Cache find #777.... and an unusual spot.
Lots of rocks and prickly plants. So pleased to discover the cache not among them. Thanks for bringing us here. What a tall hedge! I wonder what the history of this place is all about?

18-Apr-07
Nice quick find, nice views too.

09-Apr-07
Quick find and suprised how little camouflage it has, but it seems to work.
Many thanks.

15-Mar-07
Nice place to stop. The seats have just been coated, but it was nice sitting on the grass to fill out the log.
T4TC hoganz - M@

10-Mar-07
I was so looking forward to sitting down whilst filling in the log but both seats have just been restained. Cache was partly exposed - maybe it should be placed a bit further back? TNLN T4TC.

10-Mar-07
That took a while - BaldEd's disguise was pretty effective.
Although it seemed very flimsy - and could easily blow away.
I'd also suggest moving the cache further back - perhaps by the fence. TNLN, Thanks.

27-Feb-07
Well hidden but still easy to find. Don't want the muggles to find it too!

Thanks!

22-Feb-07
That's my kind of garden Smile Zeroed out fairly quickly and the cache was actually more exposed than I thought it would have been. Nice wee garden. Cheers Gav [1107]

10-Feb-07
A different park alright, lots of succulents here. Luckily, read the previous logs and took about 1 min to find (by fluke I must admit). It was well covered, so made it slightly less so as it dosen't need any extra challenges! TNLN Thanks.

Downloaded the cache data and description in December. I'm still picking the spikes from the succulents out of my arms. Twisted Got my Nokia Communicator fired up and got on to internet for the latest logs. Started to read that the coords and hint were out. Looked under cabbage trees, long grass, bushes n a 20m radius of the bench. Put in Grandalfs modified coords. Nothing. Conclusions: 1)I'm blind (most probable). 2)The cache has gone. 3)The coords and hint need correcting. Apart from not finding the cache the park was different to most in Chch.

21-Jan-07
My GPS seemed to take me to the right place so I would have avoided the spikes even if I hadn't read the logs. Quick find as very exposed. Left it with a bit more cover. Took a butterfly and left a fireman. Then strolled around looking at the succulents.

17-Jan-07
Spent about 20 minutes trying to work out how to search under the succulent plants without damaging them before lookung up the PDA, reading through past logs and working out what I needed to do. Another 5 mins and the cache was finally in my hands. Great wee park.

TNLNSL.

OK, this time it was very easy. I stayed well clear of the prickles. Nice to be there when northeasterly cloud was swirling across the high spur, leaving water droplets on all the grass and the succulents - more attractive to plants than muggles. No swaps, thanks and cheers from Grandalf(749)

This one is a good lesson why one should read all the logs - as others have pointed out!! I didn't - and and hunted in the undergrowth behind the object at GZ. Hated the prickles. I now know where to look next time I'm back there. But can the owner please shift the coords slightly to make them point to the other object (ie. add 0.004 to South coord), as the prickly succulent plants are getting damaged by scrabbling cachers!!

What a lovely wee place,,,I had to look hard for this one my GPS was telling me to go to the other seat,,but got there in the end,,cheers Bo

1293. We should have read all the logs before we went as that might have saved some nasty scratches from those prickly plants. The lawn mowing man arrived and we knew we'd need to stop before he got to the cache area so we gave it one last shot in a completely different spot and there was the cache. So with smiles all around we were on our way.
We have taken the CITO geocoin with us on our travels.
Thanks
Iris & Rodney

Interesting plants in this garden, spent a bit of time looking around the wrong area, but soon found it.

28-Dec-06
Found this late afternoon. The GPS battery had died just as I arrived so needed to resort to the clue. My old pizza delivery skills came into effect getting to the location as I made my way across the hill from the ferrymead side. Still a lovely area. Interesting reserve too. TNLN Cheers!

26-Dec-06
Great little park on our boxing day cache hunt to try and work off xmas days excesses.
It was a bit of a trick to find, our GPS had us off in the gardens looking under rather large prickly plants, until someone in the group decided to try the other bench and although it was off the coords by about 10m hey presto there was the cache.
Thanks for the cache.

23-Dec-06
Was here with Kiwijam. Like a lot of other cachers (it seems) we spent awhile looking in the wrong place. Got some spiky scratches for our troubles. But cache was found in the end, as they often are..
Thanks a lot, TNLN.

23-Dec-06
Nice gardens. Arrived as dusk was falling. Drove my bus right up to the cache site! (kidding Wink). Spent a while looking behind the wrong feature, but oh well, that's geocaching.
No TBs in residence currently.

23-Dec-06
Turns out I had to come back with Mrs KiwiHarv and our boys. Took TB, purple tape, rattle; left knit buttons, red clip and lug nut. Just as good the second time.

22-Dec-06
Didnt need the GPS for this one! A quick find at night. TNLN. Thanks.

18-Dec-06
9.30am. Popped up the hill this morning and enjoyed a nice easy find in another unvisited wee park. Cheers. + 2 TBs

18-Dec-06
Adding a TB.

18-Dec-06
Popped up after work for a quick find. The gardens are quite nice. Picked up a TB.

Hooray, my first FTF. We've been geocaching for about six months and this is our 38th find. I found this one about 10:45 Sunday night. We've visited this place before and think it should be called the Secret Garden -- secret because it is so little known, garden because it contains a delightful array of plants. To be properly appreciated, it should be visited in daylight. Well done, Hoganz. This is a well-placed cache. My, those Mt Pleasant cachers are a clever lot.
Took nothing.
Left desiccant sachets from BaldEd's supply.
