Description

Vincentia TS10890R

Official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is: Vincentia.

Serial number is: TS10890R.

Last inspected on: April 12, 1991.

Elevation is: 884 meters.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.

Located near the village of Vincentia on top of a water supply tank. About a 600 metre walk from the bitumen or if you have a 4WD, you can drive all the way.

Rode the bike up from the gate. Nice easy ride back.

Out on the hunt for more points in the current game. Travelling with Sol de Lune today on what turned out to be a very long day. Thanks for organising , driving and your company. Especially your patience while I traipsed along behind especially on those long uphill climbs at times. The last one standing in the rain waiting five minutes for me to arrive. This was a pleasant enough walk along a fairly flat track - unlike some later trigs. Clapping

09-Jan-19
Out with Smittengranny for a day trip and after finishing around Nowra and Berry, it as down for this before heading in Jervis Bay. Short walk for this one and all was good.

30-Dec-16
A little walk along the fire trail at the end of Murray Street, Vincentia.

22-Mar-16
On a Jervis Bay trig seek with rogerw3 ...

A stop at a second locked gate along Jervis Bay Rd and the topo map indicated less than a km straightline walk ... surely it would be on view at a distance. It was, but a very short distance. Still, it as a pleasant enough trek along the service road - though be wary after rain with the 'water' crossing. A fine structure indeed, and viewing previous photos unseen unless this track is taken.

Found with whitemushroom today, we came in from the Jervis Bay Road and walked down the service track to the reservoir for a nice view of the quadripod.

Found while in Vincentia with relbot. Now, I didn't expect that road! Thought it was tarmac but it was eroded dirt. Luckily, we were driving a 4WD and we very carefully drove to GZ. Be very careful! We had to pass one jogger, who probably suspected us. Once there, the trig was spotted and the photo was taken. TFTC GCA!

As I drove towards the location of this Trig thought I could take a minor road off the Jervis Bay Rd, couldn't, it was locked... As only about a Km away just walked to it on the road.

158. Cool. All the trigs in this area had there own special bits that made them memorable. This one was for the chance to get off road and see a bit more of what the Adventra could do. No problem even though FFP doubted it could do the one particular spot. Fun.

Looks like we found the only ungated entrance too.

Drove in in Albida's 4x4 and then continued on only to find a golf course. Made a hasty retreat...

Was with Albida team to visit this one. Thats my back with the checked shirt in the photo. Got to love golf courses dont you guys!

Having found a pretty rough track in to this one with no gates, we thought all was well and took the pictures. Then we found ourselves being shooed off a golf course ! Can't they afford a sign ? The trig area is fine. Albida.

Adding trigs as I go through my Topos. A rough track in initially but then sandy. Passed a few people riding their bikes. Big homes nearby with great views. The current topo shows proposed developments on a massive scale behind these homes. Bush is already being cleared.
