Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

So I’ve decided to focus my pre-work (during week days) mini adventures on areas that are popular for tourists or just usually busy. I have an extensive to-visit list to get through so I think this current approach makes sense. Today for example, a week day and I got the one remaining car park!
I arrived at the Trig and was glad to see it still had its top half. The previous two I visited today only had the bottom sections left. I appreciated the people who keep up the painting maintenance. It’s a shame they couldn’t clear some of the growth away so this can be better displayed. Oh well, I guess not everyone values these things like I do.
Now, let’s check out this splendid Lighthouse.. again
dont have a GPS and use my phone to take the photo
I have seen many wonderful sights and taken many photos along my travels. Does it get any better than travelling this great land of ours?? Coffee, caches and photographs. I love travelling this big land of ours.
Thanks for highlighting this and for the TP. Always great to visit some places which I would never have seen if it wasn't for caching.
Selfies aren't that easy with this phone but at least you can see I was really there. Think I need to buy one of those selfie stick things!!!!
Thanks.
Note: Photo didn't load with log through app. Photo lost.

'She' the trig, is looking a little worse for wear but she still has her vanes which is more than can be said for other trigs of this style around town.
Photo of the trig with Seeka the friendly GCA attached.
Thanks for the trig.
Bonus! Happy to log this one too.
Thanks heaps.
Found it at 1950 - so as the sun had set the photos were a bit hard to get.
Nice lighthouse here too.
We grabbed a new-ish cache from near the caravan park and headed up the track to check out the light house.
I saw the trig point (that I had wandered past on a few previous visits) and decided to check the GCA App on my Android phone. It was listed so we set about trying to get a photo with my phone. (also my GPSR)
After a few failed attempts of getting a good shot, a bloke wandered past and helped out by taking some photos. He said he was "the worst photographer in the world" but I think he did alright.
Thanks for the cache. Cheers!!
Nice big swell crashing on the rocks below.
Thanks Geocaching Australia
It also has views to the north and south and spectacular view to Cooks Island and Point Danger to the North.
