Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Getting the chores that brought me up to the river later than I'd hoped, it was approaching dusk as I headed off on the hunt.
My route took me through Barmah to Nathalia, then southward. Finding a fitting cache for the previous smiley turned out to be tougher than expected, and I had to change tack to log my 4500th Groundspeak find.
Getting that put me within striking distance of here, though, so I drove up the hill to celebrate my 500th Geocaching Australia cache, and, more importantly, my 5000th smiley overall.
Thanks, Geocaching Australia. Just over 7 years of fun so far, and I'm looking forward to many more.

Since it was not far from the local football oval were the party was to be held, Muggle Hubby was happy to drive me up for this practically a drive-by trig. On a sunny day we would have been tempted to climb the tower. All the same we were surprised on the way back down of the view you could see.
Also a great chance to get 12 months Unloved too.
Thanks for the Trig Point, another I can cross on my list. I don’t expect many of them to be this accessible.
I headed up on foot from the south and upon arrival at the trig point, found a really good fire tower, and a smattering of radio aerials too
Not to forget the bitumen parking area and rubbish bins provided for those who drove up here
I earned this trig point !!

Great spot up here.
Thanks for the trig.
Quick snap from the GPS phone ... job done!
Came back up here the next morning to see the sunrise from the best vantage point in the area. Well worth braving the cold.
#1 of 5 GC and GCA finds today.
Having visited this location plenty of times, including a visit to grab info required for a multi, we stopped back here to tick off the Trig at this location.
We didn't go up to the lookout today, but the view is wonderful and well worth the journey up the steps!
Thanks for bringing us here!
Photo to come.
Great views from the tower
Thanks

I climbed up as far as I could go. The view is awesome!
I've actually been here a number of times. It's also close to a WP for a GC cache. Be sure to climb the stairs for a terrific view around northern Victoria. The firespotter is also glad for the company (for a short visit) on quiet days during the summer fire season.
