Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself. These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills and this one is no exception, providing unique views just nearby.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself.

After doing some more research on this trig, I found out that the beacon had been removed and placed to the ENE of the large radio tower. The mushroom is still at the posted coordinates.

pity it's been cast aside.
the walk up here was fantastic, albeit a little wet and dwizzley today - so no views from atop.
found today with AlbyDangles on our most enjoyable Bruny escapade, dodging the weather as best we could.
cheers, EPs
It's a pity it has been cut down.
Today I was caching with EeePees on Bruny Island. The weather didn't look that great when I left home but turned out to be an ok day.
As usual caching with EeePees was another great day.

How we didnt spot the discarded trig metalwork to start with I dont know but after finding where it used to be we found the rest of it a few minutes later, both of the caches at the top of Mount Mangana were the best I found today, the Flora on the way to the top and the views when I was up there.
Myself and Goose had talked about a Bruny Island trip for a bit now and with the publication of some new caches the other day the trip was brought forward in our caching schedule.
So today I was our of the house before 6am and ready to pick the goose up at 6.15, with a good drive down to the ferry we just made it on to the 7am sailing, being the last car on.
After a full day making our way round the island, getting some nice finds and a few DNF's well not DNF's we gave up on a few before we event got to GZ, we managed to get a space on the 5.30 ferry back and were home before 7 for once
Thanks to all the CO for the caches.
It was a toss-up between Bruny Island and Mt Field today. In the end Bruny Island won out, although a few times during the day I muttered ‘should have gone to Mt Field.’
Stainless steel rat picked me at 6.15am with the plan of coffee at the ferry terminal and over on the 7.30am ferry. We arrived a little earlier than expected and drove straight on to the 7am ferry. That was great except we’d not had coffee!
We headed south, once we hit the island, to beat the tourists stopping briefly for Alonnah five-0 for SSR to find, and then at the shop we grabbed coffee and sandwiches from a couple of nutcase women who obviously thought their continued sarcasm was funny. This kind of behaviour happens a lot when I’m out with SSR!
After a bit of investigation of some new caches, we decided a 5km paddle in the blow-up boat was just too much, so made a beeline for the lighthouse at Cape Bruny and from there worked our way back north, catching the 5.30pm ferry back.
A very pleasant walk, and while I was initially disappointed by the views, following the basic track to the nearby GC cache opened up some wonderful vistas.
Thanks

This is always an enjoyable walk which you do not require a high level of fitness for !
Thanks for the cache, Geocaching Australia !
This is a really outstanding trig becasue of the walk and the views
pic to come
This photo was taken the day I placed the cache Solar Cells.
The walk up to the trig is not bad, considering the change in elevation. Once at the top, the view is limited but on a clear day with no wind will make the trip worthwhile.
D/T adjusted.
