Thanks for the trig.
Was up this way on a HWC SE walk with a small group of muggles for companions, so grabbed an opportune pic as we took in the views - also signing the visitors book - as we completed our circuitous clockwise loop of Echo Sugarloaf from the far end of Randall's Bay Beach, then Williams Road. A cracking day .

A pleasant walk on a cool afternoon and a bonus trig before searching for the nearby cache. TFTTP!

I had done a pit of research on where the boundary's of Echo Sugarloaf State Reserve were and found if I parked at the recommended spot and walked dawn the road to a small gully (S43 13.993 E147 08.214).
It is a little climb up the gully and over a fence on the left that is the boundary of the reserve from there it was an easy walk following the track to the trig point.

We got to this trig spot from Randalls Bay (Williams Road) since the quarry was in full operation and entry that way was not permitted. While eating lunch on top of the sugarloaf we saw first a pair of wedge-tailed eagles and then a solitary one. They circled above us and seemed to get close as though eyeing our sandwiches. A thrilling moment or two.
Found this trig point Along with the nearby cache after walking in from the quarry. An enjoyable walk up hill and down dale.

I told Swampy i am over trigs after this...but maybe it was the heat talking??? 31 degrees and here I am walking UPHILL. Great views though
Geez, we picked a good day to go for a walk up the sugarloaf....
We too, had to jump the fence and go round because the quarry is getting bigger. We walked up to the top and found the other cache first before coming back to get my photo at the trig. On the return journey to the car, Tim Tam decided to go for NUFAS cache...
Thanks Cheesy for another trig

It's hard to find a place to start the walk now, as the quarry has come back further, and has subsumed the old carpark. I had to walk past a sign saying "Authorised Persons Only" and then step sideways over another fence, to get to the sign saying "Echo Sugarloaf State Reserve".
The walk to the top of the hill was very pleasant, and the views amazing - the Southern Ranges, Adamson's Peak, Hartz and Snowy, Snowy South and peaks north.
A lovely afternoon's stroll!

Found myself in the neighbourhood so made a quick dash up the hill to GZ!
Somehow the place looked familiar.......
But it was great to revisit in the middle of winter to be surprised by the wildflowers !
Thanks for the cache, GCA and Cheesy pigs !

Hi Cheesy, been here when I got Dancesports "Echo Sugarloaf" on 23 Feb 2010 @ 0918hrs. Great views!!! TFTC and cheers OldSaint.
Found on the way to the nearby cache. The views were lovely, and there were lots of wildflowers in bloom along the track.
While finding Robtas' trig cache and Dancesports Echo Sugarloaf Cache I took the opportunity to log the trigpoint as well.
