Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Thanks for the trig point
I love visiting TrigPoints.
Headed off to this trig (before get a couple of caches), which is a metal pipe quadrapod, typical of Victoria, with black semi-circular vanes.
Found @ 1308, in reasonable condition, beside the repeater tower.
Great view from here.
Thanks Geocaching Australia.
Afterwards, I did a few caches and happened to notice this Trig Point nearby, so I logged it.
Great views from up here. It's sort of dominated by the communications towers here beside it.
It was a crisp morning out but the cloud in the valley and the calves en route to GZ made up for it. It's spectacular up this way.
It appears the pic of Kaisho53 disappeared into the etha so mine shows the trig...
Quick walk up here to grab co-ords & take a pic and we headed off towards Yackandandah for a flash mob event
sadly picture of trig structure was as failure but GPS & co-ords worked..
Today with the lure of a different cache and this trig point I wandered up there again
I found the survey marker at the coordinates near the lookout.
It had me puzzled for a minute as there is a trigpoint marker sitting about 450metres away on the next hill.
So I took photos of them both just to be sure !!
There is no metal prism like structure over the top of this one, but there is one on the peak to the west of this one which you can see quite clearly.
Getting up here is a bit tricky if you don't know where the access road is. It has fooled many people in the past when there used to be a cache called "Huon" up here which has now been archived. Best access is from the Murray Valley Highway 36 08.722 146 56.587
Close to the trig point there is a cairn with distances to various other places on it, and set in the concrete at its base is a time capsule, buried by the Apex club from memory. Also there are a number of viewing platforms, and a couple of hundred meters to the west are toilets and picnic area with electric bbqs.
