Description

Bherwerre TS898

Official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is: Bherwerre.

Serial number is: TS898.

Last Inspected on: March 13, 1984.

Elevation is: 169 metres.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.

If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Easy find after walking a short distance along Trig Hill track. I took note of some earlier logs about the possibility of security guards but didn't see any while on site. However on driving out from the Steamers beach car park later in the day there was a security at the road entrance which goes up to the installation.

This has been on my radar for quite some time. Last time I was here, I did not know about the trig trail leading to it. It was an easy walk to the trig.

In the national park with Smittengranny and we thought long and hard about this one, however my caching companion was keen, so off we set. Turned out to be a lot easier than we thought and we arrived at GZ in under 25 minutes....not bad for the second last walk of the day.

Out on the hunt for more points in the current game. Travelling with Sol de Lune today on what turned out to be a very long day. Thanks for organising , driving and your company. Especially your patience while I traipsed along behind especially on those long uphill climbs at times. The last one standing in the rain waiting five minutes for me to arrive. Only just made it to this one. Why oh why did we leave the 2 big hill climbs to the end? No worries gets extra points for my achievement. ClappingDancingClappingDancing

GCA 1130 - 13138.

I've been meaning to come out this way during a work trip to grab this Trig, and with another cache nearby now its a two for one deal. Parked nearby and dodged a black snake as I got to the Hill and trig.

At the start of a Jervis Bay trig seek with rogerw3

A drive along damp roads into the Booderee reserve with squally showers dribbling ... a park at the gate, and a hurried scurry for this trig. Well worth the walk as it is in pristine condition, with mast, vanes and name plate all intact, set upon a plinth on a slight rise.

With the squalls seemingly passed, it was for an enjoyable walk back, especially taking in the multitude of staghorn and other flora along the way ...

On a Trig hunt with Whitemushroom, this one turned out to be a simple find just a short walk from the parking area at the end of the road.
We only got wet a little bit but the nice clean Trig made up for the inconvenience.

159. Well I think this one equals Royston Head Trig for me as the best I have done. Yes there are more spectacular than this etc, but the peaceful walk with the woman you love through this area was fantastic (and also obviously made me a bit of a girl on the way)

TFTT and the offcut.

Photo to come

You have to pay $10 to enter this NP. Drove towards the Trig only to find that it appeared to be in a restricted area controlled by the Navy. Took a different direction & found an old 4WD track (blocked by a locked gate nearby). Walked some distance coming out behind the secure facility. Took the photos & stealthily crept away. The radar on top of the tower has to be seen to be believed.
