Spotted as I drove back down the highway to Sydney after a caching day in the upper Blue Mountains.
After a quintuple trig hunt on Tableland Rd, we went GC-caching down towards Hazelbrook, then nabbed this trig on the way home - we drive past it all the time on the way in, but getting permission to stop is always tricky, today - no problem....

MrT was heading to Katoomba for SES so I tagged along and saw this trig along the way. TFTT
#GA2403 - 16:10; Day four of the summer sojourn in the Blue Mountains with the geohoney and a much quieter day was in order for today while the geohoney recuperated from an ailment which hit yesterday. After breakfast in Leura, the geohoney decided to check out the local retailm offerings, so I set off to check out some of the local cache offerings. After collecting a few caches, I picked up the geohoney and we headed to Sublime Point. Another great location in the mountains, before heading back for scones and jam at the Norman Lindsay Cafe in Faulconbridge. Afternoon tea done, we headed back to Leura and pulled over to grab a snap of this trig along the way. TFTT Geocaching Australia

Unable to stop so we took our pic on the move and through the tinted windscreen - not a good recipe for sharp photography! Nevertheless, this was one we got......unlike quite a few others.

For a number of years I've seen these but couldn't get them. Either I've been driving or it's been dark. Today however was a different story. Hopefully I've linked the right photo to the right trig. A quick drive by photo.
spotted a number of trigs on the way up the mountains but couldn't remember what order they were. located from gallery. Thanks for the cache & giving us something to look for

1030 Well Am sure that I had 'Found' ALL of the Trig Points on the Katoomba 1:25,000 8930-1S 2nd ed. topo map but on checking my trig log book for the 80's I can't see an entry for GR62506575!
I do remember taking a photo but may not have transferred that to a grid reference and an entry, as the map only show an unnamed triangle beside a water reservoir.
Will have to come back and get more current photos (as my collection had been tossed out in the 90's) of the rest of the trigs.
(My coordinates were probably from where I stopped to take the photo, and obviously not taken from being on top.

This one is just off the highway and we were able to turn off into a side street to park and take the necessary photo.
Accessing the area of this trig point was relativelt straightforward. The photo added to the Gallery contains two images: the first is of one of us in front of the reservoir with the trig point on top; the second is a closer view of the trig point marker. TFTC
Passed this one a couple of times already, but didn't have time to take a picture or stop. Today in the traffic jam I had all the time, unfortunately.

Another roof top trig on a water tower, this seems to be the norm for the mountains this morning. We took our picture from the highway for this one
Located this one on the way up to the Autumn Caching in the Bluies event and photographed on the way home.
Heading down the mountain after finishing our K2K walk and the traffic was extremely slow so I was able to snap this Trig on the way past (from the back seat of the car).
A quick grab with Just a Cacher Mr Roo on a visit to the Lithgow area for some caching. Some great views around the area today despite the weather.

Travelling down the Highway with Blackbunny and Just a cacher we saw two trigs this one we could stop at, the next one we couldnt so cant log it. TFTC
A trig in every town! The hardest thing, logging these the next day is remembering which one is which. Anyway, a good excuse to stop the car for a few minutes on the drive home.
cheers,
Wal

We did a few mid-upper Mountains caches today & tried to find as many of the trig stations as we could along the way. This was our second for the day.
On the way to Blackheath for the night.
Caught it with my camera.

My second last trig of the day, found at Lawson, on Mary Street. After driving by a few more times, I now think I could have got a better photo from the GWH.

I drive past this trig almost daily, so I thought it was time I logged it

This was the end part of a run while in Oberon with HomeDG and SherpaNT for the Oberon event and a caching blitz in the region.
There are a lot of "drive by" trigs in the Katoomba area so we challenged ourselves with how many we could spot.

Q: why are there different coloured trig heads (white, black and even red?)
