Description
Scott TS6285
Official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is: Scott. Serial number is: TS6285. Last inspected on: December 11, 1978. Elevation is: 600 meters. This trig has been vandalised and now consists only of a concrete pedestal and the top plate. Side name plaque and vanes are gone.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Safe to say there is 2 trigs here, many thanks & sorry to the owners.
With GZ in hand a nice quick find.
Since the last find, the area has been cleaned up and the trig's had a paint job .
TFTC
Geoson is facinated with Trigs so we stopped by and had a good look, there were now vanes, just the concrete stand, plaque missing.
TFTH
Not much of a challenge finding this old and very tired Trig, it looks like it has had a hard life, the name plaque has gone but the mounting top plate is still there.

Burralow Road
Kurrajong Heights, NSW
For some reason my Tom Tom initially had troubles in finding Burralow Road, but I persevered and am glad I did. I discovered an old dilapidated trig pedestal in an 'abandoned park that time forgot.'
Like so many 1970s era trig placements, this one is now nearly completely surrounded by trees and bushes, so that it would be useless for its original purpose. And there are some really, really big radiata pines that have grown up nearby, towering over the park. But you can still catch glimpses of the amazing views from Kurrajong Heights down to Sydney. They're really spectacular.
I wonder when a decision will be taken to re-establish and refurbish this park. There's a partly eroded driveway that's more or less passable for 2WD vehicles (no problem for AWDs like the GeoBuru) and another driveway that's closed by a gate. However, if the area is ever closed off, it's only about a 150 metre walk from the road.
Well worth the attempt and a pleasure to see this one, the big pines and the view down to the 'flatlands.'
An extra 'Thumbs Up' for the trees and views . . .
Photo coming within the next hour or two . . .
