Description
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
To get to the top of Mount Tempest, park at the end of Mount Tempest Track, off of Middle Road, and follow the walking track about 1km up the hill to the awesome lookout on top. The tripod at this site has been removed, however the metal disk is clear and easily found on top of the small concrete pillar. There are great 360° views from this location.

Day 2 on Moreton Island. Wayn0 and I missed our window to get out of camp early this morning before the tide came up, as it was a King Tide following a Super Moon. Highest wayn0 has ever seen it here. After a swim and snack I pulled out a watercolour paint kit I had just bought recently and decided to give it a go. I took poetic licence and made the Glasshouse Mountains a little larger than they really were across the water, but that was our view each day. Beautiful.
Today's big walk for me was this one. I eventually got to the top. Took my sore back, hip and knee a while to get up there, but I did it! Well worth it for the amazing views. Gorgeous! Image attached of my shadow pointing at the trig point's shadow. Shame there isn't still an awesome beacon up here to go with it. Thanks wayn0 for getting me here.

My last Trig visit was yesterday down in Launceston Tasmania. A hire car, two flights, geo-van, late night, early morning, geo-van, ferry, geo-van, a 20 minute walk.. 1600km away and I’m standing on the summit of Mount Tempest, the highest point of Moreton Island in Queensland! This summit has been on my to-do list for many years. Since my GCA enlightenment and learning of an awesome Trig up here, the priority of this location was elevated. Here I am on a clear day with spectacular views! I love Moreton Island and it’s great to stand on its highest point WITH A TRIG Thanks for the cache

I was lucky enough to join Fangsoki, 1MinnieMoo, Crew 153, Pprime, Radnoski, and Team Herbz for a weekend of fun on Moreton Island. This was my third attempt to take in the views and search for a nearby GC cache, the two previous attempts having been foiled by planned backburning of the area We noted the nearby trig point and decided it needed to be added to the GCA site

It was a weekend of fun and frivolity with a fantastic bunch of Cachers - Fangsoki, pPrime, Crew153, Herbz, Just A Trifle and Radnoski. We headed up here to replace (and claim) the burnt out Storm and Tempest cache, then continued up to this spot to admire the views, of which there certainly were some beauties all around us.
Thanks for adding this Trig Point pPrime.

I was on the island with Pprime, Fangsoki and a number of other cachers and we had made the climb up to the top of the highest stable sand dune in the world to replace Fangsoki's burnt out cache and stopped off for the view. We inspected the ruins of the original trig point and Pprime took coordinates of the location to publish this listing.
It was a lovely day after a couple of damp days and the view from here to both ends of the island, the glasshouse mountains and the modern skyline of the City were remarkable.
Thanks Pprime for listing this spot.
