Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Thanks Geocaching Australia.
Standing on the survey marker I looked up at the amazing sight of the enormous fire tower .... towering above me
But wait !! You can climb it to see the views even better
Great spot !!
Grabbed while enjoying the view and hunting the nearby GC cache
Can't believe it has been 46 weeks between logs. A virtual drive by cant get any easier than that. Enjoyed the climb up the tower but hazy today.
We had visited this location a year or two ago to find a nearby cache and done the obligatory climb but it was a very pleasant excuse to return to log the trig.
Took the required snap, enjoyed the views once again and we were on our way.
Our thanks to GCA and especially c@w for the cache and bringing us back to this location.
Cheers

We were just down the Mt on another geo mission this afternoon so took the opportunity to log this one as well.
Had to use our phone for the confirmation photo!
It was soooo cold up here this morning! We made it all the way up the tower, hands nearly froze to the rails but we made it all the way up the tower! It was a clear morning so plenty to see and take photos of. Thanks for another trigpoint!

The disk was easy to spot and the history boards very interesting.
Passing through the area and thought we'd included this location on our visit agenda. Couldn'd find the actual Trig Station but did find the disk, so we guess the actual Tower is high and prominent enough to be seen from a significant distance. It was amazing to see the transformation of the near by Cairn Curran Reservoir.
We have been to the top here before to find the nearby cache, it was great to return to now grab the Trig too. Thats one very big tower and Mrs Keeper only managed to get a bit of it in the pic.
