Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

Access: The quickest way to the trig remains is to park at the northern end of the Telegraph Walking Track, S27° 05.098' E153° 241.363'. Walk just over 2km south until you're around 250m to Hutchison Peak. The track to the summit is a minor bush bash. Allow 2 hours return.
Logs
I didn’t expect to find anything with this one as it’s listed as a ‘minor’ control station and there are no survey sketch or notes available. The survey report gives little information. Sometimes back in the day there was only a wooden peg with these minor installations. But, I’m determined to eventually visit all the trig sites on this island. I parked at the northern end of the Telegraph Walking Track and wondered south until I was close to Hutchison Peak. Then it was a bush bash to the summit. It was only about 250m away and the closer to the top I got, the less dense the vegetation. Over the last few days I had been to multiple trig sites but didn’t find anything. Today’s find was a curious one. At the trig site there’s a large row of old red bricks in a straight line. Next to this is a single ring of bricks. I’m wondering what the full installation was? Photos taken and it was then time to return to the geo-van and then back to camp for a swim and dinner. Thanks for the cache
