A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.

If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Sophoutloud and I are on a bit of a road trip on our way to Lennox Head for a conference, it gave us an excuse to have a mini holiday and take a few days to get there. So for us that always means finding caches and trigs on our travels. This trip so far has been great as we have had the chance to visit a bunch of beautiful Northern New South Wales Beach towns. Being the off season they have been pretty quiet and even though it is June, much warmer than at home in the Hawkesbury. We ducked into Queensland today to get a few things for the 4wd, I spied this hill and its trigs a few weeks ago as i headed south and made a note to come back. it was a pretty busy day up here (saturday during school holidays) so we didnt hang around too much. we had a quick look around and a drive and headed on our way. pretty great views of the city from up here, it would be quite amazing to catch it at sunrise

We did the Mt Cootha drive today, grabbing a handful of trigs as we went. We used to love the summit drive as kids, and did the walks up from the picnic areas several times.

This is our second last cache on the mountain and not hard to miss TFTC

On Route to the One Tree Hill Trig. I stopped at each of the tower Trigs on the way. Thanks for the cache.

Here’s some random info about 0..

Can you divide by 0? Division is to split something into equal parts. So, let’s try to divide 8 containers among 0 people.. it doesn’t work, does it. In maths-talk, dividing by zero is ‘undefined’.
