Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A previous finder would rate the territory at five and the cache at three as there is little room to take the necessary photos. Great views!!
Those that follow should head for GC10RQ5 and when you get to the sign saying no dogs, horses etc. cut left under the broken tree and follow the tags on the trees till you come to an open area, cleared by Forestry. Look for a forked join of tracks and as you look at them, take the right one to its finish. Find the markers and tapes on the trees and follow them to GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Logs
This trig has been on my to do list for a long time now.
I was going to find it a few years ago during a trip to Cape Raoul but we ran out of time on that trip.
Last weekend I went down to find it but could not find the sign that OldSaint referred to and I soon realized I wasn't in the right frame of mind to bash my way to the trig.
Today after having a good nights sleep and plotting a couple of possible routes I started walking from the car park at 0945.
I followed the Cape Raoul track to a sharp bent in the track at S43° 12.065' E147° 46.804'.
I left the track and walked down to the creek where I soon found a tape in a tree at S43° 12.063' E147° 46.827'.
From there I followed the well tapped pad through a lot of cutting grass to an old over grown road and crossed it at S43° 12.142' E147° 47.136'.
The pad from there to the trig was a lot more open and with a lot fewer tapes it did take a bit more looking to keep on the pad.
I arrived at the trig at 1035 and spent a bit of time there before heading back and getting back to the car at 1155
It's been 11 years since OldSaint described a route to the trig but with the Cape Raoul track been re aligned and the forest reclaiming old forestry areas I didn't find any of the features in his description.
I will update the listing.
