Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Logs
Trigpoint Caches, Earthcaching, Glasshouse Mountain 4WDing, two walks.. a great day so far! And the lighting is flawless today. This is a beautiful part of the world. Unfortunately my newer iPhone died a few weeks ago so I can’t take advantage of it. I’ve had sooo many great photo opportunities today. I’m currently using an old banged up iPhone 6. In fairness it’s holding up well. I think I can visit one more Trig before the party..
Note: Photo didn't load with log through app. Photo lost.
Caching in the area with whitewebbs this was one of the trigs we found.

Out and about caching with Tassie Trekkers around Nambour and surrounds and headed through Mapleton to find this trig. TFTT
We admired the view and then took a selfie with the tower which Nyssaflutterby has uploaded with her log.
Awesome place to bring people to!
Thanks for the cache Geocaching Australia:D
As mentioned in previous logs, it's at the fence but no big maker like some high points have. I guess the tower serves as both. TFTT
I always thought it was the bald hill with the TV tower on it
But it turns out that, that hill is really Mount Mellum and the real Bald Knob is on the other side of the road
Not a bad view from BK
But could I find a trig point or survey mark up here ?
Nup !!
I got the next best thing though.
A piccy of the GPS with the exact listed coords on it in front of some towering infrastructure
Oh !! And let's not forget the view in the other direction
I dug the grass and dirt off so that the next surveyor (or cacher) to come along will not have much work to do! Some kind soul (probably a surveyor) has painted PSM in large letters on the concrete below the fence and there is a geotrail through the grass heading north
There is something comforting about rediscovering a PSM - that there is order and stability amongst the apparent chaos of the world
