Description
Wagga Wagga Base Hospital
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Thanks.
I started the day off by going to the dawn service in Temora. I loved the service and when the Spitfire (plane) went over the top of us. I then headed home for some breakfast and seeing that I have the day off of work I found myself driving to ‘The Rock’. Originally to hike up to the top of ‘The Lion’ in ‘The Rock Nature Reserve’ but seeing how there are caches along the way, I thought I would get a few added to my accounts as well. I also learnt a few things today. Unless stated otherwise, all caches were found quickly. On some of the smaller log books/paper I signed as 25/4 JM. Thanks to all CO’s of the caches I found, the locations I experienced and for the fun I had today.
Today’s totals:
21 Groundspeak finds
4 Geocaching Australia finds
0 DNF’s
My last find of the day. A nice quick find here. TFTC and now for a well needed late lunch and to head home.
If I get back to 'do' the Testline series, I may try to sweet-talk my way to get a MUCH closer view of the particular trig, as I have at the Sydney Adventist Hospital, and my 'own' Manning Base Hospital.
Photographed @ 1440, Sunday, 23 April, 2017 - logging 31/5/17
And lucky I did as it may be removed some time soon as the new building is progressing and the old one may have to make way for the next stage.
Cheers,
Roostaman
TFTC !!
its impossible to get to the actual roof...i tried, no one has access.
I even went out on the fire escape (which turns out doesnt reach the roof anyway) but it has been over run by giant scary spiders...so i couldnt even brave a flight (and by giant scary spiders...i do mean GIANT SCARY...which really strong webs and fangs atleast 1cm long!)
=( but i did stand underneath it =)
(#43)
TFTC and the many Sheryls.
Stopped to refuel and pulled out the GPSr to do a last check and there it was!
But from a distance
I can get within a few metres of GZ,
but the trig point is still several stories above my head
So I dunno how I'm going to get on the hospital roof to claim this one
