Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

My hike started from "Razorback Track", descended and then progressed along the river, visited the "Ah Kow mine" and then slogged up the steep "Ah Kow track"...
Towards the end of the hike, I could see the tower and after a gruelling uphill walk I got to this trig.
Great views...alternatively I could have simply driven up to this trig at the start of the day...but I'm a sucker for punishment...
This is a family friendly hike.
Off to celebrate 15 years of Geocaching Events in Victoria, so couldn't go past a Trig Point without coming up the hill.

What fantastic views to the south and south-east despite the overcast conditions. I can't believe it's been 90 weeks since the last time this one was logged but there you have it.
Thanks Geocaching Australia.
Wonderful views although a little hazy today.
Love these trig point caches

The views up here have been different each time and always beautiful even if a little windy. It is truly a magical place.
I waymark abit and there was one at the top of Lohs Lne.
As I drove up over the crest to the end a good sized brown snake was blocking my path.
He slithered off to the side but I was too slow to take a photo
I turned around drove thru the gate to the top and took a photo.

Cheers Gordo
The view was spectacular.
The Riddeller.
I have not worked out how to put an image on the site yet but will try.
Another spectacular place for a lookout over the western suburbs. A major tower interrupts some of the view but the remainder of the views to the South especially are breathtaking. With the recent rains a lot of the area is green and it is a sight to behold.
I encourage anyone with an eye for a view to come up to this location and log this trig (along with the two other GCA caches nearby and one GC cache).
Thanks to GCA for providing an opportunity to revisit this spectacular location.
Great views from here and with 2 close by caches it made for a well worth while trip.
