Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.
Addtional Information
Source: Geoscience Australia
Type: Horizontal Control Point
Elevation: 598
PID: 2946309
Other Information: Geoscience Australia
Additional Information by Crew 153.
The site is located inside a Telstra compound. There is a tall telecommunications tower as the location. I assume that this is the position of the Trig Point.
Additional edit confirming the above:
According to government trig sketch 703351 "Station Mark: Drill hole in cross member of tower", therefore the tower is it!

After passing a few non-lookouts I now plan to stop at on my way out, I followed my stomach to a place I'd read was supposed to be a good spot. Fortitude Brewery isn't too bad actually. I was hoping to find something casual and this it is. The cocktails menu was plastered everywhere and i like trying something new every now and again, however... Don't try the Hubba Bubba cocktail and definitely don't follow the barperson's recommendation to use lemonade rather than soda water!!! yuk
At least I don't have to worry about being over the limit now.
I wandered over behind the Tavern to take a closer look at the tower and snapped a pic as required.
Now... how long is this cloud going to cling on I wonder?
After a quick GC puzzle cache find I was here at GZ looking at the nice bistro beside the Trig.. yes I’ll be with you in just a moment haha. Image taken then it was time for lunch before heading to work. Thanks for the cache and thanks to MattyRx for the extra information, it’s appreciated
Cheers
Photo shows GPS and tower.
Thanks Geocaching Australia.
We were on our way to the waypoint of a multi when we passed this one and I had to stop and take a photo.

As others have said the GZ is surrounded by a big old fence and the phone tower is now in the place of the original Trig Point.
I have taken a photo and have tried to get all the elements in the photo. (ie. me, the gps and the tower)
I took the photo through the fence using my Garmin Oregon 450 so coundn't get the GPS in the photo.
A great spot to visit while the missus was shopping on Gallery Walk.
I have amended the Title and added to the description of the listing.
