===

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.

If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Well I’m logging this 3233 days after my visit haha. I was up here with two mates looking for the GC cache. Unfortunately there is no Trig structure up here, just a marker which I took a photo of WITH my then GPS. Do I have the images in my Dropbox account.. yes I do! I remember this being a fantastic hike with great company and stunning views.
Thanks for the cache Smile

Up here today with Fangsoki, Herbz, Gaz'n'Kab, La Kedi, Gunnie69, Pprime, Agap2, Green Team 2, Just a Trifle, Capt T and Ruzzelz decided this one need some attention. This was on my to do list ever since the plan was developed to climb this mountain. Well it took some finding, but we finally found it!!

*FTF* jointly with the others.

Thanks GA.

Fangsoki, Herbz, Gaz'n'Kab, La Kedi, Gunnie69, Pprime, 'Father Colin', Agap2, Green Team 2, Just a Trifle (1 off) and Capt Terror (blade in hand) set sail for the stroll up this tiny little hill climb. After a small bush bash we were soon on the well marked trail to the top. With regular long stops enroute waiting for the tail to arrive we arrive fresh and full of energy at the top.

We were digging around seeking out the marker only to find Fangoki was standing on it.

A pleasant morning to be climbing a hill and a bonus *FTF* was the icing on the cake. In the company of Just A Trifle, Fangsoki, Agap2 and many more, we trekked to the top and soaked up the spectacular views of the East coast and surrounding peaks. Not a cloud in the sky, we certainly picked the right day for it. JAT highlighted the existence of this trip as we were departing the top. Good call as well as a fresh cache page awaited out logs. I don't generally log GCA, but this wee beastie was too much to pass by. Just A Trifle, Agap2, Gunnie69, and I figured where it could be but all we saw was a sea of grass. By sheer luck I managed to unearth the beast! So I will claim a joint *FTF* with my fellow cachers. A great area with some great views and a bit of a hard slog to the top. TFTSM Smile

*FTF* with others who had made the climb for a nearby cache - it took us some time to locate the survey disk as it was covered by thick grass, a short way off the track. It should be easy for others to find for the next few months until the grass grows back again. We could see all the way from Point Danger and Cooloongatta all the way to the sand blows on North Stradbroke Island. Well worth the effort making the climb up here.
