Description

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A place with a great view in good weather.  The trig is accessable by car in the summer months.  In winter a walk in from the gate will be required of about 2.25km each way on a gravel road.  The area is subject to snow in the winter months and in summer there may be a fire spoter on duty in the nearby tower.  The road should be suitable for most 2wd vehicles provided there is no snow.  Keep the kids under control as there are places to fall off and snakes have been seen in the area.

Wile your at it you may like to try the easy multi starting right here.

Using the web-based "Survey Marks Enquiry Service (SMES)", the formal and alternative names for this trig-station have being acquired.

Alternate names:   MMB 11727
                                MCDONALD MAJOR
Mark name:           TOORONGO PM 2

This trig fitted the requirements for our research task this week. Enjoyed the journey to this one but cloud cover obscured our view today.

Wow...amazing views

- Drove up "Tanjil Link Rd" after turning off the C426
- Turned into "Mt Toorongo Rd"
- Be wary of driving up the trig in wet/snow weather as it'll be slippery

A simple find wile checking on my own cache that starts right here. No one on site today but a snake was seen going under the nearby 'path' up to GZ.
