Last Inspected on: July 11, 2000.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

Having solved most of the Princes Highway Puzzles, they were our main target today. All were found quickly & easily unless otherwise mentioned.
Made a few detours for trigs too. Certainly a long walk to pick up these four trigs....all so different.
Having solved 21 out of 22 existing puzzles in the Princes Highway Puzzle Series we headed out for a run today to grab as many as we could for a last day grab of bonus dZ points. Next find of the day. A bonus Trig along the way.
TFTC !!
Then went on to find the OLD Madden trig.
A short walk on from Madden to a communications tower compound with Madden New partially hidden in the surrounding enclosing bushland ... despite a bright yellow mast it still required a penetrating peer to sight - and little space for a the photo. Worth the walk.
An easy find in the end even if well hidden by the new growth. Bright yellow mast and white vanes makes it rather unusual.
This one was in excellent condition with everything in place including a plaque. Interestingly the top plate had "Surveyor General" instead of the usual wording which I've forgotten for the moment.
Track in is a 4WD basher track, we encountered one vehicle before we headed around to the old Madden trig. There's a sealed road just past this trig which must have been for the mine once.
There is some lovely bushland walking closer to the escarpment that is worth doing but this Trigpoint is an easy walk from the nearby main road.
This trig seems somewhat unique in that it doesn't have much of a view! Most tend to be at an obvious high point where this one is dwarfed by the massive Telecommunication towers nearby.
