Out and about with Tassie Trekkers finding caches and this was an area we targeted. We found five great caches, well Mr W did and he thoroughly enjoyed his climb to this prize. The views of the setting sun along with the hang gliders above made it a great walk. TFTT

I have always thought that this Trig was on top of Big Monks. Oh well found it.
Beautiful walk today through a lovely area. Made it to the trig before having morning tea while enjoying the views. TFTT
Found on a nice (but steep) afternoon walk. Great views!

Paris bear bags Big Monks (Fields) trig. Not actually on private land any more so perfectly accessible as it is part of the Roby Roy nature reserve. Blowing an absolute gale this day spectacular views, and a number of wedge-tailed eagles circling above.

I have only just discovered I can log trigs here. I was at this trig , on the 8th August, and luckily I have a photograph to prove it. I was up there finding the Big Monks cache.

Catching up on trigs having recently saved a heap of pics off the camera. Great walk up in the rob Roy taking in a few trigs as well. Terrible pic though!
Been here a couple of times before but didn't have a photo. So being in the area today, took the chance to wander over and check the view again.
And the views are great.....

Travelled by with a swag of caches on the way, we looked in on the desecration of the peak.
The one tree on the hill, a one hundred year old kurrajong, has been cut down.
It is a good climb up to the trig and it is inexplicable why someone would come up here with an axe and having done so use it like this.
So on with the walk. It was a great autumn day out with Mrs Sam and Norkmeister. A recovery day after the cache of the year awards.
We may have to rename the trig "Fields Trig" since that is what is written on the footing. Hmm... too confusing.
ACT Map I says it is Big Monks MC as does my topo.

Just noticed I forgot to log this. This was pre my Bangladesh illness ! Wow, Still remember the breath-taking views
Found with Tienhua on a great day of caching. Top views over the southern Canberra suburbs and this trig is well worth stopping by for a visit.

It's all relative as I thought it was pretty warm, but at least there was a breeze up here to help keep it a bit cooler.
We wandered over here from Rob Roy to catch up with Sol de Lune (and twinkle toes Zsazsa7) whom we found gyrating on and around the trig.
Top views as usual up this hill.

A bonus find while up here with McPhan, Zsazsa7 and Sol de Lune for some GC caches. A brilliant day which wasn't too hot, and at the trig a strong breeze cooled us down!
A fantastic spot to view the southern part of urban Canberra. Really enjoyed the visit.

I don't usually do GCA caches just to keep my numbers simple, however as evidenced in the photo in SecretSquirrel's log this one was found in the company of SS-BJC and Captain Tomato.
Logging my visit as a note only so I don't have to play the numbers game.
TFTC.

Well I'm real glad that I took some relevant pictures while I was up there yesterday, It's a substancial climb but the view is well worth it. A day when it's not raining and windy would be better of course.

I've been up to this very trig point many times every year since 1992 when I first scratched my initials in the white framework. Its been repainted recently, partly obscuring my initials. So, chasing the nearby GC cache nearby, I popped in here yet again. Thanks for the Trig point. I have pictures from today, AND 1992!

Well - I found it without realizing it... I wasn't going to go out and specifically hunt trigs, but I suppose if I found it anyway, there's no harm in logging! Great views from here - they don't get much better than this over Canberra!
