Another find on our visit to the Blue Mountains from the Hunter Valley area, TFTC

18-Jan-19
Doing a quick trip up the mountains hoping it would be a bit cooler as 43 predicted at home today! Parked and walked around to the next street where the trig peeped over the top of the tank. TFTT

15-Dec-18
Found with the geofamily.

15-Dec-18
Hard to spot, so we only took one photo.

This was on the run home today as in the morning it was too foggy and a light mist of rain was happening. Parked at water tank & took GPS shots & did the short walk to get the trig in the photo shot - thanks

#GA2390 - 19:25; Day three of the summer sojourn in the Blue Mountains with the geohoney and today we decided to do Scenic World and see a bit more of the local environs. The day started with breakfast in Leura then off to Scenic World and a trip down the Scenic Railway and the walk through the rainforest. The highlight of the day was seeing not one, but two lyrebirds in their native habitat. Managed some great (and some not so great) snaps of these beautiful birds in the wild Dancing Travelled back up in the cable car and after a bite to eat headed across on the Scenic Skyway and back again after a short walk on what had become quite a hot day. After enjoying the sights, we were took the long way home and after dropping the geohoney at the resort, I headed off for a spot of late afternoon caching. I collected a few trads, but the main focus of this mission was trigs, including this one as I headed back to the digs. TFTT Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

Found with my Dad when caching in Katoomba this weekend.....

Gee, these trigs on tanks are hard to get a good look at!

03-Jan-16
Found on a weekend trip to the Blue Mountains with Sol de Lune. After pushing through the traffic, we reached the trig in the quiet part of the suburbs. Once we found a good spot to take the photo, it was all good. TFTC GCA! Clan Cerberus

Another trig...

Not the easiest to capture, a tree blocks the only viewing point.

20-Mar-13
Found just a short walk from where we're staying. We've never so many trigs so close together.

22-Jul-12
My 4th trig of the day, and the hardest one to find a spot to take a picture. Eventually got there!

22-Apr-12
My 7th Trig for the day. A bit tricky to get a good photo.

02-Jul-11
It's easy to find, but a bit harder to grab a photo. Got there in the end though.

Looking for a suitable cache close to home on Christmas Day, I was surprised to find that I'd never logged this one, only a couple of kilometres away in North Katoomba! It was a nice little Christmas gift -- not having to drive too far today.

However, it proved to be a bit of an effort to get a decent view of the actual trigpoint on top of the big green reservoir. You can drive right up to the main gate on Showground Lane, very close to the reservoir, but there's no view of the low-set central trig from there.

Other convenient spots are more or less blocked by trees, etc.

However, I found a glimpse of the red trig from Barton Street, near the intersection with Showground Lane -- not the best shot I've ever taken of a trig, but certainly better than nothing!

So . . . Merry Christmas, Katoomba Trig!

Did a bunch of these water tower drive-by trigs today heading down the mountains from Blackheath to Sydney. First time home in 3 months after a drive to Perth! Cheers for the Trig Wink

So many water towers & me writing notes such as this to identify - "Thru trees barely see!" Not much help a few days later as a pretty general observation common to many.

This was the end part of a run while in Oberon with HomeDG and SherpaNT for the Oberon event and a caching blitz in the region.
There are a lot of "drive by" trigs in the Katoomba area so we challenged ourselves with how many we could spot.

Q: why are there different coloured trig heads (white, black and even red?)

18-Apr-10
Wandered over here while we waited for the NRMA around the corner - long story. I must say. that's one very big water tank. It's impossible to see the trig from all but one angle.

Tried to see this yesterday with no luck.

Found it today from Barton St.

(If only I had read the desciption!?!)

Found while walking around Katoomba. Interestingly the marker seem to have at one stage been painted red instead of black, unless that is only the undercoat left after the paint has peeled off.
