Sophoutloud and I needed an excuse to get out of the house so we decided to drive 'Bells Line' to Lithgow and grab a few trigs on the way through. We managed to grab 13 across the day to bump up our trig count significantly. we had a great day out and most of the trigs we found were in great conditions, some even looked like they had a new coat of paint. another well loved cache. we were going to miss this one as we didn't have time to walk the whole fire trail but then noticed a small track up from the street to the east of the trig. ended up being a relatively easy and short walk up to the top.

Out and about today collecting trigs in the area! A lovely walk up the hill to this one though what looks to be mountain bike tracks? Once again the trig looks good like it had a new lick of paint recently! Not the greatest of lookouts since all the trees had grown, but still a lovely walk all the same

Took a pleasant walk up the hill, to take a photo for the Waymark, and to get a GCA trig is a BONUS!
All good, as the name plate is still there. No surprise that the post and vanes aren't there, as the view pretty poor!
Found @ 1425.

Went past this trig with a recently formed walking group from Hartley. Started at the locked gate.

A second attempt following a chat with rogerw3 while on a walk to the Wollangambe the previous day.
It was decided to try the service road from the gate on Hassans Walls Road ... a track that partway also leads to Views 3-22 Bowenfels.
A nice easy walk with a couple of rutted spots, and an array of communication towers passed by, with Cooerwull trig outside the compound of another. The trig was sans mast and vanes but the nametag was still clear to see on the paint faded plinth.
Trees blocked a full view of the Lithgow below but it was pleasant enough walk, though the return in an afternoon's sunshine was a tad warm - an oddity the 'mushroom thought, that for once the walk to a trig was downward, and the return is UPWARD ...

A day with trigs and rogerw3 caches on various Lithgow hilltops.
Approached from Rutherford Lane ... passed a few roos at the reserve at the end of the lane and made way around seeking the track. Many trees have recently been felled and lay across the landscape. After picking a way around, finding the track, the way then had a Telstra cable pinned by a fallen dead branch a metre from the ground. It was likely Telstra, but it did not seem wise to tap it with the aluminium hiking pole. Time to return, and see the roos again. Another day.

TFTT. It was a good ride down, but a tough ride back.

Least I fnd rhe track! Rock wet slippery so only looked in safe places. Base of tree not safe. Doing awa last visit.
More than 3 years unloved! God I am unfit! Came up the short but steep way along an OSM marked trail which was easy enough to find. Running out of time here in town but worth the walk! Bunch of workers up here today.

Visited this trig with blossom*, pjmpjm and rogerw3 during a great day out in Lithgow. I enjoyed rogerw3's various history stories along the way
A lovely easy walk along a fire trail to this trig. It was interesting to see the communications equipment along the way and rogerw3 told us all the history as we walked. A lovely spot
Found together with rogerw3, blossom* and strike-a-light on an all-day geocaching expedition around the Lithgow area.
Was great to find such a nice trigpoint and we all discussed the nature of trigs and permanent markers, etc., as we walked.
Many thanks to rogerw3 for guiding us to this one!

Parked at the locked gates and completed the four caches up here!
This one was a fairly easy walk out and back.
