Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Navigating through all of the potholes to the top, I noticed this structure and immediately knew I'd be taking a picture with it.
Sure enough, another trig point is added to the tally!
Thanks for listing it, Geocaching Australia!
Day #2 of 4 (16/9)
Today’s main focus is finding the Geo-tour caches and any pre-2010 cache I came across along my travels. I also found a few AL’s and a couple of others nearby to make up the numbers. I ended up with finding 20 out of 25 of the Geo-tour caches. I ended up with 50 finds for the whole day. My D/T average took a hit today but that’s okay because I’m here for the tour and to fill my Project GC grids. It was a great day out and I really enjoyed finding all the caches I found. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found today and for allowing them to bring the Geocaching community enjoyment. TFTC’s
It's always great to find a Trig-point especially when you weren't expecting it. I was up here for the GC caches and so I'll happily take this find too.
As we visited a nearby cache we had to walk past this old trig hiding in the trees.
Thanks
Albida
Ah well. All sorted today.
Lots of long grass at TP1923.
Great views and we also logged the nearby GC cache.
Visited with +Wife and our GeoMutts, EveTheStaffy and MaxTheCollie.
It’s wonderful what the added bonuses of geocaching bring you to.
A cracking location. always enjoy a Trig.
Thanks Geocaching Australia

Trawling the map and realised that I'd visited this Trig Point when I was chasing old caches on the way back from the aftermath of the untimely demise of the Geo Tradie's Van. Ah, there's the photo: September 2013? My, how time flies.

Could not photograph brass plate as square box was full of water.
Did not expect to see a castle out here, LOL.
An interesting criss cross of roads on the way up the hill and we found a park beside a deserted vehicle.
After meeting KTCvic at the nearby GC cache we returned to the cars and Fangsoki took the attached photo of me at the trig point.
Great day to be out Geocaching.
A drive by trig - doesn't get any easier than that. Found with whitewebbs while grabbing the nearby GC cache. Enjoyed the views.
Thanks Geocaching Australia.

A great location with panoramic views when you manage a vantage point beyond the trees and of course the access passes a pioneering and iconic tourist development.
Unfortunately I have less than enjoyable memories of our visit about thirty years ago as it was too soon after the death of my father and some of the grim displays played with my mind.
Our thanks to Geocaching Australia and especially caughtatwork for pulling the series together for the cache and bringing us to this location.
Love this trig point series

As noted previously, no view for this location.
Cheers gordo
Nice drive up to the top and with a number of nearby caches it made for a worthwhile stop.
A nice spot.
Great for me as I get to log 3 finds in this area! Yipee!
This is the first trig point I've seen!
Hopefully I can work out how to attach a picture to this log.
W00t! *FTF* on this TrigPoint.
A very nice drive up the mountain and at the top we parked and spotted the TP only a few meters away from the carpark.
An easy drive by if there ever was one.
Alas, no view as the trees are quick thick and tall up here, but it's a nice location to visit, especially in spring when the low ground flowers are out and about.
