Current status: Large survey post protected by a shed and now listed on the Queensland Heritage Register.
The One Ton Post is the final peg used to complete the QLD / NSW border back in 1881. It was later used by both states as a trigonometric station.

I really liked this post. The old carved in letters and arrow and name were really awesome to see and be able to touch even! I was like, I'm in NSW, I'm in QL, I'm in NSW, I'm in QL... and yes thats QL for Queensland as, according to Cameron, that's how you abbreviate the name. It makes much more sense to me also. But from my experience on this trip, QLDers are weird, so that makes sense they add a D also. Can I just add that NSW is definitely the better side of this Big Survey Peg because it hasn't just got the state abbreviation on it but has Cameron's name and a broad arrow also.
