Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

The kids enjoyed themselves as well.
The Boxed 'item' below had a huge sandy hole, and despite digging around there I couldn't find any metal rod or star picket.
Took some photos tho. Thanks GCA, one more on my way to x 500 trigs.
Wow. This is an easy TrigPoint to fnd. Not that they're generally hard, but this one was very easy. I've actually been here before, but that was way before TP's were listed at GCA, so today after lunch was a nice opportunity to head over to the TrigPoint and grab the necessary photo. GabGab and I will share the photo today. The views across the lands were quite clear today with the Camels Hump at Mt Macedon clear pas the views of the city. A very pleasant day to be here.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks to Geocaching Australia for listing TrigPoints and the fun that comes with finding something that is there, but doesn't have a box to locate.

Absolutely lovely view from the tower - just a pity the weather wasn't a bit clearer towards the mountains.
This also marks my first ever trig point cache!
Thanks you for this cache and the fantastic view it offers.
Nice view from the top.
Can see the burning of in the distance.

Thanks Geocaching Australia.
I was here just over ten years ago when I initially found the nearby "Tank You" geocache on 13/9/2002.
Today I had a look under the wooden lid and then climbed the tower to get the money shot.
Thanks.
I've been to this spot before, but that was before the GCA Benchmak category was introduced. I was on a caching expedition to the Botanic Gardens today and took the opportunity to re-visit and get a picture or two.
With the gardens finally open I started my way on a loop walk all the way around. What a fantastic park, I had never been here before and had no idea what I was missing. I suppose it helped we had a spectacular sunny morning.
Nice easy walk to the top of the hill, although once I climbed the tower, could not stay up there for long due to the fierce wind.
It was a warm day and we both worked up a sweat walking around the park and ended up with something like 7 FTF's on the newly published series of caches.
The view was great here too!
Gread view from here
Great view from the platform.
Found with Landsergruppe, Scubacraze666 & Kazza1996.
A nice easy find whilst @ the event & on my mission to find @ least 6 Cache Types in a day But im sure i made it 7 in a day.

Great views from the viewing platform here.
The survey marker is under the platform.
Covered by a wooden lid, it's about half a metre below ground level.
