Description
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

I visited this Trig twice in one day. I happened to be driving back past this one around sunset so wandered back in for some more images. I was going to return at around midnight for a very specific Trig image I’m chasing but unfortunately clouds interrupted this idea. Never mind, I’ll get it eventually. Thanks for the cache

3 days off from work, and Geo Kid O joined me on a journey to Stanley and then down along the western explorer road towards Corinna. We have a great time finding a number of caches and driving a road I had not travelled on before.
The Western Explorer road was closed for a while and recently had been reopened with a new bridge near Balfour. Some very interesting sights along the way, with part of the road feeling more like a forest track, and other parts felt like a place where no one else has gone in the past, other than on the road. The open button grass plains were amazing along with the mountain views.
We stayed in Stanely, and the caches in and around Stanely were very good, including one walk to the top of the Nut. Gee that is a steep 400 metre walk.
Thank you for the cache which was part of our journey
A nice easy find

Found during a weekend away with EeePees.
TFTC"
Taking advantage of the Hobart show public holiday, and making a 4 day geocaching trip West, and then North West, with AlbyDangles.
This is one we found along the way. Decided the rain had eased enough to risk a walk, but we got wet legs and shoes/feet.
Pic attached.
Cheers, EPs.

Leaving our caravan in Waratah we set off in the Geocruiser towards Corinna. We grabbed a coupe of caches along the way but decided to grab most caches on the way back.
Grabbed this one on the way back in brilliant sunshine as opposed to the drizzle on the way down.

This cache was the nineth and final one on the agenda for today.
I was a little luckier with the weather here as the rain abated for most of the "search."
The walk to the trig was a slow one as the ground was very wet and in some places, very slippery.
Arrival at the trig, a quick look around to see what the weather was doing, take the necessary photos and back to the cache mobile.
On the way to and from the cache, saw a lot of the holes made by the "plains" lobster - this helps airate the paety soil of the plains.
The trig was logged at cache replaced as found at 1528hrs this afternoon on the way to Savage River.
We absolutely loved ground zero and the surrounding views even though very misty.
No sight of leeches this afternoon unlike yesterday; when they seemed to be every where I searched for a cache.
Found five caches in total for day one. Day two, eleven caches found. The third day has coffed up nine cache finds and two "Did Not Finds" but I think those two caches maybe missing in action. Have had a better time watching Anne's face as she got a better look at the West Coast. She's loved Nelsons Falls, Strahan, the Museum at Zeehan and the falls at Waratah.
Thanks for the cache and the fun of the find
Cheers OldSaint.
Bit squishy under foot today but followed the geotrail to the trig.
