Found this one a little while ago with Sophoutloud on a wet, wild and windy day out exploring Mt Hay, a nice little walk up the hill to grab this well looked after concrete pillar. I have been out here many times since, it is a great place for bush walks canyons and general exploring.

Trig #400
We've gazed at this one from afar a lot over the years, on three separate visits to GC caches nearby.... Today we were here just for Flat Top. Made the top in 10 minutes as the sign said, and grabbed the pics - there were some great views up here, and an icy wind too! My Hay Rd must have just been graded, its the smoothest I've seen it....

Noted again! This time we had young Oliver with us, we'll be back in June, should walk up then....

Close enough?? Very Happy
You can see the trig from here with binos, it was pretty cool....
On our way back along Fortress Ridge.... maybe we had better climb up there soon!

The sign at the car park said it was a 10 minute walk to the top. I had my doubts, but got there in a relaxing 9 minutes. Looked like a harder, longer slog.

While I had been out to Flat Top at 1630, Wednesday, 21 December, 1983, that had never been a logged Find, as the photos taken then, had been tossed out in the 1990s! Crying or Very sad
This weekend I had come back to the Blue Mountains to find a few more Waymark Trig Points, so that I could finally 'tick over' x 100 Visits on Waymarking (in addition to over a hundred and twenty Published/Posted trigs). The road out is a bit rough, but could be driven in most 2wd cars. Took a nice walk up the rutted track, and took a selfie at the trig @ 1517, Sunday, 16 July, 2017.
Will also be able to log yet another 'Unloved Trig" @ GA2703.

I like these 1’s 2 for the $ of 1 visits, I’m logging this as a GCA trig & waymark trig. It was very windy today & very cold winds too. A nice short walk to this 1.

Nice to see some of the old cairn as well as the more recent monument. Found at 11:22 am.

A tad wary of the Mt Hay Rd ... unfounded, and the clearly signposted track an easy walk on a lovely Spring day. This Trig has seen better days: the name plate is well and truly gouge away, and the pole/vanes are gone (a short search and no evidence of the remains). Nearby along a narrow track are some well sculptured waveform rock.

we stopped to admire the setting sun on the drive back from Mt Hay. lovely!

18-Mar-12
We were heading back to the Walls Galore cache after finding a GC cache & a trig at Mt Hay when I spotted the track out to this one. The sign didn't lie, it really is only a 10 minute walk out to Flat Rock, to slightly different views to what you get at others spots off this road.

Pity the trig is in such bad condition.

Toriaz and I had been out to do the Hay Hay cache and the Trig on Mt Hay and were heading back to do Walls Galore when we decided to pick up this one. A nice easy walk to the top. Thanks

Found with blossom* - lovely spot, you could land a plane up here!

What a great area! We enjoyed the short walk with plenty of flowers out and great views all around.

I was working out this was and, while stopped for lunch I checked the GPSr - only to find there was this trig nearby, with the access path across the road from where I was parked.
Thus it was essential to zip up here and grab a pic - and it was well worth the 10 minutes walk up the hill, as the views are great.
thanks.

Visit today while on the way back from the 'A Lockley Story' (Lockely Pylon) off the Mt. Hay Road, just north of Leura. It's about a 10-15 minute walk up the trail from Mt. Hay Road and GZ offers beautiful near 360 degree views. The old trig has been vandalised. You will only see it when you get closer. It's not visible from down below. The great views make this one a worthwhile visit.

By now the drizzle had started and only one son came on the short walk up to the trig point.

It is still a great part of the world!

13-Jun-10
Found today with Muggle friends while bushwalking. Unfortunately this Trig Point has been severely vandalized, the top part has been broken off and even the name plate has been chiseled off the base!
Still a great view from up here and well worth the drive, 2WD can make it fine.
