Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

I’ve been to the top of Beerburrum before. Once you get to the base it’s a well made pathway all the way to the top.. a steep one. It’s only a short walk but a dry weather only one in my opinion. It’s a shame my newer iPhone died recently as the old one I’m using doesn’t capture what I want. New iPhone next week for better photos!
Dry, clear, cool. Great to be on this summit again and my first stop of the day. Next stop, Earthcache..
Caching in the area with whitewebbs this was one of the trigs we found. Good walk and views.

While staying at Beerwah Sportsground for a couple of days Mr T from Tassie Trekkers and Mr W headed up to the Fire Tower. It was a good walk up and then down. The views were magnificent. There was someone working in the tower today on the lookout. It was very windy. TFTT
Having said all that though, the views are just fantastic and worth the walk. The weather today was great and you could see the high risers in both Brisbane to the south and the Sunshine Coast to the north. Grabbed a few photo's in both directions and then started the trek down. Lots of other folk taking the challenge today as well.
A fun trig, but don't under estimate the climb. Recommended
Today I was with a group of 9 other cachers collecting a few caches in the area including the cache on top of this little hill. There is a bitumen walking path up the hill but don't fool yourself, it can be a heart pumping walk to the 700m of path. The views from the top are majestic with great views of the other glasshouse mountains. As a group we will log this as a joint *FTF*.
A taxing "walk" up the hill - but very well worth the effort given the views.
No Trig Station or benchmark disk is at the location but encourage people fit enough to get up the hill to go visit this site!
Access to the summit is from a well signed lookout carpark.
