces into the bog, a quick retreat to higher ground and there it was. TNLN
Where R we? Well, a local thought the same thing. Came screeching to a halt and reversed, great clouds of dust filled the air. Looked at me and growled "you lost?", the sort of "what the #### are you doing here" kind of look and tone of voice. I held up my GPS and said "no, in fact, the complete opposite, I know exactly where I am!". That took the man aback somewhat. The next question was obvious "what are you doing here?". "Geocaching, have you heard of it?". A blank look. "Heard about that bomb scare in Auckland a while ago?" A snort. "Kinda...". "Well...", I said, that's what I'm doing here. His eye lids shot up in his head. "What? There's a bomb HERE?". I quickly jumped in to correct what was a rapidly deteriorating situation, and explained about treasures and such, and that one was close by according to my GPS. And with that, he left, saying as a farewell "we've been having trouble 'round here". I assured him I was no trouble, and as he disappeared over the horizon and left a cloud of dust, I walked to the cache and did the admin. Thanks for the cache - and my life!
1994. Indeed? And the rain poured down as well!
Now that was an interesting deserted Caltex petrol station - Andersonia - not far from the cache. Loved the artifacts set out around the yard. Now, I wonder what major industry that was servicing in days gone by?
Thanks
Iris & Rodney

I have found there are 2 types of fence post; one is dry behind it, the other is quite swampy! Left 'Singapore 20 cent'
What was the odds - of all the possibilities, this was the ONLY one with blackberry.
Where R we now? No idea, except for a small arrow on the GPSr.

PB got to this one first - a wee bit damp, so we dried out the interior and the inhabitants and swapped two of the bovines for a large dinosaur. Also took out the silica gels that were completely soaked. May need some new ones in soon??? Log book is still ok at present.
thank you. I have found a new place to run to and turn around. Exactly 8km to cache from work so a nice hilly 16km run. TFTC
Never been down this road before easy find.

Where are we? Well with a GPS not lost but perhaps not sure of where you are!! Found without any infomation than the coord as the cache owner told us the coord at an event cache and we programmed it in there and then. Finally got back today to find. TNLN.

Gee, there's a farm in here (plastic animals in cache). A FTF on my last cache for the day. Time to call it quits. I've been on the road caching since 8am and it's now 7pm! TNLN. Cheers.
