Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

A great location, spectacular views and rock formations.
No GPS in the picture as it's being used to take the photo of me at the trig point.
Thanks for giving me a good reason to drag this old bag of bones up here
Thanks for bring me here and cache.
Came up this bloody hill (again) looking for the final of a multi (again)... it wasn't as dark as last time, but still a bust.
Except...
I remembered to log the Trig point!!
GCA#194
Views are great, but unfortunately there was no brass plate under the Trig marker.
It was a bit of a dirty day but the rain held off and we even had some great views across the plains from on top of the range.
Thanks once again Geocaching Australia.
Hey !! There's one !!
This looks like another easy drive by trig-point find
The caching gods were angry with me though
I had not gotten enough exercise this week and my laziness credits were overdrawn
So the caching gods had arranged for a large tree to fall across the road to the lookout only 400 metres from the picinic area
I got the message
Returning to the picinic area, I abandoned the geomobile and wandered off through the scrub in an upwardly direction.
Every two paces I walked into a spider web.
Eventually I got onto the rockier ridgeline and got to see more views and less spiders
At the top of the hill there was just me.
The firetower had its shutters closed and the aircon unit in the nearby hut was hummin' to itself
Walking up here is definitely the best way to appreciate this place

A great view from the top and an even better ride down on the treadly.
Found by Roma and Max.
Parked at the gate and were tempted to drive around as others have done but then decided we needed the excercise!
Unfortunately it was around 10:30pm and VERY dark so we didn't get to see much of a view.
Although I've been to this spot a number of times, this is the first time I've actually stopped and looked at the trig marker. Unfortunately there is no benchmark/height at the trig marker. There are, however, some great views of the surrounding countryside.
All quiet at GZ apart from thump, thump of a passing medical helicopter, and the sound of a vehicle as it headed back down from the carpark near the summit.
Luckily there is a pine post just near the trig point that served well as a camera stand. Photo taken, then back down the hill and off home.
Waz.
