Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

It was quite late in the day when we were up here but the trig was quickly found and then we took a bit of time to appreciate the impressive views.
Looking north Mr Beetle did wonder if any of the cattle in the paddock ever fell down those cliffs as from GZ we couldn't see any fences.
Thanks, great ride to a great spot.
Enjoyed the view.
Was on a caching adventure this evening with AlbyDangles which began at Seven Mile Beach, with Lil Rafa and the geoGSP joining us for the walk part way to Roches Beach and return.
This is the last for the evening, we're now heading off for pizza!
Cheers, EPs.
A quick walk to this trig point after visiting the viewing platform and collecting the required information for the history cache. You get quite a different view from up here, particularly looking north.
Whilst Mrs y'stassie collected information for a GCA multi, the other half of the team went further up the hill to look for this trig point. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of the steel pin in the block of concrete and of the remains of a mount for the beacon. Alas, the beacon is long gone. two photos have been added to the Gallery: the steel pin survey marker; and the remains of one leg of the beacon support. Thanks Geocaching Australia for the cache.
Lovely views again !!! Love this place
I have been here a couple of times finding caches the last time was at night trying to get a FTF. I was a bit late for two of them but managed to get a joint FTF after meeting up with Rat and Goose. I was going to get this trig that night but we thought it would be better to do it during the day.
This morning as I was walking up the road I started a phone call to my brother who is not well with cancer, as I at GZ there was a family having a picnic and as I was still talking on the phone and the little girl was doing here best to scare me off I continued walking along to the end of the track out at the point. After finishing the call I came back to GZ and found the spot free of muggles so finding the trig was easy.
Form the time I left the car to finding the trig was well over an hour.
Found at 1215
TFTC
Started by driving from Huonville to WP1 for GA10384 where I calculated the info and then went on to find it and GA10384 before travelling to Cape Deslacs to find four caches here.
The car park was full and muggles everywhere!! No muggles at GZ though!
Arrived at GZ and made a very quick find
The cache was Sainted at 1331hrs.
Lots of memories here: surfing Clifton, diving for crays down in the gully, other caches and ......not telling you!
From here, it was on to GA10302.
Total km covered today was 6.99km which had me use 9335 steps using 1629cals.
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.
Ripper views though, 'Bird or Board' is nearby and was my first 'never been to this spot before' cache and brought back good memories.
Should this be archived? Or am I missing something?
