Description
Bracey TS10312F
Official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is: Bracey.
Serial number is: TS10312F.
Last inspected on: December 13, 1976.
Elevation is: 1021 meters.
Unfortunately only the base of this Trig Station remain. Although the mounting points for the Level / Theodolite are still there and show sign of recent use; perhaps when the 200 odd survey pegs were recently put in the ground. Altitude 1021 metres.
It looks like there may be a new fence put around the radio beacon to cover a larger area than the existing one.
Logs
Our last stop for the day, the two trigs at the end of the road here. We found the two trads as we went - they need more light!
After the tower, we headed around the north side of the fence and followed the GPS down to this trig.

Sophoutloud and I needed an excuse to get out of the house so we decided to drive 'Bells Line' to Lithgow and grab a few trigs on the way through. We managed to grab 13 across the day to bump up our trig count significantly. we had a great day out and most of the trigs we found were in great conditions, some even looked like they had a new coat of paint. A bit of a walk down the hill from Braceys lookout to get this one. seems strange that it wasn't closer to the top but a good one all the same

It collecting trigs today, this one mad the list we approached this one after visiting the radio tower just above! I think we’re just as close to the closet’s road in the town below, I feel like I could hear someones conversation they were having in there back yard! An unusual placement for a trig I though but still a good lookout!

Found at 1640, after walking down from the Lithgow Tower trig. An interesting steel post, that probably wont get much use in the future. No sign of a name plate.

A day with trigs and rogerw3 caches on various Lithgow hilltops.
Walked around the Lithgow Tower compound and while following the OSM track espied the trig a short distance aside.
A gingery tap tap tap walk down the leaf littered slope and despite a uncheering drop made it to within a few metres. As much as the 'mushroom would have like to give Bracey a hug, with the narrow rock step across and it loose coverings it seemed wise to take the pictures as near as.

In Lithgow I thought I could do a quick deviation for the two trigs here. Parked at the end of Cook St as I couldn't see a way up on the map and in other finders' logs. Slogged my way up the hill to finally find it. Got the shot and went up the hill to Lithgow Tower and found the road I could have driven in on. Did find a nice set of steps to get back down.

Visited this trig with blossom*, pjmpjm and rogerw3 during a great day out in Lithgow. Another interesting story from rogerw3 about the use these trigs had in the history of the mines around Lithgow area
This was the last cache for us today which was sad. There are so many great cache around Lithgow now! And what an interesting trig station to end the day. I have never seen one on the side of a hill like this, they have always been right at the very top before. rogerw3 told us that there was a whole series of trigs around Lithgow like this becasue they were used to survery the many mines in the area and could all be seen well from down below. What interesting history here And many thanks to rogerw3 for the tour he planned for us
Found together with rogerw3, blossom* and strike-a-light on an all-day geocaching expedition all around the beautiful Lithgow area.
Although the trig itself was not the best one we found today, the views were really great.
And there was a GCA cache nearby as well . . . a nice bonus.
Many thanks again to rogerw3 for guiding us to this one!

Another find at lunchtime today.
Great views from here.
I remember running out of fuel at this lookout right on dusk many years ago!

Finaly got around to do this one, it does look like it was used recently for pegging around the radio beacon perhaps for a new fence.
