Description

Ulladulla Trig Station TS1083 according to SIX Maps

Council Water Supply Tower on Deering St.

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the centre point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself.  You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.

SIX Maps lists this trig as TS1083

Having spent hours every day since mid March sitting at my computer logging Locationless caches, today I dcided to spend hours sitting in my car searching out trigs and maybe a virtual. I left Captains Flat earlyish and travelled via Braidwood, Nerrigah and down to the coast near Georges Basin. From there I headed south grabbing trigs along the way to Bateman's Bay and back up the Clyde Mountain to Home. Thanks for all the trigs Geocaching Australia. I will add notes that are pertinent to each trig if they stand out in my mind. I will have to add photos later to all logs as the photos are on my phone.

Listed on the SIX Maps and close to the cors. Unsure of whether there is a trig vane in this pic, but I published because the nearby Narrawallee in Mollymook is pretty much the same and still a going concern as far as being a trig for cachers to find.

I Waymarked this water tower in 2012 so compared the co-ordinates & address to be sure. Thanks to the faeries for fixing the site. My description at the time was "A simple two section water tower on the corner of Camden & Deering Sts. It sits on the highest point in the town so being tall is not a requirement." I just noted that one of the visits was for a different water tower, probably not even in Ulladulla, but hey. Thanks for the notification.
