Another find on our visit to the Blue Mountains from the Hunter Valley area, TFTC
#GA2378 - 16:30; Day three of the summer sojourn in the Blue Mountains with the geohoney and today we decided to do Scenic World and see a bit more of the local environs. The day started with breakfast in Leura then off to Scenic World and a trip down the Scenic Railway and the walk through the rainforest. The highlight of the day was seeing not one, but two lyrebirds in their native habitat. Managed some great (and some not so great) snaps of these beautiful birds in the wild Travelled back up in the cable car and after a bite to eat headed across on the Scenic Skyway and back again after a short walk on what had become quite a hot day. After enjoying the sights, we were took the long way home and after dropping the geohoney at the resort, I headed off for a spot of late afternoon caching. I collected a few trads, but the main focus of this mission was trigs, including this one. TFTT Geocaching Australia

We found this after finding the cache at the ruins, and searching in vain for the nearby trig....

Park & shoot how easy is that, completed this 1 on the way out of the area today.

After meeting up for a cuppa in Leura with pjmpjm I came up here to log this trig. Easy to see as you pull into the driveway and jumped out quickly to get the shot.

Last of a blue-sky warm Spring day mid-mnts Trig seek ... and an easy one to capture.

Were able to park very close to this particular reservoir to take the photos. Certainly get around some back streets doing these trigs.
Another trig I managed to find on my way home from the gnome event.

We did a few mid-upper Mountains caches today & tried to find as many of the trig stations as we could along the way. This was our fourth trig for the day. Thought this one would be easy when we could drive so close, then realised the challenge was actually spotting the trig through all of the trees & shrubs. Finally found a good viewing spot!
This is the second and highest of the two Leura trigpoints, but in North Leura, not far from the Great Western Highway.

Did a bunch of these water tower drive-by trigs today heading down the mountains from Blackheath to Sydney. First time home in 3 months after a drive to Perth! Cheers for the Trig

Above the green hedge according to my notes. If I find as many trigs again as in this trip will need to come up with a better recording system.

This was the end part of a run while in Oberon with HomeDG and SherpaNT for the Oberon event and a caching blitz in the region.
There are a lot of "drive by" trigs in the Katoomba area so we challenged ourselves with how many we could spot.
Q: why are there different coloured trig heads

Found this one easily on a slight detour off the highway on the way home from work.
Found walking around leura. Another of the many reservoir mounted Trig points in the mountains. Visible from the street, but out of bounds.
